After being a lifelong renter in Richmond and many cities I have unfortunately discovered Monroe Properties is a very disingenuous management company. They make it nearly impossible to fix anything because you have to sign into their outdated web portal to file a, work order . Despite the company attempting to digitize all customer service, the staff seems to be available if the request is simple to fix. Otherwise they consistently dodge your calls if it is something that may cost time or money to fix.

Monroe Properties is amazing! I was blessed to have been able to work with Kayleigh. I was calling on a Wednesday and got an apartment by the following Friday. I called other rental properties seeking to get an apartment in the same week, Kayleigh was the only person that had taken my request seriously. On my way to meet her to view the apartment, I was stuck in traffic. I arrived later than scheduled... much later.... and she still met with me even after her working hours. Kayleigh you are an amazing asset to Monroe Properties, because of your commitments I was able to find a beautiful property that fit my needs.

Key features that stood out among the rest:
- online friendly (paying rent and signing contract)
- pet - friendly property
- patient friendly staff (Kayleigh)
- military specials

**** It has been 6 months renting from Monroe Properties and Kayleigh continues to give amazing customer service. I went to Richmond ASPCA to adopt a dog; one requirement when interested in adopting a pit bull mix from ASPCA is to verify that the renters welcomes all breeds (specifically pit bulls). The Monroe Properties Rules and Regulations state:

Pets: Your pet(s) must first be approved by management, and management has full and sole discretion in the matter. If your pet is approved, it is with the understanding that it will not cause any damage, disruptions, or otherwise disturb neighbors. Having a pet is a privilege that can be revoked, and management reserves to do so at its sole discretion. Should your pet privileges be revoked, your pet will no longer be allowed on the premises but you will still be bound by all other provisions of your lease. When in common areas, dogs must be on leashes at all times. Yards and gardens are not to be used as pet bathrooms. You are responsible to pick up after your pet.

Showing this to the ASPCA did not confirm that pit bulls were permissible. Monroe Properties office hours are during Monday through Friday, I was at the ASPCA on a Saturday. I was desperate because the dog that I wanted was amazing and I felt that if I didn't get him that day, I would miss the chance to add him to the family. I texted Kayleigh a video of the dog and asked her if having a pit bull mix was allowed. When I texted her, it was near closing time, so I didn't get the response in time to be able to adopt the dog. I figured it wasn't meant to be. Point is, no matter what day or time, I have been helped, and have also received responses in any questions or needs. Now I am not saying that blowing up her phone on a Saturday was appropriate, but what I am saying: She cared. Thank you Kayleigh and Monroe Properties for providing me an amazing experience with our rental agreement and your customer service.

We leased a unit in the Brookdale Condominiums for one year and loved it! We would have renewed our lease if we weren t moving out of state. Our maintenance requests were addressed immediately, and Jay Austin was very friendly and accommodating to our credit situation. The property was well maintained and our building was very quiet. If we move back to Virginia we would love to use Monroe Properties again!

I lived with them for a year and a half and never had any issues. I would have stayed if I hadn't purchased a house. Everyone was always really nice in the office maintenance guys were normal and non threatening. Maintenance was always quick. The property was always in good shape. My security deposit was returned in full and on time. My only complaint was the walls were thin, but that's apartment living.

Monroe Properties is one-of-a-kind,
providing excellent service to me and mine.
Oh, this old house sparkles and shines;
Monroe Properties, you are mighty fine.

Like fingers in a glove, we are such a great fit.
Those maintenance orders are filled lickety-split.
Ask any question, they'll give you the hot tip.
Monroe Properties, with you I shall stick!

The gentleman who came to perform the move out inspection told me specifically that I would have to pay $90 for cleaning. Among our differences in opinion, I understood. However, after getting my security deposit it listed painting charges of ~$280. Also they tried to take $25 from a missing key when I physically handed them the keys. This is a typical property management company taking advantage of the security deposit. Instead of receiving ~$760 back, I got ~$480. The gentleman was unresponsive and pushing me to the office. The office was pushing me back to him.

