I have listened to "Running to win" with Pastor Lutizer for a # of years. I was able recently to buy a small radio that enables me to hear the messages clearer. I thank God for the running to win broadcast i can grow from daily. I pray for the word to continue to come forth. How can we hear without a preacher. How can he preach unless he is sent.
Prayers are answered, not always yes, but God knows Best. People care and listen and pray for you. People at the church we attend always ask,"How are you?" But never call you all week, it'd be a wonderful change for,"Who do you believe in?" Erwin Lutzer, your messages are so blessed that I try to write them down. Leaving them for my grandchildren..Thank you for being on YouTube. God continue to bless all in shot of these blessed messages.Sister in Christ Jeri
A jem of a church; historic and round! Enormous wall of organ pipes! I was able to graduate from Moody Distance Learning and the ceremony was here. My kids still ask if they can go to the "fancy round" church! I love Moody! They hold to God honoring integrety and being mission minded for Christ while still being relevant and welcoming to the changing world/culture.
As a Christian, all I can say is that if ever church in our country had messages like those of Dr. Lutzer, we would have a different country where sin would have to hide as it once did, instead of being glorlified in public.
I realize it is the last of the last days, more than likely, but many true Christians can not find a church any more that honors Jesus Christ and His Word. Most churches in my area are in love with Rich Warren and his devil driven messages.
Do not give up or give in, keep on the narrow path until our Lord returns for His Church.
They have definitely changed a lot for the worse from what Moody had envisioned. The teaching, music, stand on the bible and standards have all changed and gone way downhill. Today I wouldn't evan attend Moody Church even if I lived next door to it.
Moody Church puts on some of the best events. Whether it be the children's choir or the symphony orchestra, there is talent to behold. The vibes ring of community and the congregation represents as much. This is a cool place to come and appreciate the word.
Visiting from arizona. Enjoyed the sermon and everyone was very welcoming. Praise was fantastic! A very blessed church!! A Puerto Rican welcoming host (forgot his name) he was exceptionally considerate and helpful!
I am so....thankful to God for this church, there is never a dull moment in this place, God has really bless this place. It's made to fir your every need, weather you are young or older it has everything you are looking for spiritual growth in every capacity, so if you are looking to prepare yourself for the kingdom of God, this is your church .
Beautiful church great people and awesome programs, of course not to hard to imagine everything is 5 star being the most affluential church in Chicago.
Moody Church has a partnership with my school. They have become stakeholders that are vested in our success. They are beyond helpful to the entire school community. I can't thank them enough.
My daughter graduation was in this place is big but the security was realy rude the guy pretended he didn't listened and kept hand pointing out and guards yelled all the time and only opened one section of the upper deck
What an amazing place! This place is just beautiful and I believe significant! Doesn't matter what words I try to use they will merely pale in comparison to what I'm actually trying to convey.
All staffs are humbles and welcomes. Well organized church for big crowds. Great kids programs from music to bible teaching. Recommend the summer bible camp for all children. Awesome.
Long time ago I went to Moody bible college taken up bible course.and had to go home.and taken bible college at home and come back and taken the test at the college and went to moody bible service and enjoy myself.with all creed of color.where sweethen and george Beverly shade singing unto then and other.
Went to go see candle light carols and it was amazing. I m a follower of moody radio, and it was my first time experiencing this church. Would love to attend a Sunday service one day.
I have been at Moody Church since 1997. I was drawn to the church because of the sound biblical teaching of Dr Lutzer. My spiritual walk has gotten stronger since being there. The key is to get involved and volunteer in a ministry. As you meet other christians, you form relationships; you pray for one another, and you have the opportunity to grow spiritually because of all the Equipping Classes that are offered. I love the diversity. Would not want to be in a church unless it was ethnically diverse. If you are looking for a church that will preach only the Bible, a church that will embrace you and make you feel welcome, and a church where you can understand who Jesus is, and the importance of Him coming and dying for mankind, Moody Church is the church for you. Come and check us out. We will love to have you.
