Absolutely horrible experience. Waiting in line for almost an hour and at the door I was told to pay different price to enter compared to the people immediately before me. It was almost as if I was being charged and treated differently. When I asked why that was the case I was given a very rude answer by the person letting people in at the door. As I was leaving I saw others entering in for free. Will NEVER COME AGAIN.

Cool lil property in Times Square. The staff is really attentive and responsive to needs (I know we hear this alot, but it's almost never true. Here, if you deal w Victoria or Ashley, it is). Cool rooftop bar and eating area. The rooms are ridiculously small and it could use more privacy and even a fridge if possible. It's the small size that keep me from giving it 5 stars. I did appreciate how clean the property is and how cool the design work is overall. The place ia very pleasing to the eyes.

Hostel style hotel, with young atmosphere. Good service and very correct rooms. It is 5 minutes walk from Times Scuare. Recommended the hotel bar, to have a drink at the end of the day.

Love this hotel! Came for my birthday and mother s day with my husband and wanted a boutique hotel but with a trusted name and Moxy by Marriott is what I got! Hotel has a sexy feel and atmosphere for couples. The rooms are cute and give you just what you need with no fluff! I get what they are doing with this brand and love the minimalist feel!

This hotel is ok if you like TINY rooms. My bed touched three walls and had two feet on the one remaining side. In that two feet , you could take a VERY uncomfortable wooden folding chair off a peg on the wall and try to sit in it....can't do that too long as it is truly uncomfortable. If you need to do any work in your room, you can take a folding table off a peg on the wall and try to set up in your room. I am a Platinum Elite Marriott card carrier, so I have stayed at a lot of hotels....this is the worst by far. Dreadful concept and dreadful room!

You know those dinky little import cars were the guys put the big chrome mufflers on and all the goofy-looking bling??? They just look uncomfortable and loud... Now imagine a business trip in New York and you live in that thing for a week... Now you got the idea. Nice second floor bar and the roof top lounge (you have to go outside and next door).

Very modern hotel. Excellent friendly staff. But if you want to sleep or relax before 230 in the morning then forget it. Up on the sixth floor and it's deafening!! So only 5 hours, sleep a night!

The accommodations were the typical NYC room size but, comfortable. The rooftop bar is a nice place to meet friends for a beverage. The staff is very helpful in all aspects. The vibe is a great one with music and a relaxed atmosphere throughout.

Smallest room I have ever been in. If you can handle very close quarters and things like furniture hanging from the walls to be assembled as needed, then it's not a bad place. Hallways remind me of Adventure/Zork -- you are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

Visited because I used to work in the building before it was turned into a hotel. What a transformation. At least it's not a dilapidated office building anymore. It's now a social media supercharged boutique hotel /hangout.

We thought the stuff would be strong but it was weak. We ate edible chocolates and shopped some trees totalled for about 50 dollars. There's an offer. If you spend over 50 you get free dab hits. The staff is good but the stuff isn't strong enough.

Good location, comfortable room with minimal space but plenty for a weekend. We had a 4 bunk bed room . Very comfy beds. We enjoyed the complimentary " stash room" which with a room key gave you access to extra pillows, soap, blankets.... Etc. The room overall I would recommend. Thea bar/ food in hotal is lacking service and the roof top bar for us was not our thing. We just wanted a place to get a few drinks but apparently you really need reservations for the roof top bar. I'd recommend staying here but doing your dining and drinking else where.

Lite sleepers should avoid the Moxy at all costs. While staff are good and the food options are top notch in the cafe and restaurant, the hotel experience falls badly short. 3am rubbish trucks clear the side alley every night. You won't get one solid nights sleep

The rooms are tiny!...a shoebox with two beds, a bathroom and shower. No closet; just pegs along the wall to hang your clothes. Adequate for max two people. Three or more? Fugettaboutit! They do have a small clothes steamer in the bathroom to dewrinkle your clothes. Nice. Great lounge with a bar on the second floor with lots of space and comfy chairs to do work. The room deserves a two because it's tiny; the hotel rates a four for the lounge on the second floor. Overall, a three. Could be a two rating because we won't be back unless it's just two of us staying.

The good: the hotel was good and central. Perfect location. Very modern, the roof is good to visit. There was always someone at reception to ask questions.

