Excellent steak and mushrooms, amazing dessert, friendly staff. And stiff drinks :)
Nostalgic place, with lots of history to it. Good selection of red wine. Friendly staff. They should consider adding espresso coffee to their menu, to finish off with.
Good food bit better atmosphere. Have a lot of great memorabilia there of Lambardi.
I've eaten at Lombardi's many, many times since they opened. While its still a great place for excellent steaks, the price/value relationship has declined. The service just isn't at a 'Morton's, Ruth Chris or Capital Club level. For example, my wife asked for ketchup with her filet (I know, how could you do that, but that is what she likes). The server brought it out in a bottle, when it should be served in a ramican with a small spoon. Its a small thing, and this is just one example. My daughters onion soup wasn't hot, nor were the vegetables. The restaurant was not at all busy. It will probably be a few years before we revisit.
Great food, amazing staff! Romantic and quiet but also have some great cheaper options for happy hour or just a regular night out.
Honestly, it was awful. Four meals. None of them even approached average. ...and for the prices they charge that is completely inexcusable. Service was also subpar. We were in on a night where the customer volume was low. Maybe they had the dishwasher cooking that night?
Worst meal in years!! Mac & cheese luke warm at best. Bone in ribeye $$$ so tough you can't chew it. Do yourself a favor, save some money and skip Lombardi's, just BAD!
The good: Crabcakes and Hashbrowns
The bad: The stuffed filet mignon and the service
The ugly: The lobster Mac n' Cheese
I was traveling in Appleton with a co-worker for a client and decided to stop here because we saw the reviews. Needless to say, we may have been spoiled on steaks, as we are from KC but still decided to give it a shot. The steak, while cooked really well, had no flavor. Additionally the sauces and cheeses that complimented it also were lacking flavor. The waitress wasn't very attentive, but there were more business professional gentlemen around besides us so it was understandable.
The worst was the lobster Mac n' Cheese. The first bite made me and my co-worker assume the lobster was bad but after digging through and testing this theory we determined it was just the dish inherently.
If you want to spend $70 on a dinner just to say you can, by all means eat here. But the few other restaurants I've enjoyed while in Appleton have had phenomenal food, for way cheaper.
tl;dr - these steaks aren't worth $45 for 12oz.
Amazing Cosmo's. I had one of the best stakes I have ever had. The staff was extremely professional and knowledgeable about all menu options. The soup was excellent. I highly recommend this place
I had the petite sirloin. With smashed garlic potatoes. And roasted asparagus. Fantastic food. Fantastic service. Great people.
Excellent place to eat, the prices are higher than most places but for the atmosphere and the service it is worth it. The potato and bacon soup is unbelievable, our steaks were cooked to perfection, and our server was amazing. She was extremely helpful in food selection as well as things to do in the area.
As good as Morton's or Ruth Chris' with none of the attitude. We've been there a couple dozen times in the last three years and on the one occasion that the meal wasn't up to their usual standards, they comped us and brought us new food to boot.
Prices are very high for Appleton, but low-reasonable if you're used to Chicago/NYC.
The desserts are frightening (in a good way). A football made of chocolate as big as your head filled with strawberries and cream? Yep. The B-52 cheesecake is the best I've had anywhere.
Definitely need reservations for Fri/Sat or when a football team is staying there, but you can eat at the bar, too.
Great people, Mike had steak I had Lobster, everything cooked to perfection, great service, love the waitress. The bartenders rock too. Nothing but #cozzylove for the staff
I brought My wife and 8 year son to eat dinner at your Steakhouse on Saturday night at 5:30 pm. Make sure you have a reservation. The General Manager Brian was very nice. The waiter was very good with our 8 year old. I had King Crab which was very good.My wife had Salmon was very goodtoo. My son had the Filet which if you bring your younger kids ask them not to put on spices. Overall very very good!!
We were rather disappointed, actually. My husband had eaten there with his coworkers about four years earlier and had raved about his experience so I had high expectations with it being my first time there. The wait staff was very professional and the atmosphere was great but our food was NOT worth the prices. And isn't the food supposed to be the main value in a restaurant? My salmon was burned black and solid, completely inedible tasting of ash and my husband's steak was fatty. I believe the building that the steakhouse is in is under new ownership so maybe that has something to do with it but we probably won't be going back there four years from now at the next convention. It's definitely not worth the high prices that they charge.
Great steakhouse! Staff can be hit or miss. have had great service one time and the next some of the worst ever. Food is good and sides are huge! We will be back...
Amazing food, drinks, service and atmosphere. Everything we had was top notch. Definitely worth the price. On top of excellent food the service was first rate. Would absolutely go back again.