Do not expect to receive the full security deposit with this company. If I were you, I d choose another property management company.

Best apartment searching experience from the beginning. Kristine was my leasing agent and took the time to listen to what I liked and found the right home for me! We walked right in and I fell in love. Even after signing, any questions, maintenance questions, or in general important information to share with residents, Monroe Properties is timely and beyond helpful. I fully recommend living in any of Monroe Properties.

Monroe Properties managed my condo in Richmond while I was living overseas for 9 years and I only had one tenant for the entire time. I think that already says a lot about how smoothly they managed it. It gave you a peace of mind to know that your property is being taken care of by professionals.

Then the time came when I decided to put my condo on the market and again and I chose to go with Will Hymes from Monroe as my realtor since knew the property and the market in and out. Will was very responsive, always gave me his honest opinion and sound advice on required repairs/improvements, how to market and how to price it. And despite listing the property during holidays season and having the unit next door already listed for months, we received an offer in 3 days and proceeded with closing in just a little over a month. Monroe also took care of all repairs requested by the buyer quickly with very reasonable costs. All of this was done while I was not even present in the US.

In a nutshell, I couldn't be happier with my decision to go with Monroe and would recommend it to anyone seeking for professional property management company/realtor in Richmond area.

I've lived at 908 Perry Street for almost two years and I haven't had any issues so far. Maintenance is quick and helpful. Management is professional. Also, Manchester has really grown on me and it looks like they own half the neighborhood. I can't see myself renting from another landlord in Richmond!

I had a rather exceptional experience with Monroe Properties.

I was moving up from Florida so I didn't have a chance to see the properties myself. One of the associates, Morgan, went out of her way to record and send me complete video tours of each place that interested me.

One of the property managers, David, worked with me for the duration of my stay. Whenever I had a maintenance issue or even so much as a question about the property, lease, anything - he always responded within 24 hours.

In the middle of my lease, I got a new job up north and had to move to out early. David worked with me to advertise the vacancy and get a new tenant in so I could successfully terminate my part of the agreement.

I had zero problems getting my deposit back. I cleaned the place, made sure to have maintenance walk through the place afterwards, and they quoted my refund (on paper) on the spot. The check came in the mail 45 days later.

Richmond itself grew on me very fast - it's quickly becoming a cultural hot spot. If I'm lucky enough to find myself here again, Monroe would be the first landlords I'd contact.

Just moved into a new place David was very courteous, polite, and helpful, I was in a rush to find a new place and he had me ready to go in a couple hours. He was able to answer all my questions and made sure I had everything I needed for my move in.

I enjoy living at 1200 Semmes! Apt space is kind of small but a great location, close to downtown but not downtown! Roof top is nice! Parking along the side of the building for guest. This building is definitely filled with young professionals. Maintenance man Orlando is the best! He is super responsive, explains exactly what he is fixing, how long it will take and stays a good distance away from resident while he is in the apt. Orlando never complains and goes the extra mile. Cons are that the carpets in the hallways look dirty, tons of spots like in a dorm or college style apt. The cleaning lady definitely vacuums and I think steams them but the carpets need to go in my opinion. 1200 Semmes is like a place you live after college and before you mature enough to live in rent/own a home.

I have lived at Monroe Properties Lee School Lofts...