Many a time, the Moody church seemed like an honorable place. At one point, it even felt like home. No- let me rephrase that. The moody church was home. However, it is not my home anymore. I am writing this review- a review as John Doe- Although suffice it to say I am a very young and scared person who has been attending D.L Moody's church ever since I came into this world. I grew up here, with my family, spending many years and years pouring my heart and soul into who (or what) I thought Moody was all about. But I was wrong. This church told me that they loved me and thought my family was a treasured part of the Moody church. But the amount of abandonment and pain the pastoral staff has put us through recently has been astounding. For a person who has been attending for years, the amount of neglect and betrayal I have felt by moody, a section of its congregation and most of all, the pastoral staff, has slipped me into a state of distraught. I have done nothing wrong and am a victim of verbal, physical, mental, spiritual abuse by someone who the church is now shielding and prioritizing over me- and others who have been his victims. I will not say much on my personal matter, but all YOU- the person reading this review needs to know- is that this person who has done so much damage in my life and is of very close relation to me is also my abuser. My abuser has also been attending moody for some time and has regularly been serving for over a decade. Recently, he has admitted to doing sinful and evil things which have gone un-confessed to the church; but the pastoral staff is doing nothing about these confessions. They haven't asked this evil abuser to step down from ministry. They have disbelieved my word as a victim. Again, I feel betrayed as a person who grew up here and now is being ignored by the people I thought cared about me most. Pastor Bill, Rev Michael Best, and the elders are indifferent people who have largely been acting lazy, care nothing of accountability or church justice. I am not afraid to speak up. I hope you, dear reader, do not think I am being dramatic or looking for attention. Again, I speak as someone who has been at Moody for years and felt loved by them at one time. Now I am ignored and pushed utterly to the curb by the moody pastors who have known me from my birth and choose to favor the word of my abuser- someone who forbids sadness and true healing, and would sew a mouth shut or a smile on just to fool or deceive. There are good people on this church, but none of them are on the pastoral staff. There is nothing outwardly ''wrong'' with this church- there are very good things about it- but please take my word when I say they care nothing of true accountability. If you choose to attend, know that in the end of things, they will truly do nothing for you. I say this as a sad and broken hearted person who has been attending here for years. This is no longer my home and has dissapointed me, greatly
God has blessed this Church with a passion for the gospel that is in everything they do. The preaching is fantastic, and their ministries are fervent in evangelism and discipleship.
The word of God is written in a book that book is called bible, the Bible is the true word of God, it is the manual of you of each human being created as the Lord and giver of life. REALLY THE WORD OF GOD IS PREDICTED, SERVICES. 9:45 AM ENGLISH, 11:30 AM IN SPANISH.
Grew up here since I was just a kid. It's my beautiful home and I have some of the greatest memories here. Both monumental and ordinary. The entire church body is welcoming and warm to every outsider, no matter who they are. They're message is so genuine and real and the history of D.L Moody himself is a rich account. The beauty and charm of Moody could never truly have a cessation and the caring resilience is a thing seldom found in other churches. Faithfulness reflects through Moody like the intricacy of the stained glass windows inside and shines on tawnily like the glistening embers of blood, blue diamonds, and the mist anterior to a rainbow both. I would not be who I am today without Moody church. 8/20/2018.
I love Moody Church is a place of worship. You can grow in different community. There are different classes of learning about the gospel. God loves everyone of you.
The Moody Church is the best place to worship God and learn how to walk God's word. I love the Lord Jesus and so grateful that He led my family and I to worship at The Moody Church. I was baptized in 1988 at TMC. I got married in 1992 at TMC. My two sons Nathanael and Daniel were dedicated and later baptized at TMC. My favorite pastor is Dr. Bill Bertsche. No Kidding. He is so funny. With his support and gentle guidance my family and I moved to live in North Africa where we spent almost seven years. It was our best time period. May God greatly bless The Moody Church Family. Raouf Boulos
Ups: sound biblical theology, loving community of believers, great kids programs, beautiful facility, welcoming, many Sunday school classes to choose from, all are welcome, food is a big thing here, fearless preaching of the gospel (Stezer is the current Interim; he's different from Lutzer but great), parking is easy, endless serving opportunities, diverse, and safe.
Downs: 1) small group life here is lacking. I spent a whole year trying to find a small group, gave up, and formed my own. 2) the staff doesn't answer emails, like ever. 3) there is little variety and no style rotation for our worship music. Same faces every week; after two years it feels mechanical, exhausted, and rote. If I could change anything about my church, it would be this.
A place where you can openly express your love for Jesus Christ. Diversity of people of all races. A place where you can feel the spirit of Jesus. And the choir sing like angels. I love you Jesus Christ!
As a Christian, this church has disappointed me. I love Christ, I love Jehovah God and His Holy Spirit. I do not love people who stray from the Gospel Truth in their sermons. I attended this church for a season and have heard taught in the main hall messages such as, "do not tell people that Christ is the reason for the season(Advent sermon)", and "we need new doors. Please be generous with your donation"- you should never deny the Almighty God and you give as your heart is willing. I have enjoyed many times I went, maybe five of which were very good. Their issue is organization. They are missing an executive minister, and a bunch of (pardon my disrespect) misinformed people with likely niche religious backgrounds are invited to speak; maybe students or graduates from their college. Regardless of my disagreement with their message, they offer food and coffee before service, their fellowship is bountiful, and their Founder's week final day was very good. A friend of mine is married to the main guitarist/singer, and their music is more than acceptable.
