A good museum with beautiful contemporary paintings and other must visit.

It's a place I like, a human-sized museum with beautiful collections.

An excellent permanent collection. The exhibitions are always very supplied. And the setting of the museum is exceptional. The prices are undoubtedly a little expensive (7 for the students) whereas clearly the visit must be done in several times. The trick (and not only for students) is to make a culture card, 15 and the visit is unlimited (with the Mac too). Anyway it's worth the detour

A magnificent museum that has a wide variety and variety of works. A special mention in the Janmot room that made me discover The poem of the soul whose beauty of the paintings has captivated me. Temporary exhibitions are also always of a high quality. Only negative point: the museum shop which is quite small and does not offer many posters, cards ... and sometimes sells the catalog of exhibitions at an exorbitant price

Splendid. It lacks a hint of life but the place, the works are beautiful. In short, an oasis of urban calm, a relaxation of history.

Better than expected. Entrance Entrance Looking at Rodin and Burdell statues in a charming garden. The inside of the building is exhibited in various ways from ancient times to modern times. Meals are recommended in restaurants with a huge Raul Dufy picture in the museum.
There is a set menu of 18 in the city pub, but if the single meal is 16 , it is expensive, but the quality is different.

A must when you come to Lyon. Very beautiful temporary exhibitions, well arranged. A very nice welcome. The garden in the course is decorated with many statues. It is ideal for a lunch break sandwich.

The museum is very very large, at first glance it does not look like but if you want to visit it in its entirety you will have it for 2h30-3h. Admission is affordable 8 normal price and 4 for students. The collections are very well ordered in chronological order and there are magnificent paintings in a beautiful setting. I highly recommend

Collections not exceptional especially for the price: 8 euros. No price for teachers who visit the museum to prepare for their visit with the students. Pity. It is urgent to rethink the cultural offer of the second city in France. For comparison in Munich same price but works of quite another importance ....

There is not a lot to say - the museum is filled with beautiful pieces from egyptian times to present day. It is a walk through time. The 20th century art was a highlight for me

Magnificent exhibits most of the time. Only the one on the drapes lacked a bit of consistency in March. The one on Picasso was extremely enriching!

Beginning with the building, the museum offers rich experience in beauty. The orientation service is excellent, the museum facilities cater very well to various audiences. Very affordable including for families with babies.

Worth a visit to the musee. They have a wide collection and it's not too busy. Some works by Rodin, Gaugin, Monet amongst others.

This museum is a must in Lyon for lovers of classical painting. Are represented some great classical painters, and also known local painters.
But there are quite a few rotations and in tends to see a little the same works, or very similar works.
There is also a section dedicated to modern painting and with a lot of changes compared to my previous visit (a year ago). A triptych Soulages is present as well as one of his paintings of the beginning (with the walnut husk).

Excellent museum! To see and see again! All times are represented, and there are new exhibitions regularly. The building is very beautiful too. Rates are very affordable, especially for young people.

Super museum. Jy had already gone younger, I had a good memory. What a pleasure to rediscover it.

Beautiful works. Alas, the lighting (lack of light but also reflections and shadows related to improperly positioned artificial lighting) does not allow to take advantage of the colors and the light of a lot of paintings. It is very harmful to look at a painting with subtle colors or bright colors.
Otherwise the place is nice, especially the sculpture room and the inner courtyard.