I have lived at Monroe Properties Lee School Lofts for about 7 months and thus far I have been very happy with the company. When searching for an apartment my leasing agent, (Cristin) was extremely helpful in showing my girlfriend and I all of the properties, including ones that I didn't even think to inquire about. The building where I am staying now has had excellent upkeep throughout the entirety of my stay including cleaning, painting, and consistent mowing and general lawn care. Any service issues I have are answered quickly, even though they have the online submit process which I have had poor experiences with other Richmond companies in the past they are still quick to answer.
The emergency maintenance line is efficient which most impressed me. Ex. The other week a fire alarm was going off because a tenant had moved out and the battery had died. Even though the fire department came they couldn't take down the alarm. At one in the morning the maintenance head came and replaced the battery so the tenants wouldn't have to hear the alarm go off again.
The property itself is very nice and I love the location. It was certainly the nicest 1 bedroom apartment I looked at by a long shot. I read some of the older negative reviews of the company before moving in and I can happily say that none of them seem to be accurate.
The only reviews I have seen that I cannot attest to are the ones complaining about the excessive increase in rental price upon annual renewal. As I have only lived here for less than a year I haven't seen the increase yet but I hope it is reasonable as I plan to stay here for the foreseeable future. I would definitely recommend Monroe to anyone.

This company honored a deal they never expected to make, and stuck to it. The integrity of this property management company severely outclasses every other management company I have ever worked with in the Richmond area. I could not recommend them enough.

We had an appointment scheduled with Rebecca Taylor for a Sunday to view a condo on Kensington. My wife and I traveled into the city, and stood in the rain for 30 minutes. She didn't show up. We called the office and left her 3 messages on monday. She didn't return our calls. I finally asked to speak to someone else. They informed me that the place had been rented the previous Friday. She still hasn't graced us with a call.

Needless to say, she sucks. And so does this company.

Decent places, but not cheap for what you get. Maintenance is good, but our building is hyped up to have free internet included in its pricey rent, but the internet goes out every 30 minutes (literally) and has only gotten worse over the time. I haven't been able to connect in the days. Do NOT rent through them without a thorough inspection of every little detail. They will not go above or beyond for you, ever.

I currently live in Jackson Commons and I can't wait to move out. This apartment complex is like a college dorm. The tenants have a lot of parties and play loud music. You can smell weed in the common areas. The tenants dump trash in the stairways, lobby areas and the grounds. The building was recently vandalized. Your vehicles are not safe and because of the auto theft the insurance in this area are sky high. Monroe properties do not have a buy out option in the lease. Management especially Ian will lie to you and tell you this building is quiet and this is a great place to live downtown. However that is not true. Also when you complain about the issue management does little to nothing to help. I have called the police over a dozen times. Management will be nice to you until after you sign the lease. Management is only concerned about leasing apartments and collecting rent. They do not care if you have an enjoyable experience living here. All they want is your rent money. So beware!

I lived at 815 Porter Street in the Manchester Lofts in 2013-2014. My experience with Monroe Properties was wonderful and I never experienced any issues. The maintenance team was great to work with and very efficient. Their office staff was always kind and professional. I always recommend Monroe Properties to any friends I have moving to the Richmond area or those who already live in Richmond and are looking to relocate. They have a wonderful selection of homes, apartments and lofts in many different locations within the Richmond area. I honestly loved living in Manchester. It is a wonderful neighborhood with great people and I felt very safe. Overall Monroe Properties is a fantastic company run by wonderful individuals.

I ve been renting with Monroe Properties for almost a year now and I am super happy with them!! Maintenance responds quickly when it comes to fixing the things in the apartment (usually within 24 hours). They even leave a note on your door when they ve serviced your unit. The employees at the leasing office are always very helpful and willing to answer all questions and respond quickly to calls. Rent can easily be paid online through website which makes it easier. Definitely plan on staying with this company :)

I parked next to the building to take groceries up because I have a street parking spot, after I put all the frozen groceries away I gathered my car cleaning supplies because I was going to use the hose on the side of the building to wash my car which is what it is intended for, as I walked outside my car was nowhere s to be seen, I called the number on a sign I had seen an the towing company said management called to have my car towed... I told them that is absolutely ridiculous I went upstairs to put away groceries an to grab my cleaning supplies to wash my car. I just had to use the last 150$ to get my car back; not to mention the past two days people have parked their car/truck in the same spot for more than 5 hours and last night some one parked in the spot all night! I expect a response back.

