We liked that it was close to Times Square and easy to get to all the places we wanted. We were given the top floor as per our request. However, there was no view, just the wall. That's something we look forward to in our stays in NYC. The night life, city skyline and lights. That was missing. The room was spacious for an average city room. However, the bathroom design had flaws. The shower didn't have any curtains or doors, so the water leaked in to the room. There was no way to indicate at the door to have the room cleaned. The room service people were knocking our doors when we were sleeping. Again, no "Do not disturb" sign. The room didn't have essential toiletries and when requested, was asked to serve ourselves from "The Stash". I didn't think that was good hospitality. The elevators had this new mechanism of requesting the floor beforehand and stopping only at the floors requested outside. However, every so often they would stop at 2nd floor where they had their restaurants. Subtly pushing their marketing agenda. Also, they gave free drinks tokens while checking in. Didn't use them because the restaurants were pricey. Overall, not a pleasant stay. Will not go back.

Ear plugs are waiting for you on the nightstand because the wall/windows are so poorly insulated. There's so much noise that sleeping was very difficult. Elevator touchscreens don't work well. Rooms are small and the bed isn't very comfortable. The TV, shower, and room decor are ok.

This is a great hotel 2 minutes walk from, Times Square. Its modern and clean. The staff were very helpful and the bar/restaurant was excellent. The rooms are small and are designed as space saving rooms but they have everything you need in there. We've stayed here twice. The first room we stayed in was slightly bigger and I thought fairly spacious for a space saving hotel. The second time was a little cosier but still copable. Would definitely recommend it as its in a great location and its an overall great hotel.

The Moxy is a unique experience. I guess I wasn't expecting the kind of rooms when I booked. I especially didn't like the bathrooms. It's one large shower with a toilet and a sink. And the door to the bathroom is folding glass that you can see through. It's not very private if you're using the toilet and the person you're sharing a room with is laying on the bed and able to see you through the glass. Other than that, every single one of the staff people that helped us was awesome. Helpful in every way. All guests get free breakfast and it was incredibly good. I would recommend it if you want to be close to Times Square. It's a great Center point for most of the city.

The hotel is in a nice location. We had a double room. The room took me back to dorm life days. It was very small. If we were going to be in town longer than the 2 nights with luggage (instead of overnight bags) it would ve been an issue. More

I had a great time at the rooftop bar. My group arrived early on a Saturday and was able to get service from the bar right away. We didn't have a reservation, but there was plenty of standing room without being over crowded. The music was not to loud so we were able to talk, the lights were low and the atmosphere was very relaxed.

Wonderful hotel to stay at right in Times Square. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are ultra modern and clean but small. Still, the three of us were very comfortable. The restaurant and bar are expensive but everything we ordered was very good. The rooms are oddly quiet too.

Stayed here during opening weekend back in October. Staff were super nice and accommodating, rooms were small (I guess that's NYC) but the rooftop is very nice. They were having some huge party and since we were guests (in town for work convention) we got bracelets to the party. Free drinks and was a great time.

Just stayed here....I gave them a 1 because over the phone several times the people who answer were rude and were not knowledgeable about basic questions! Customer service on the phone is horrid...they would tell us to go down to the front desk for them to answer questions!! The rooms were clean and the staff around the lounge and downstairs were friendly!! Just don t ever call Bc they will not help you! The hotel is modern and trendy which I loved! Don t ask for directions either bc the staff either doesn t know or they will get you lost..just google everything! One other thing is we asked for towels at 7am did not receive clean towels till 9:46am...thank god I was tired!

Super modern hotel. You can already see at the reception the concept: no heavy counters or formalities. Right at the entrance has games like a giant jenga. Decoration in the industrial style, very beautiful. The shower in the bathroom is great, water with plenty of pressure. What leaves one to be desired is the size of the room. I stayed in one for 3 people and it is super cramped. The cleanliness also leaves something to be desired. Breakfast is great, nice setting, fair price and all very yummy.

