The design throughout the hotel is impressive. It doesn't make the two-meter-wide rooms any bigger either. There is a lack of opportunities to store luggage. The bed is not only too narrow, but also too short. Above the bed is the outlet for the air conditioning, which is much too loud to run all night. The windows and doors are not soundproof; all in all very noisy.

As an elite member, you get coins that you can redeem for a glass of champagne at the bar. Nice idea. But because of the reasons above, I wouldn't stay here again.

Very cozy hotel, it reminds me a lot like a hostel room in Europe sans strangers for roommates. But it's a great place to come back and rest from all the walking you've done around NYC. The earplugs they provide are very useful as the street noises can wake you up at all hours of the night. If your room is facing 7th Ave, you'll hear music from the rooftop bar. Besides the noise I really enjoyed my stay here as it was in a very convenient location.

Extremely disappointed. I was a guest at the hotel and I asked to go to the rooftop bar but was declined because of a private party (which was understood) I was told to return after 10pm. I returned and was declined entrance at the hotel lobby and was told to wait outside with non guest personnel. Being a guest for 2 weeks paying thousands does not matter to the hotel.

Very trendy and the rooms are nice (small but this is New York so...). I like the layout and the way that some of the furniture is hung from the wall to keep it out of the way until you need it. They offered a free drink token as well to use on the second floor bar and there's a rooftop bar which is really fantastic. Be sure to tell the bouncers though that you're a hotel guest (and bring your room key as a evidence), it will make your wait to get in much shorter.

If you don't know where you're going you're not going to find this place. But once you step foot inside it's quite nice. There are places that are more comfortable but for this price you can't beat it. One of the biggest draws is the bar scene. Even if you don't drink you'll have a good time because it's very welcome and comforting. It's very touristy and you don't find very many locals over here, but that's okay because you make the best of what you get when you get it!

Great hotel ... nothing to say. Excellent location
Close to all centers of interest and a metro station.
We were on the 3rd floor so no problem with the noise from the music in the bar. Impeccable housekeeping. Room and bathroom at the top ... What a positive!

Was anxious to try this place after having seen it under construction for the last couple of years.....needless to say i was a bit disappointed. The decor of the restaurant and roof-top bar was wonderful and the food selections were quite tasty and plentiful, so the restaurant gets 3-4 start for sure. The roof-top bar just wasn't my scene. The bartender acted like she wished she was ANYWHERE else; there was a mandatory coat check downstairs before we even got into the elevator and of course it was cold once we got upstairs after being assured it wouldn't be (of course); and the prices were a little steep. If you like the whole roof-top thing, then you might like it. I however wasn't the lease bit impressed.

Rooftop is alright, good crowd! Would recommend advance booking though! You get treated special only if you have a bottle service, or book a table, or stay at that hotel! They make it look like a complicated process which is not worth it. Maybe some below average music system, if you don't have any other option! Check this place.

No frills room, small. Loud street noise. Air conditioning unit compressor woke me through the night. No room service or coffee bed comfortable and the walking shower was the best feature of the room. Stage friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar is a must . Second floor bar comfortable. 17 dollars for a wine by the glass but I guess its NY. This hotel is geared towards melinials as opposed to boomers like me. I did not dine there. Close to times square and empire state building and some great restaurants. Try it you may have a different experience.

I guess it would be fine if you're there to party, but I won't ever stay there again for work. Basic needs for a business travel are non-existent - - no closet, desks, ironing setup, coffee, etc. And the rooftop bar is so loud that if you're on the upper floors you'll hear club music until 1am. Sorry Moxy, but I'm one and done.

Went for drinks at the rooftop bar. Great view of the Empire State Building even. The drinks ordered from their signature menu were really tasty but the drinks we ordered off the menu were not that good. Bring your coat during winter to sit outside with better view and order off the menu.

Room is small but clean.

Room is small but clean.
Find it puzzling that a room for $550 a night doesn't have room service for dinner hours when they have 2 restaurants on location.
So at that point... Ordered food in and Had to go down to the lobby to retrieve it ourselves.
Elevator situation is confusing for foreign visitors... had to help some people as there were no staff members around.

Good value for money. Moxy Times Square has a great location, rooms are comfy and bathroom clean. It can be a little noisy at night but only at the entrance, you don't hear a noise in the room. Breakfast is also good and at a reasonable price. Would definitely stay again!

I work in the neighborhood so i frequent this place. Love the rooftop bar, the food is yummy, the drinks are better. They have a seafood restaurant in the hotel - Legasea that has some great selections. Im very fond of the calamari!
The hotel bar has some snooty girls as waitresses, they only serve the men with any sense of urgency. If you go in with your girls, opt for the bar inside the restaurant. While there order the fried chicken to share with margaritas. My fave way to close out the week.

I just wanted to share my experience on making a reservation over the phone on June 29th. I called to make a reservation for a client and as soon as someone picked up the phone the employee said to someone else, "I don't want to answer no stupid as questions." Then had the creepiest, raspy voice that I could barely hear. It was not good and it gave a very bad impression. Then he was so slow to put my information in and not at all great to work with. I'm glad I'm not staying but hopefully it's a nice place. My suggestion is to reconsider having this person be the one to make reservations because it was creepy.

I was looking for a place to stay in NYC while interviewing for a couple of jobs, and my friend who travels for work all the time suggested the Moxy Times Square. I'm really glad I took her advice- the location was PERFECT for anything I needed, the staff were super friendly and the vibe was fun/upbeat, with a great bar and cool restaurants to choose from. I was supposed to meet up with friends during my visit and invited them all to the Moxy instead of going somewhere else, and we all had an amazing time! Also, I was really surprised at how comfy the bed was and how nice the shower/bathroom were something in this price range. I've spent a fortune on a hotel room and had way less quality amenities. I was sad to leave at the end of my three days, and I can't wait to go back!