I am in transition to move from Atlanta, GA to Richmond and pretty much had to find a place without seeing it. David from Monroe Properties was MORE than helpful. I responded to one craigslist ad regarding a 1 bedroom near downtown, got a response from him within 24 hours and he met me that same day (after I changed the appointment time 3 times on him). Even through all of my schedule changes, he remained helpful, upbeat, pleasant and professional. When I told him that the apt did not fit my needs, he quickly went back to his portfolio base and contacted me daily until we found the perfect fit for me! He face-timed me, sent me pictures and even counted steps for me wall to wall so that I could tell whether or not the apt would work for. (Again, I was back in Atlanta and couldn't see the unit.) I was able to pay over the phone and electronically signed my lease. Really a seamless process and I couldn't thank David enough for being so great during my search. If I move again and am still a renter, I certainly will be contacting him again to assist me in my search. Great experience so far and I am excited to become a tenant in just one week!

I did not care for Monroe Properties. Very hard to get a call or email back from someone at the office. I hate that you have to PAY extra to pay your rent online... so I had to personally drive my rent check to them each month. I refuse to pay extra for a service that should be included. Also, when they decide they want to do maintenance work on your house... they will just show up and leave a mess. They have broken glass (from the outside) and I thought that someone was breaking in... come to find out that they were fixing the window ... glass was left on the kitchen floor because... they broke it from the outside?!? Why?!?! Clean up after yourself!!! This was not the only time they entered the house and didnt clean up their mess. Awful... awful...

Monroe Properties is great! My apartment is definitely the highest quality apartment I've ever lived in, and any maintenance issues have been taken care of immediately. Cristin was super helpful in making sure we found a perfect place.

I feel like I need to leave a review simply because there are so many negative ones. I lived at a Monroe properties managed location for over a year. I m only not with them currently because they didn t have an apartment available in the neighborhood I wanted to live in when I needed to move.

I had a great experience with Monroe properties. The apartment was in great condition when I moved in. The maintenance did a wonderful job turning it. I didn t have any problems with the management or maintainanace while I lived there. The couple of times I had an appliance or electrical issue, they responded promptly (less than a day!!) and fixed it as soon as they could. The apartment itself was in good condition and was definitely quiet enough. The only times I had issues was a couple of Saturday nights close to holidays (New Years Eve) and that s to be expected when you live downtown. The apartments are priced reasonably, the maintenance and management team are fantastic, and they made moving out just as easy as moving in! I got a very reasonable amount back on my security deposit as well. I hope I get to rent with them in the future.

My husband spent 8 years in the Marines and proudl...

My husband spent 8 years in the Marines and proudly served three tours in Iraq. It s completely despicable that a company would deny a Veteran to live somewhere because of the breed of his service animal.

We have two dogs. Our beautiful service animal, Dallas, who weighs 60 pounds, is playful, obedient, friendly, non-aggressive and very intelligent. Our 8 pound Yorkie is also playful, full of energy and very friendly. Our service dog is so tolerant that he puts up with our yorkie jumping all over him, biting his ears and stealing his toys. You wouldn t know it by just looking at him but Dallas is highly trained to do a few very important jobs. He is an essential and necessary part of our family. He is irreplaceable and has changed my husband s life. He is allowed on planes, in stores, in cabs, in restaurants and anywhere else that my husband needs to go yet not in your apartment complex? Even though you claim to be dog friendly? You specifically told my husband that in order to get this apartment, he would have to Give Dallas away." With the necessary paperwork it is not only very offensive that you rejected us due to Dallas's breed but illegal.

Dallas isn t aggressive or dangerous. We can give you numerous examples and references to back this up. After spending 5 minutes with him, you would automatically be able to tell. Dallas lays on the ground when other dogs walk by because he was trained to do that in order to show that he isn t aggressive. He gives hugs and kisses and is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever had in my life. Dallas is a Pit bull and because his breed has a bad reputation, you have decided to use that reputation to illegally deny us an apartment. You are unfairly stereotyping our service dog.