Bad: The room is minimal, we barely fit our bags. The bed was pressed against the walls. The bathroom has a glass door, you can hear everything.
The worst thing is the noise from the air conditioning, sometimes we had to turn it off to be able to rest well. One expects something more modern, seeing the quality of the hotel.

We visited the rooftop bar for lunch, but after seeing how dirty it was, including the cutlry and glasses given with the drinks. We paid for the drinks and left.
Didnt think much of the view, mostly the rear side of taller buildings.

If Koreans see this, I hope you never come

I stayed at the nearby Marriott Vacation Club Pulse for 3 days.
Moved here on the 3rd day, all of them are the worst

1. No coffee and no water
2. Noisy opening at night (I knew the reason for having earplugs)
3. There is no refrigerator and ice buckets must be used as well.
4. Even there is only one trash on the toilet side
Asked for more and no basic memo or pen
5. The level of asking for no body lotion

Highly recommended Vacation Club Pulse, which is 5 minutes away
Korean standards are bad too, but compared to here, it is heaven

Redefines NYC small. Sink is in the same room as your bed. Thankfully there is a door to separate the toilet and shower from the bed. Totally rude front desk staff. Thank goodness I only had to stay 1 night and was able to stay at the hotel I normally stay at in NYC.

Hotel in very good location.Modern, with details of design. The only downside: the noise of the music of the disco on the top floor. It has 17 floors and we in the octave we heard the rumble. A pity!

Great hotel if you're not one of those people who for some reason feel like they need an office, kitchen, living room, and garage in their hotel room. Its amazing to walk in to a hotel that has the things you need in a hotel: a bed, a toilet, and a shower. I love their little tiny studio room. I'd live in it if I could. The elevators in this particular location can be really confusing for people. Be aware of that. If you have trouble with the elevator its most likely because you are old. Or you are engrossed on your phone while trying to operate it and not paying attention. Don't be afraid to ask someone for help with the elevators, they're used to people having trouble with them.

I loved the location of this hotel. The concept was great, as well. It was intended to be a fun, relaxing environment.

There were several things that I didn't like about it, though. First off, our room wasn't available until almost 5:00, so we decided to go up to the roof top bar. We were told to go outside and get in line, which I found to be not right to make people paying $400/night go wait in line. They started to let us up and then told us that we couldn't go up because of our sandals. I understood the logic, since they explained it was a safety issue, until later when I went by and tons of young girls were allowed up with sandals. I really feel like there was age discrimination there and that we weren't allowed up because we didn't fit with the demographinc they were looking for. It wasn't right. I felt really uncomfortable there since the average employee was probably 25. The front desk girl even complained to us about the uniform that they were supposed to wear to create the "sexy" fun vibe.

Also, the lack of service was amazing! There was no one to help with parking suggestions, no one to hail a cab, no one to bring an extra pillow, etc. We were told to help ourselves. We had to lug our own bags down to storage and then go lug them up.

The room was "micro" and once I got used to it, I did find it to be comfortable. My only issue was that I had no where to sit and had to climb over my husband to get to my side of the bed. My other issue was that the room was stifling and the thermostat only went to 68. I don't keep my house at 68 in the dead of winter. Thank goodness we had a fan!

All in all, we enjoyed the hotel, but would probably not go back for the $, especially since they really made me feel like we weren't welcome. And, it wasn't a cheap hotel, so I would have expected at least some service!

Boutique hotel with hipster vibe and a solid locat...

