This is one of the best places where we have stayed in the whole of Banff, Jasper and Calgary. The bathroom was amazing and big. Me and my wife stayed for a night in this hotel. We loved the room, but the only drawback was that it didn't have a microwave oven. We thought we could quickly heat our food which we bought from outside, but we couldn't. Overall we liked it and we will go back to this hotel again given a chance.
The hotel and staff are outstanding! Location is perfect and we found very good value in the price we paid for our room. The rooms and hotel are very clean. The rooms are smaller but has everything you need and very modern looking. Showers, beds, pillows, etc were great.
I rented numerous rooms for a staff weekend and everyone liked it and had the same experience. The staff at any business make the difference and the hotel has some great people.
We had a small reservation issue but was fixed immediately.
We will stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone else
Absolutely incredible! Rooms were nice and had comfy beds, but what made it amazing was the staff. It was our friend s birthday and we asked them to say happy birthday (I asked them online in special requests when I booked) and I also asked for them to put a picture of Michael Cera in the room (inside joke). Well sure enough, they greeted my friend right away with a happy birthday and the picture was sitting in the room, laminated and signed by the staff! They had a make-shift cake made out of towels, with fake rose petals and ribbon wrapped in another towel shaped like a heart. If that isn t customer service, I don t know what is. Great job! Working in the hospitality business, I was very pleased. Way too make your guests feel important, not only for their birthday, but during a pandemic. Cheers to you guys!
Would stay here again! The rooms were clean and modern and the location is amazing! We were in one of the cheapest rooms, so the room was small and there was no view but it was still an amazing stay! The only downfall - after we found one of the few remaining guest parking spots, the front desk notified us the spots are first come first serve. Being a busy weekend, we decided to not use our car all weekend so we wouldn't have to find a spot elsewhere in Banff.
Stayed the night at the Mount Royal Hotel for the first time and well for the price and location you really can't go wrong. The room size was pretty good but the light in the room at night was on the low side as there wasn't any light on the ceiling. Beds were very comfortable and soft pillows. The room was very clean and the bathroom was nicely renovated.the only major problem is parking and lock thereof you're basically playing a game of find a spot for your car if you do decide to leave the resort at any time other than that this place is definitely worth your stay
Best value hotel in the middle of Banff Avenue!
I like that they are situated in the heart of downtown Banff so you don t have to worry about going around Banff and walking too far from your hotel. Service was really good and they gave us free ticket for Gondola ride!
The lobby feels nostalgic with generous display of history and old crafts. The hotel itself is very old but they renovated the whole face of the building and it s pretty chic looking in the inside.
Our economy room though was not that pleasing and only have a tiny window for viewing. The carpet looked dirty so you can either bring your own slippers or just wear socks the whole time. Plenty of chairs and table inside with Nespresso machine. Closet has lots of hangers, small fridge, ice box, bath robes and safety deposit box.
Washroom was clean and bright. They have plenty of towels for face, hand, floor and body.
We can hear the footsteps of other visitors inside but didn t mind noise at all cause we re super tired.
You can order room service from their lounge or Tony Roma s. Or just go down to the lobby and hangout in their bar lounge.
2 weekend nights in late November was just $218 (Nov.2020) so it s pretty cheap considering it has the best location in Banff.
We had a fantastic one week stay at the Mount Royal hotel. It is in the most central location in town so we never needed our car when we stayed local. The hotel also has a interesting history, being the second oldest in Banff and the design tries to honour that history. The rooms and clean and well appointed with comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Meghan!
Fantastic hotel in the middle of the town of Banff! Their staff is very accomodating, we arrived early and they allowed us to check in early so we can leave our things in the hotel and get on with our day. The location is amazing. We had free breakfast with our booking at Tony Roma's which was wonderful. The rooms were updated and looks very clean. Will recommend this!
It was super quiet between the rooms. Lots of elevators.
Parking is abysmal. They have room for 50 vehicles and other than that, you have to find your own parking. Great location and access to all things around Banff. We paid as low as $105/night in March.. it's usually $135 during COVID.

Great value for such a great stay. Staff were very friendly, received 2 free drinks in the lounge as well as free breakfast at Farm and Fire due to Tony Roma s being closed (the food was amazing). Clean and comfy rooms with coffee/tea provided. Would recommend and will be staying here again!