Attentive staff and team members. Hotel bar on lower floor is the crown jewel. Cozy and has table games. The rooftop has awesome views. Drinks and limited tapas menu is on point. Will comeback again.

Quirky, fun, steam punkt vibe from a hotel that makes the most of the limited hotel room floor space with its room design. The music is pretty loud in the dining and common areas, so not the best place to hold a business conversation or phone call. My room had the most AMAZING water pressure, starting my days with invigorating hot shower. Great location for city sites!

Visiting New York from Canada for the first time so experience is limited but my companion and I we're very impressed. Minimilisit is the keyword on how this hotel is designed. Rooms layout and even lobby are minimalistic but that was perfect for us. Prices were the best deal we could find for our stay at the time.Would come back again if I'm ever back in the city.

Love the decor of the hotel. Very industrial feeling and unique. It's different than most hotels. Alot of self serve services like towels and toiletries. If you aren't the type that like to have room service to refresh your room daily this place is perfect. It's small and cozy.

Very disappointed by the benefits of this hotel that tonight at the top. For starters we reserve by internet and surprise to arrive, we are announced 300 dollars more and a deposit of 100 which it is charged right away. Room of 12 square meters barely and really not practical. Hotel just well located. If I have any advice to give, go to the pennesilvania which is 100 meters below. Avoid this hotel for bad surprises. I put more feet especially at this price

The location, bar and restaurant are excellent. We stayed at the 909 bedroom - and I felt like in one doll house. The bedroom was cute but very tiny, having exactly the length of the mattress. I m 5 11 and was almost impossible to move myself during the entire night, since the sound system of the TV was right on the wall touching the foot of the mattress, approximately just 7 above it, and one frame on the wall by the side of the mattress - so close as the sound system!

Perfect location for first time visitors. Pricey but that's nyc in Sep-Oct. We stayed there for 8 nights, the service was great, there is a stash with extra towels, iron, creams etc. in every floor. We loved it. We received free champagne tokens when we arrived. We had a corner queen room - the size is great for a couple and we had 4 different windows, some of then with view to the city.

Super tiny rooms, clean, good water pressure in shower. No good for work travel, or if you are a couple. Ok if all u need to do is sleep. I love Marriotts, but the missed with this concept.

This hotel is very modern and fashion. There s a cool bar and a lovely rooftop where they organize activities. Sadly when I was there from February 17 to 22 there wasn t much to do because it was cold. However I really enjoyed my stay, our 4-bed room was really clean, with a big Samsung smart tv. In the bathroom there was a big shower with shampoo and conditioner, also makeup remover wipes and the hair-dryer that I needed.
The personal was very kind with me and my family. We left our luggages the last day to their luggage-keeping service and it was free.
When we had to go to JFK airport, the girl at the reception called a taxi for us. I understood that there are special taxists who work only for the hotel. It was a big spacious car with leather seats, and the girl who drove was the kindest! For this comfortable trip we paid 75$ and we ended up happy considering that when we arrived in NY we paid 90$ (tips not included) for a normal taxi at the airport.

I absolutely recommend Moxy Hotel and if I ever come back to New York City, I ll book again one of their rooms.

Rooms are compact, but that's no surprise in NYC. Location is perfect for travelers who need to use Penn station. Clean rooms, smart use in limited space, fresh decor and I'm obsessed with the elevators. Would certainly recommend this hotel, and would absolutely stay there again!

The room was paid for by my wifes mom, when my wife arrived they automatically hit my account for the price of the room......i will be calling the better business bureau and reporting this hotel to the Manhattan DA s office on Monday morning.

Just visited, but this place is super cute. It's modern, and the decor is really on point. Gives you that Virgin Air feel. The room my friend stayed in was cozy and quaint. Perfect for a minimalist type that cares for location, but has enough coin to spend to not stay in a hostel. Definitely would recommend it. I actually work nearby, and it's next to all trains that go to midtown, and it's close enough to Times Square without the chaos. And there's food all around including fast food, Sushi, buffet, Pizza shops. Basically, you want it, it's nearby. Enjoy

A very nice hotel with a lot of traffic and youth. Very good atmosphere and attention, the staff is very friendly. Maybe a bit noisy for some but that's New York everywhere! We had an excellent stay!