Great Staff... Great Food... & I thought, it was reasonably priced :) Definitely be back
Couldn't get in Minnesota Vikings at taking over the place
The food was increadbale! We went on Valentine's Day night and everything was perfect.
Best steaks and service in the fox River Valley (includes Green Bay)
The loaded baked potato soup is something from heaven
Always an excellent experience. You are treated like no one else is in the room great place for special occasions. Good quality food and great cuts of meat. The care truly shows through from ordering to service.
Lobster was fantastic, but the steak was a little undercooked. Overall, it was a great place for lots of people, good service, and it was loads of great food.
They offer a nice range of fresh food. I love eating here. The employees are always super friendly, pricing is affordable and the place is always neat.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Would love to see less TV's and corporate casual dress code at minimum. With the great quality of food and service this would be a great time not to see shorts, t-shirts, or sneakers.
The bartender was very friendly. Food was very tasty with large portions. Love the atmosphere!
Sorry to say. . But will never come here again. .Service was great and all but the food was not what we expected.. .Way over priced food.for just a lobster tail.and didn't come with anything .When we can get it at Red Lobster at a better price with more extra sides. .. .We came here groups of 14. For Valentine party date and I did not like what I ordered either! !
Valentine's Day dinner with hubby provided by the WWP. we met a lot of great fellow veterans. Thanks for a great night!!
Halibut entree was mediocre. Stick to red meat at this place. Also they are asking $32/glass for NOT rare wine at the bar...
You could get the same food for half the price if you traveled 5 minutes away from Vince Lombardi's. Its just a regular steak house with high-end decor. Its like a ford taurus with a spoiler.
Awesome place for a great steak. Largest collection of Lombardi memorabilia in the country. Very cool for the football fan.
This restaurant is doubtless one of the finest restaurants in the area. Anytime I visit this place I am incredibly satisfied. They keep their very high level service and the highest level of meals they give. You surely will enjoy this this place. Very recommended.
I personally love this restaurant as it is Fine Dining at its best. Whenever my husband & I stay at the Red Lion Paper Valley hotel in Appleton we always have dinner at Vince Lombardi's steakhouse. The atmosphere is quiet & relaxing, the wait staff is wonderful with an attention to detail (shout out to Preston who was our server the second night we ate there - awesome service)! I know they have a variety of steaks & will explain the different cuts to customers. For anyone that likes seafood the Salmon & Shrimp dinner is very good. They also have some delicious desserts available so try to save room - you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.
My company has our Christmas party here every year. Everything is delicious, however this year there were a few disappointments. The biggest being frozen cheesecake at dessert and the lack of enthusiasm when a handful of us asked for ice cream after dinner drinks. Overall dinner is good and the staff friendly.
Food was really good, and the service was great! We ate at the bar, and Lindsey took such great care of us!
Yes the price was slightly expensive, but the service we got and the knowledge our waitress had about the menu was phenomenal. This isn't a place you go for an everyday meal; it's somewhere you go to enjoy a nice meal with your significant other for a anniversary or other special occasion. We went for our 7 year anniversary and was well worth the cost. Scenery is great, food was great, service was great, everything was great. After dinner, we got dessert. The dessert was amazingly good (I'd recommend getting the B-52 Cheesecake), I had to ask for another slice to take home. Awesomely, our server gave us the cheesecake dessert for free, on her. We were stunned and thankful for her kind actions, which then gave me a better reason to come back and leave a nice tip. So in summary, come here if you are looking to splurge on a nice meal. Don't come here if you are looking for a cheap dinner, you won't find it. If you have any questions about the food, they will go out of the way to answer anything you have so your not in the dark on what to order.
OUTSTANDING food! A tad pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Prices can get a little high but I was okay paying $10 for a hamburger. It was cooked perfectly. Decent selection of beers. Wouldn't think twice about coming back.
This was an upscale restaurant and the steak tasted like it and I was pleased. The only issue I have is I ordered my steak medium well and asked for then to cook it till there was no blood. The center was like they forgot to kill the cow. I'm not really complaining a lot because the steak was so good. The service was what you would expect from a restaurant of this nature. I would love to come back again.
If you are trying to find the best steaks in the Fox Cities, look no further than Vince Lombardi's Steak House. Having lived in New York, San Francisco, and Austin for 35 years prior to moving to Wisconsin,I have had the pleasure of eating in some of the finest steak houses in the country and Lombardi's is among the best of the best. It is the finest steak house in the Fox Cities area. I dare say one would have to go to Chicago to find a steak house of this caliber. While the ambiance is both unique and fun, this is not one of those restaurants where the food is secondary to the memorabilia. To the contrary, the atmosphere simply makes the superb dining that much more enjoyable.