When we spoke with the leasing agent we were told that there were no problems with us getting the apartment. My husband has no judgements on his account and makes over 100k a year. Then, we mentioned Dallas and his breed and everything changed. The leasing consultant let us know that there has NEVER been a situation where you have allowed pit bulls even if it was a service animal. This means that you have not only unfairly and illegally stereotyped our service dog but others as well.
This is completely unacceptable behavior. You should be embarrassed to even stand behind such a nonsense policy.
My husband, along with many others, served our country proudly without judgement or discrimination. They deserve your respect and absolutely do not deserve this type of unfair treatment.

My roommate and I lived in the Lee School Lofts for 2 years, and it was a great experience from start to finish. We never had any issues, the maintenance staff always came in a timely manner and fixed our minimal problems. We loved all the space and the beautiful walk-in closets, as well as the open lay out. And having designated parking in the Museum District was great and much appreciated! There are a lot of perks that come along with renting from Monroe Properties, and I miss them often. They typically have small areas on each property designated for allowing your dog off the leash in a fenced area, which is brilliant. David Steiger was always great to work with at Monroe, he goes above and beyond for his tenants, always with a smile and a positive attitude. He always made sure we were well taken care of, I would highly recommend renting from Monroe Properties, the prices are affordable for a large amount of space and big closets. I miss the Lee School Lofts a lot.

I had a really great experience renting from Monroe Properties. They were very responsive to my needs, and they do a great job maintaining the property. I move around a lot for work, and these are by far the best landlords I have had.

I currently moved into an apartment in the Richmond area! I have been communicating with the lovely Kristine ever since I applied for the apartment. She has been so patient with me, and so kind to answer any questions I have! So far, so good. Me and my pup are enjoying the area and warming up to our new home!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I am completely shocked. We received only $150 out of the $1075 put in even though the apartment was no where near bad condition when we left. As a matter of fact majority of the damage was done to the apartment because of the extremely poor maintenance.
Last year they told us they had to replace our apartment windows. We had to live in apartment with no windows for an entire MONTH !! It was boarded up with just some lousy wooden plank. We had inch thick dust during that time. Not only that the people working on it broke my wooden chest which was never reimbursed as was promised. And even after they put it back in, they were done horribly. The insulation of the apartment was completely shot and I had to pay exorbitant electricity bill thereafter for a year. They did not even put back all the blinds properly which I had to do by myself.
I am not even going near the constantly clogging kitchen sink.
Despite all of that trouble all I got back was lousy 150$ in security deposit.
I am highly disappointed in the management of this property. I was warned about this kind of behavior by previous tenants.
I never expected full money back but what has been sent back is extremely unfair. And this after living in variety of apartments all over downtown Richmond. This has been the worst experience so far.

Lived here for 2 years and had problems from the start. Moved out mid-April, been 45 days and still waiting for security deposit. No response to emails. Probably headed to court. Nice.

The apartment I rented has many excellent qualities (efficient AC/heating, ample and well-lit parking with easy and safe access, clean/functional kitchen and laundry appliances, well-kept property grounds, responsive maintenance team, and unbeatable sound insulation between apartments), but a property is only as good as its landlord. Although our complex had multiple issues with the internet service via Amtech Comunications (for which I entirely blame Amtech itself), Will Hymes at Monroe Properties was easy to reach (Monday through Friday), and was quick to intervene each time on my behalf. Despite my internet problems, I have been very pleased with the level of communication established between tenants and leasers.

My only qualm with this property seems to be a common complaint among tenants in most apartment complexes in Richmond, which is the lack of recycling. This would be a wonderful addition!

Monroe Properties' 1200 Semmes building is top-notch. Not only are the apartments luxurious, but the community itself is very nice. This is an excellent option for those looking for more standardized, common-sense apartment layouts (vs. the super quirky floorplans of Manchester - which can be a pain when sound starts traveling!).