Boutique hotel with hipster vibe and a solid location, Moxy is definitely unique. The only thing that keeps it from a 5 star is the parking situation. While I am sure they have information about it on the website, when you pull up to the loading area no one greets you and once you get inside no one mentioned it until I asked. The parking garage next door has no affiliation and certainly acts like they are not friends. I have to ask, how does a hotel in NYC that has no parking option s, not get a deal for its guests? We paid 70 per night for parking right next door as we were tired having flown in from Hawaii, and couldn't muster the energy to negotiate finding better parking. The lobby is a little hectic, and it's not clear whether this was because it was the day before new years, or this is how the Moxy rolls. I stumbled upon kiosk and a friendly gentleman, who politely checked me in and gave me some information about the festivities going on at the hotel, two Moxy drink tokens, and handed me my keys. This is where I awkwardly asked about the parking. I did come back to ask about other parking options after turning down the 70 per day offer next door, and this is when I was given a very vague, sorry it's in you explanation and prices are hiked due to new years. We get to our room, which is, as was expected through the reviews, tight but cozy, new and kitchy. The bed fits snugly on one section of the room wall to wall, kind of like a day bed and there is zero closet space. Our suitcases filled out the remainder of the living area, which is essentially a small walkway to the door and the shower toilet. The touches are nice; tike in the tub and a play on a public swimming pool, enough hooks on the wall to hang all your clothing, and a sink in the living area outside there bathroom. These are all observations, to some they might be pros to others cons, I thought it was neat and fairly clean. (If you drop something between the wall and bed, as I did, it is lost for good unless you have the wrist if a small child, and I did see what appeared to be a yellow starburst, still wrapped. Don't know how house keeping could get to that. Overall, I am probably a little lenient, but it was a 4 star stay, and while we used the roof top bar, we were a little jetlagged/inebriated, so I cannot really speak eloquently on that subject, thoughe to rooftop is heated. Check out the parking sitch before youstay, just so you know what you are getting yourself into. Being nyc, so close to Penn station, etc...most peoplease probably hail some sort of ride to this location, and for better or worse, being in the know, or hip to the hap is what the big city is all about, so you gotta plait cool. Moxy Times Square was located perfectly for our arrival by Penn Station and destination of the Lyric Theater. The aesthetic was sleek and relaxed. The room was both functional and fun. We were frustrated though that when we checked after 5pm (an hour after official check in time) our room was not yet ready. Additionally, the elevator control system was glitchy and required several tries to work. Also, the sink our room did not drain very well and the basin flooded quickly.

I'm a big time marriott guy. This may be owned by Marriott but its not up to the standards of amenities you would except.

Is it clean? Yes. Comfortable for a small space, yes.

The have a closet on the floor called The Stash with mini ironing boards. No lotion. Spout dispensers that combine shampoo/body wash mix in the shower.

Not ideal if you are used to marriott style hotels.

They advertise mini golf, which is a joke, its not meant for playing, its a bar on a roof with a beat up mini golf turf that is for decor. Bar scene is okay. Overall hotel is just okay but I think most would find it disappointing compared to how its advertised.

This was my first stay at a Moxy hotel, and was very impressed. Lobby was very modern and vibrant, checking in and out was a breeze. Loved that the elevators were touchscreen and you had to select your floor and scan your room key to gain access. Rooms were small (to be expected in Manhattan) but very clean and chic. Free WiFi was a huge plus, and there were plenty of power outlets with built in USB ports. The one issue we ran into with the ac was taken care of and was even given a credit off the bill for the inconvenience. Do not believe any reviews that say this place is not kid friendly; I traveled with my two young boys and they had a blast. The staff was great with them, and very welcoming. Even though we didn t see many other children or families, they definitely ARE kid friendly! Will stay at Moxy again if there is a location near me!

The bathroom is separated from the very small bedroom by a translucent door. Really don't understand that decision. Also, don't stay near the top of the hotel as the rooftop bar is incredibly loud. They do provide you with earplugs though. Overall, an interesting feel to the hotel. Very welcoming staff but the facilities themselves aren't amazing.

A well placed, trendy, clean and tidy hotel in the centre of Manhattan. The rooms are very small but have essentials, steam iron, tv, hangers, air con, hairdryer, shower etc. During my stay they had a candy bar for free sweets, games in the lobby, a great working space on the first floor and a fairground themed bar on the roof! Well played Moxy.

Room was clean although very small. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Fitness center was adequate. The Moxy Bar on the second floor had a nice vibe and bartenders were friendly. However, the experience we had with the Magic Hour rooftop bar was horrible. We made a reservation through the front desk for a large birthday celebration party, some of whom were staying at the property. We were never informed that the rooftop bay required a guarantee spend of $100 per person which is in effect a $100 cover charge per person. The door personnel and manager on duty were very rude and offensive, and didn't try to assist us at all even though we were guests in the hotel and traveling from out of town. We ended up at another nearby rooftop bar that was more accommodating and happy to accept the revenue that our group generated. Even though the Magic Hour rooftop bar isn't a direct Marriott asset, they are a reflection of the Marriott brand from the customer's perspective, especially since the property recommends the rooftop bar and uses the rooftop bar in their marketing campaign. I hope Marriott takes action to ensure they treat Marriott patrons with more respect and courtesy.