Very good steak. Very high prices. Not sure I want to spend this much on a steak dinner, in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Everything from the moment you walk in is all about the customer. The bartenders are friendly and enjoy a conversation. The hostesses were very will to adjust our reservation to 1/2 hour later since we were having such great convention at the bar. The server was fantastic.
I came here with a group of 10 people and the food was absolutely delicious. The service was superb, and the ambience was exactly what you want at a high-end steakhouse.
Lobster Was The Best EVER- Along w/ Snow Crab ~
SERVICE & REPRESENTATION WAS PHENOMENAL-
ATMOSPHERE IS ENGAGING & RELAXING.
CLEAN & CRISP-
JUST EXQUISITE*
Was shocked and disappointed.
He got stuck here during a blizzard and although expensive I love a great steak.
Every thing we had was disappointing.
The salad was old brown iceberg lettuce.
The bread had hard and flavorless.
The steak was okay, but I asked for medium rare and she ordered rare and both were over down.
I'm not sure how it gets its reputation and I almost want to go back to confirm how bad it was
This place is wonderful and spacious, the food was delightful and the rates were very reasonable. fast, efficient service and very welcoming staff members. Recommended.
It was a great place to eat and have fun with friends and family
Been here a couple times and I remember it as being better previously. The experience and ambiance were still the same, but the food lacked the finesse that is required for the price point.
Thank you for the reviews, it seems like a place that I will leave feeling irritated given the price and atmosphere. I will not be going there based on those reviews thank you $$$.
Are one of the best steaks I've ever had, it was perfectly cooked. Their shareables twice baked potato was amazing. The mixed berry cheesecake was the best cheesecake ever had in my life, by a mile!!
Too long to wait also the air is smoke filled so it's a bad atmosphere and they play bad channels and they just cheese you
I celebrated my birthday last night in this great restaurant. Well we enjoyed a enjoyable evening and the venue was certainly one of the reasons for this outstanding evening. The waiters helped in a lovely manner, the cooking was great and my buddies were very pleased. We shall surely return for more joyful events. Thank you very much.
The steaks, for the price, were only maybe 7 out of 10. I've had just as good of a steak at other establishments in the valley that are a nearly a third less expensive. It seemed to be a wannabe Ruth Chris without the amazing beef that's served at Ruth's. 8 dollars for a side of garlic "smashed" potatoes with cheddar is really pricy and they were very basic, easily reproduced at home. I had a ceaser salad that had some browned lettuce in it. At 7 dollars for a salad I expect fresh produce. I don't think I would recommend it to anyone.
Very pricey but also great food and service..would be 5 star if it was not so expensive. Portions are medium size. Very good first time
My husband and I went here for our 10th anniversary celebration. The service could not have been any better, the food was cooked to perfection (I had the petite filet mignon). Our waitress asked if we had a special occasion we were celebrating because we told her that we were staying at the Copperleaf. We told her that it was our 10th anniversary and she gave us a dessert of our choice on the house! We could not have asked for better service or food. It's a little pricey, but worth every penny!!! We will definitely be going back some day!!!
We always celebrate birthdays at Lombardi's. The delicious cuisine and the impeccable service are always fantastic even for teenagers. Thank you Sara.
Good Food, seemed like everything is al a carte. Expensive but nice.
Pricey, and not much better than did you can get at a much cheaper restaurant.
Terrific service, food, and wine selection. Not inexpensive, but worth it for a special meal.
Food was fine, but disappointing for the high price
I was helping a friend out doing a construction job at the hotel earlier this year and i was going to have a steak here but my friend advised me not to eat here and he told me i would find out why a little later in the day. When we went through the big kitchen to throw out our wood scraps in the back i had to deal with the nastiest smell i have ever dealt with smelled worse than rotten food i was gagging from it and anyone else who isnt used to that kitchens smell will also gag or throw up (which my friend did throw up the day prior to me helping him) i seen green stuff that looked like mold caked into a corner on the floor my friend took me to look at a grill and it was the most disgusting thing i have ever seen in a restaurant there was milky white and brown slime that was all over the grill i am glad i was advised and shown why not to eat there i know for a fact that this place has more than a few health code violations the chef and owner of the kitchen should be ashamed of themselves i would never let my restaurant get that bad i am telling u if your thinking of eating there just walk down the hallway that leads towards the kitchen from the dining area and you will smell what i have smelled worse and worse the closer you get to the kitchen it is horrible and you will regret walking even halfway down there
The steak was amazing and bourbon selection was one of the best I have ever seen. Note: no prime rib only grilled steaks.