Awesome space, Great views. It's chic. They have rotating booths. They only pitfall is the roof Toni's spit into two different areas. Maybe it's a good thing to provide options with music but one side is definitely better than the other astetically.

Omg I loved this place !!! From the time of check in until check out I enjoyed my visit ..... staff very polite , room very clean . The different sitting areas lightening was perfect ; great for couples. The DJ was cool and everyone interacted with one another and friendly . Late night security were active around the hotel so I felt safe . The only thing that had an issue with is the ac in the room wasn t as cool as I liked but after turning it off and on again it cooled the room off. Decor around the hotel was so sheek and intimate. Highly recommend staying here as I would in the future :-)

Super noisy from club till 2 AM Friday night and till 3+ AM on Saturday.. Hotels are for sleeping I always thought not for making money for the club. Hard to have both ways without better design. Staff for pillows lacking. Two calls required. Best shower ever! But hotels are for sleeping .....so.... Won t be back.

My husband and I (both in our 30's) loved this hotel. We were looking for something different from the average hotel and this place gave it to us. It was modern and hip. We even loved the extra outlets in the room. We were up on the 14th floor and could hear slight music from what I am guessing was the roof but it was barely noticeable. The only thing I can complain about is that they were out of free drink tokens and by the time we got some, we couldn't go because a private event was using that particular bar. We were there for only one night but we saved the tokens for our next trip. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others, especially the younger crowd.

Hotel definitely has personality but I was expecting a bit more. Hotel is Central to a lot of areas and was a quick walk to bus depot and downtown times square. First time to NYC so maybe this is standard but I got a suite upgrade supposedly which gave me a king size bed but the room overall was very small and didn't have even small things like a bedside table or extra towels. As well, the rooms didn't seem to be noise isolated from the outside very well but I was on the end near the street. I would have thought the 10th floor would be high enough not to hear most of that street noise. Hotel staff were very nice but you do have to go down into the basement to get your bags and sometimes took quite some time for them to find it. Smart elevators were not so smart as well which added some frustration when trying to get to different floors. Bar on 2nd floor is pretty nice and has a good amount of comfortable seating and conversation areas.I will be coming back to NYC I'm sure but I don't think I will stay here again. Hotel was fine for a one night stay but I probably wouldn't do much more than that.

Very close to Times Square so it's in a great location. Rooms are fairly cheap for the area which is surprising. They're quite small, but to be honest, if you're staying around this area, you're not spending much time inside your room anyways. It has a restaurant and a bar on the second floor, and a rooftop bar with mini golf and more (which happens to be the biggest rooftop bar in NY currently). Great and friendly staff. No parking out front on the street, so get dropped off quickly on the corner

I stayed 3 times and one needs to be aware of few things - it's not typical hotel for business travelers. Rooms are small, even for one person - almost the size of queen bed, no closets to hang your stuff, some rooms have folding tables, but mostly it's impossible to do any kind of work. The rooms are modern and well-equipped, everything is new - had no issues and everything was working fine, but climate control unit is practically connected to the bed\your head. The worst part is night club - they can go on till 3 AM and it's not just weekends, it's so loud that even on the 5th floor it felt like I was standing next to DJ, if you want to have any sleep - you should ask for a room on another side. City noise is also unbelievable and in my 20 years of travel - this is the one and only place that offers earplugs in every room. Friendly stuff, decent bar and restaurant ($$), reasonable rates and proximity to a lot of places is a huge plus.

The room was nicely decorated or designed with an industrial open concept. However, it was very small but I can bypass that as it was in Times Square. The hotel bar/lounge had a great vibes. Parking next door. I'll definitely stay there again.

--Updated review(12/2018): I am reducing my stars from 4 to 2 due to a very poor experience when I stayed in October. Service was not as good as my first stay. When it comes to payment, there appears to be a lack of training in using the systems. I paid with Marriott points but was still charged to my credit card for room. I am still trying to get my refund but Moxy NYC has not sent it. I guess I will fight the charge using my credit card.

--Original review: The hotel location is fabulous, a few blocks from Penn Station. The hotel is new and modern. I loved my room setup and it was fairly spacious. If you don't like a lot of noise, make sure you stay on a lower floor. The rooftop bar is open very late and you can hear the music on the upper floors. I took a star away for the poor service on the 2nd floor bar. The staff was slow. The bartender forgot about my drink and served my old fashioned with ice cubes even though they did have single cubes available.

The price is high at New York price, but the room is clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. Bars and cafes were also nice spaces, and the clerks were friendly, kind and fun. There is a bakery that opens from early morning and a pizza that opens until late at night. It was good. New York is certainly busy at night, but I enjoyed it the other way around. I will use it again!

Wonderful hotel near Times Square and the Garment District. Fun vibe in the lobby with games to play if you are waiting. Easy walking to many theaters. Rooms are clean and comfortable; the shower has amazing water pressure. And the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar is a treat you don't want to miss!

Came in a little early at 1pm, luckily our room was available. Cool elevator system! Room was clean, lots of hooka especially for all our coats since we came during the winter time. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, steamer, blow dryer all included. Foldable table, chair, and bag holder hung on the hooks Staff was friendly and accommodating. There's a bar and a club all in the same building giving it a Vegas feel. If you don't mind the tourist crowd, it's a great location! we

If you like tiny living this is a place for you. Spent 2 days there and selected the hotel because of rooftop bar. We were not allowed to see it or enjoy it as a guest because private bookings. Very disappointed and as a platinum member of Bonvoy I will not be recommending this hotel to any of our guests or clients.