My leasing experience was a great one thanks to property manager Dotti Rickard, who answered ALL of my (many) questions with detail and sincerity. I also saw how she interacts with her residents - she treats them with incredible care. I can't say enough about her.

After touring 30 other apartment complexes, it was clear 1200 had the best service of them all. Maintenance was on site both times I visited in the beginning, which was a deal maker.

There are different floorplans for different budgets, so there's something for everyone. This building has the best 2-bedroom packages I've seen in Manchester (including the Terraces).

I highly recommend this property.

Horrible management company. They don't keep track of the master keys. Management is so rude. There are never parking spaces and they have entered my apartment when I was in the shower.

I rented a two bedroom apartment in a historic building in Manchester. Monroe properties did a wonderful job managing the place. Maintenance was above and beyond, considering the old condition of the house and the upkeep required. I especially appreciated Brian's careful attention to the management of my place, helping to resolve all issues to satisfaction. The place was spotless on move-in and the move out process was straightforward and transparent. I recommend Monroe properties without reservation - they made every aspect of the rental experience easy on me.

If you do not care that much about the Security De...

If you do not care that much about the Security Deposit, you have come to the wrong place.

I was perfectly satisfied with Monroe Properties (if we do not count that sometimes the maintenance people would leave trash behind) until it came to the Security Deposit. I first learnt from my colleagues who were staying at the same building that none of the people they knew ever got their Security Deposit back. I was shocked. People I knew, including myself always get full refund of our Security Deposit from previous landlords. Probably my colleagues friends did a bad job cleaning the apartment, I thought. Well, it doesn't seem to be the truth as in my case. I spent almost all night cleaning the apartment as I used to do. But still, I got little refund.

Why? What happened?

First of all, Monroe Properties don't have a correct record showing whether the tenant was present during the inspection. I was present and had waited for the guy more than 45 min after he was supposed to show up. However, the letter I received together with the little deposit refund said I was not present. Can you believe that?

Secondly, the guy who did the inspection even didn't have with him the move-in sheet I filled out when I first moved there. How was he supposed to know whether the damage was already there before I moved in? Just going around and randomly marking down everything so that the tenants don't get his or her refund? For your information, a plastic paper towel holder in the kitchen was broken when I first moved in and I spent nearly $14 to replace it with a new steel one and left it there when I moved out. Pity, they ignored it.

Thirdly, during the inspection I was told by the guy that since I occupied the apartment for more than one year, there will be an automatic reduction of $250 from the painting cost later on. I was really surprised to see that there was a $412.5 charge for painting. When I asked them to show me the invoice they received from the third party who did the service, they completely ignored my phone call, my message and my email. Something unspeakable was going on? You tell me.

Well, I have to be fair. There are a few good guys in the company too. I would particularly give my thanks to David Steiger, who, though ignored my emails regarding to the deposit refund as his other colleagues, helped me tremendously to get the apartment re-rented.

Pieces of advice for you when considering renting with Monroe Properties:
1. Ask them to bring the move-in sheet you filled out (taking pictures at that time for your own record would also be a good idea) when they do the inspection.
2. Record the inspection so that no one can deny what they had said.
3. If you ever encounter an unpleasant situation, please share with us. In the end, I hope, they will address these issues and together, we could make a better life for ourselves as tenants.

Will at Monroe Properties helped me buy a house. He went above and beyond during the entire 6 months we worked together.
- He was very responsive and stayed on top of everything even when he was busy
- He was straightforward about possible property issues, gave advice on fixes/house maintenance, and recommended contractors and handymen
- He thought of ways to make my offers more competitive
Thank you, Will!!!!!!!!!!