Very trendy Boutique Hotel just a 5 minute walk away from Times Square ...nice minimalist rooms.... I really liked the Privacy button and the artistic decor of Rooms... the only two things that I didn't like was the elevator schematics.... 4 Dimmly lit elevators that would have you walking and shuffling back and forth to figure which one is coming first ....and the mini steam machine in the room was not convenient... really could have used an iron

Terrible customer service. Received notification that the room was ready. Went to check in and they said the room was given to someone else. Was told we we get called when the next room was available and the call never came. Had to go check hours later and the room was given away again!

It's not about the room size... A European feel meets NYC edge in Moxy. Very nice accommodations and the entertainment via bar area and living room concept has great appeal. No parking and of course this is the one trip I have a car but if you can avoid bringing a car to NYC your better off. Food from the restaurant was good quality.

It's a good hotel if you know what to expect. Rooms are small, even by NYC standards, but are modern. Common areas of hotel are great. TripAdvisor reviews say it is loud in guest rooms, but I've stayed here twice and that has never been an issue. Double/queen rooms are fine for one person but would be way too small for traveling with a spouse/companion. They also offer rooms with two beds or even 4 bunks. Might be larger. It's not a Courtyard or a Marriott, but if you know what to expect, it's a great value and fun.

This hotel seems to be trying too hard and also not enough. There is no security- you can just walk in off the street or come down from the public rooftop bar and access bedroom floors without a keycard. I asked the manager about this and he said that they don't want to "grill" their guests. Also, the doors to the hotel rooms have a frosted glass window in them which does not put you at ease given the lack of security.

Other than that, the staff is clueless. I tried to go into one of the hotel restaurants, which was closed because they just opened, and I asked the hostess if there was anywhere else to eat nearby and she said she didn't know of anywhere in the area. For a hotel that boasts themselves as a "Times squ are" hotel, your staff should know at least 1 place to eat outside of your hotel-there are hundreds in the area.

The bathroom does not have an electrical outlet in it, and the hairdryer cord is not long enough to reach any mirror from an outlet.

The hotel is nice for now, but just because it is brand new. Their $99 room offer on the cocktail menu of the rooftop bar suggests that it will quickly become another sleezy, fast trend, spot. It's very strange that Marriott would take this property on.

My daughter and I booked a queen/bunk room at the Moxy for our 5 night trip to NYC and were very happy with our stay. Such a cool vibe and we loved all the special details that make this hotel feel upscale. The rooms were very "cozy" and small, but had everything we needed to feel comfortable. My only complaint about the room was the very small window. Ours looked directly out to a brick wall, so it was dark in our room throughout the day and felt a little like a dungeon. I'm a huge natural light lover, so this bugged me a little, but for those who like to sleep in and have a dark atmosphere it would be no problem. We loved the Bar Moxy on the 2nd floor when we needed a little more space to hang out and chill. And the location was perfect. Close enough to Times Square and Theater District to be able to walk, but out of the chaos, hustle and bustle. We would book again!

Fun hotel with friendly staff. The roof bar is one of the nicest in NYC (due to constructions/zoning rules, NYC doesn't have as many good rooftop spaces as Chicago). The hotel room was small with minimal amenities, but Starbucks and everything you need can be found in a 2-block radius.

The hotel is fab! Lovely staff, very clean and has a good atmosphere. We only had one complaint as a group, which was that we booked this hotel, in part, because of the rooftop bar and we were disappointed that we had to wait in the hour long queue with the public to get access to it. I don't think you can list rooftop bar as a perk, when hotel guests have just as much access to it as everyone else in Manhattan. The toilet doors in the rooms were also frosted glass, which means that I did witness my friends doing their business. That being said we did have a wonderful time here and I would recommend giving the hotel a try (just skip the rooftop bar!).
