Lyon is a beautiful city and the museum is exceptional

My favorite museum in Lyon, thanks to the culture card I go there very regularly.

Good but not exceptional. The museum is laid out by date of the artworks.

The biggest advantage was that I could see the works of Monet, Manet and Degas. And the small park before entering is beautiful.
And the exhibitions related to Egypt are well organized, so it would be more interesting if you are interested in this field.
Also, if you go to the 3rd and 4th floors, the main paintings are oil paintings, but there are many large-scale paintings that are worth a look. There are many religious paintings, so if you had knowledge in that part, you would have enjoyed it more...

However, the structure of the museum building is too difficult. It is a structure that I am very confused about whether this is the place I have seen while walking and where it will be connected if I go this road.
And sometimes, the lighting is placed in a place that makes the picture difficult to see. So, you have to go back one ten to see the picture..?

Museum in a magnificent building, the Saint Pierre Palace, a former Benedictine abbey. Its 70 galleries host a permanent exhibition ranging from antiquity to the 20th century and often very interesting and unprecedented exhibitions.

In the center of Lyon, at the edge of the Place des Terreaux, nothing but the inner courtyard is worth a visit - a haven of peace amidst the noise of the city. The museum is interesting, sculptures and paintings.

A wonderful museum, few people, 8 euro adult ticket, free for children (many schoolchildren who actively write something in notebooks). The exposition is arranged in chronological order - Egypt, Ancient Greece and Rome, Arabian halls, Middle Ages, Renaissance ... A luxurious hall of coins and medals. There are a lot of impressionists, there are Rubens, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Picasso, El Greco, Rodin ... A green courtyard, a shop where the seller speaks Russian. The only negative is stuffy.

The Lyon Museum of Fine Arts is second to Musee d'Orly with respect to impressionist paintings. The collection is very rich with works of Monet, Manet and several others. There is also a chic coffee house which serves hot beverages and lunch.
My personal opinion is that this museum is the first place any visitor to Lyon should consider.