I had lived in two different places when I lived in Richmond. Monroe Properties was the most recent. I really enjoyed living with them because that are one of few companies that offer inclusive rents. Most utilities, parking, internet and cable were included in the reasonable rent. I lived at 701 St. James and worked with VCU. It was a great location, midway between both VCU campuses. The neighborhood is growing with a lot of bars and restaurants opening within walking distance. Its a quick uber or drive to the Fan district or Carytown. Overall I would rent from them again.

I have been leasing from Monroe Properties for 6 months. David Steiger, the Northside Property manager, has been beyond awesome. Everything from finding the breaker box to dealing with trespassing has been dealt with in a superior amount of time and professionalism. Jimmy Parker the maintenance guy is also fantastic. Several times I have put in a work order and come home just hours later and see it already completed. I have been really impressed so far!!

Do not rent here if you want your security deposit...

Do not rent here if you want your security deposit back and believe nothing they tell you that's not in your lease.

Other reviews said they screw you on the deposit, so I made sure to keep from damaging the place and we went through their full checklist before we moved out -- which is the most ridiculous, extensive thing I've ever had to deal with from a rental company. Spent a full 3-day weekend cleaning the place top to bottom after we moved. The problem is this: they use cheap, crappy paint that you can't wash things off of without removing the paint. So they say "wash scuff marks off of walls" but when you go to do that, the paint comes right off... and then they charge you for the scuff marks.

They promised us things when we moved in that did not happen: for one, we were told we would have a doggie play yard by X date (which was actually before our move-in date). They never put a dog run in, in our year living there. We were misled about the amenities available in our unit until after we moved in. We were totally happy to let all of that slide, until we got our deposit back.

They took nearly half for normal wear and tear items that we have NEVER been charged for in many years of renting. Items that we would happily have addressed, if their finishing practices and paint had allowed it (charged for stuff on the baseboards that would not come off because the baseboards weren't well-sanded before they were painted, for example).

If you rent with these guys, trust nothing they say that isn't in your lease and either plan to live at a friend's house, or don't expect your deposit back. They work to the exact outer limits of VA's kind of obscure renting law, so make sure you know what you're getting into -- and that you have no recourse when they screw you.

William at Monroe Properties has managed our rental unit for a number of years he is great. He has handled issues including flood from a unit above, appliance replacements and rental deposits with a professional manner that is second to none. We are out of the country and William makes our lives so easy, we never worry about our property. I never want any other person handling my loft.

I leased for a year and am super impressed with the responsiveness, follow up and resolution from both the office and the maintenance team. I experience a couple of unfortunate issues with the property that were resolved with the utmost professionalism. Monroe gets an A+ from me and I will do business with them again!

Jesse our leasing manager took great care of us and was a wonderful dude all around. Manny, one of the maintenance workers has also been amazing! Hard to find a good leasing company so definitely recommend Monroe!

Getting your security deposit back is absolutely impossible.I sat in the maintenance office for 20 minutes while argued with me that crumbs were not considered normal wear and tare. They pointed out every single dot isolated on the walls and claimed that it wasn't normal wear and tare.If you are looking for place to actually live in,this is not the place. You can't touch anything or cook or breathe living in the apartment without them taking your security deposit. Also if you disagree with them they are extremely rude to speak to. They do not listen and talk over you.Out all of the apartments I have ever lived in i have never had my security deposit taken away. You can virtually not damage a thing in the apartment but leave a minor scuff and they will charge you. I got charged for crumbs of salt being in the pantry. I was a loyal tenant for close to three years paying my bill on time. Do yourself a favor do ALL research on this place. I advise you stay away from them.

I was immediately impressed with the professionalism, ability to answer all questions and rapid call backs when necessary, of Monroe properties. This was a difficult and emotional relocation for my friend who I helped find a place. Taylor Green and Jenny were instrumental in this move and made it as seamless as possible, all while handling a busy phone, office, answering questions and meetings with tenants.Taylor exceeded any expectations, as looking for a new place had become miserable. We are very appreciative and I strongly recommend them.
