Poor services, poor facilities, poor customer service. Today they ve finished the towels (never experienced something like that) so people were unable to use the pool (yes, you read it right).... so we decide to go to the bar but we couldn t charge on the room because our room number was not coming up in the system (1 hr of drama). Wifi for a fee, mandatory valet parking for $45, overnight stay not cheaper either but service and facilities not worth a penny! Avoid this place if you can.

Cool hotel in the heart of West Hollywood.

Cool hotel in the heart of West Hollywood.
We ve been coming here for years, the rooms have been recently updated which was good to see. Our studio suite was enormous and very spacious with a comfortable couch and most importantly a heavenly bed. The bathroom was small and the lighting didn t do any favours for shaving and make up.
The staff are all so pleasant and helpful, you couldn t ask for more. However to be disturbed three times asking for our check out time (after securing a late check out the night before) despite the do not disturb sign on the door.
The on property dining is limited and better elsewhere in the area but the resort fee and the valet parking were exorbitant. The resort fee was meant to cover in room WiFi but then limits you to 3 devices.
The Mondrian has the makings for a five star rating but these little things pull it down, what a shame.

Old and outdated. Well past its sell by date. Crazy large mirrorTV located so that it blocks any view. A new hotel being constructed where the house of blues was, will dwarf the Mondrian and remove all valley views. Needs a total re-vamp. Charging for Parking and WIFI #Avoid #LetsGuide

Nice hotel. Upscale amenities. However, my TV was always searching for a signal or satellite connection and my room's phone would not work, so I could not call down to have the TV fixed. I finally used my cell to call the front desk from the "outside". It was too kate to repair the TV.

Staff was nice. Though we did not receive our breakfast vouchers. Rooms are dim even with all lights on. Parking is $44 a day and a $200 a DAY refundable damage deposit. We did receive the daily despot 2 days after check out but I felt it was excessive.

It s a decent hotel, nothing more or less. The bell staff/valet were friendly. Otherwise the customer experience overall I feel is at best average. Staff don t really acknowledge you (perhaps this intentional for privacy, I don t know). Rooms are beautifully done and hotel overall is well appointed. Overall I didn t feel hard done staying here, but I wouldn t again.

Prime location in West Hollywood. Price is decent but 600$ deposit per day of stay is too much. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a great view. Amenities could be improved with the kitschy provided. Ask the code to avoid paying WIFI at the front desk. Great staff too.

The beds are uncomfortable, lights in the bathroom flickered, and the tub drained extremely slowly. When talking to the front desk, he just made a lot of excuses saying that maybe housekeeping didn't know because the previous guest might not have used the tub so it's hard to know if it was clogged or not. I was going to ask him if that meant housekeeping didn't clean the tubs every time if it seems like the guest didn't use the tub but it was really late and I didn't want to continue to argue about it. He didn't seem very sympathetic even though we paid extra for a room with a jacuzzi tub.

We recently stayed at the Mondrian; it s a decent hotel for the price. It is further away from Hollywood Blvd, which isn t bad. But if you re planning to visit the Boulevard keep in mind you ll need a Lyft if you don t have a car. The hotel is close to Santa Monica Blvd & the Gayborhood; which I did not know prior to booking. This was a pleasant surprise since we could walk to a few gay bars.
The decor was definitely LA as were most of the people staying there. Lolz
The bar/restaurant is pricy for what they offer.
On a bus tour we found out the hotel is owned by Cindy Crawford.
The room we had was a Studio Suite. I absolutely loved the room. It s probably the most positive aspect of our stay there.
The most negative thing about this hotel is how often the pool area & Skybar are closed for private parties. We stayed 3 days and the pool was closed for two of those days. If I knew ahead of time I would not have booked here. If we pay for a hotel with a pool/bar I fully expect to be able to use it. If you re traveling to LA, consider this prior to booking.

I recently stayed there and they accused me of throwing champagne bottle from the 8th floor balcony AND running through the hallways naked. They said the guy was white who did it, so they accused me! I was severely insulted. DO NOT stay at this hotel.

Pretty surprised by how high those ratings are. I stayed at different hotels at west Hollywood for work, but this hotel probably is the worst.

I saw most of the review is about the pool and bar, I supposed they probably not staying in the hotel overnight?

The bellhop doesn't even look at me when I walked in the hotel, but reception is kind.

The hotel lobby and the pool probably are the only places can get sufficient light. The hallway and the room is very old and dark, and I have no idea why they put an empty chair and a tv screen which play nothing just flashing light right after you walk out from elevator. I don t know is this a Halloween theme? The room has huge space but layout pretty wired and outdated. I stayed at lots of different hotel with different style, this one is seriously the worst, it s exactly like what you will expect from a horror movie (white old curtain, dark green carpet at hallway ... etc).

The bed is comfortable, AC is loud, you will also hear clearly people coming out from elevator, chatting their day inside your room.

My room is facing the pool, I believe is not the hotel party but I could hear clearly loud music from next street played until 2am (Tuesday and Wednesday night), My other friend stayed different just across the street and he hear nothing.

I wish I can change hotel but I already paid for couple nights.

Just stayed a couple of nights over the weekend. Website pictures make it look nicer than it is. To me the rooms were old, dirty, our bed was very uncomfortable, sheets had holes and curtains were dirty and some had holes. I was excited for the pool view from our balcony but they don't mentioned that they have a huge tent covering the whole patio/pool area. I understand why though due to rain, but still they should post this information on their website, either way I wasn't pleased with our stay. However, the staff are nice and friendly and the wife and I did enjoy several drinks by the pool. Wish their Owners/Investors will invest more in this property.

Worst experience in a long time.

Worst experience in a long time.
Been travelling to LA on a frequent basis since 2011, recently I chose to stay at this hotel for a 3rd time in 2 years. It will defiantly be my last!!

Firstly when I made my booking with reservations prior to me arriving in LA I was given a price which I was happy about and that price was including tax, then when I arrived and checked in I got taxed on top of that price. I was then made aware that the price I was given was not including tax.. Very disappointing!

Then in my room from the first day I noticed NO tooth paste, I was told they would be giving me some by the next day... It never happened.
I had a running toilet, which trickled water at night, every night and every morning.... It was extremley annoying and a massive inconvenience - I did not bother reporting it because didn't want to waste energy towards issues like this that I should not have to deal with in the first place!

The pool and sky bar prices are ridiculously over priced! And since when did waitresses ask if YOU the guest would like your change back?
How rude !
On my first night my girlfriend and I had pre drinks by the pool, we had 2 drinks, total was $37 - I ask for the check and handed the girl a $50.. She replies with "would you like your change?"
Who does that?
I haven't experienced this at any hotel over the last 6years in LA. This is the first!!!
Another night my girlfriend bought a drink and the waitress didn't even return with her change.. And we were then told the the table we were on was previously booked and we had to move, this happened after my girlfriend paid for her drink, so I'm wondering if the waitresses have an agenda to make extra tips - very fkn shifty business!! What a disgrace!!!

Also what hotel holds an amount of $200 per night on your credit for incidentals.. This hotel held over 1,000 on my credit card.. For me to be deprived of that amount of money which is my money to spend is another disgrace!

$200 per night.. Thompson hotel policy they say... What a fkn JOKE!!!
I think $200 for your entire stay is more appropriate.

This time round I had a pathetic experience at the Mondrian - and will never return!

I also stayed at another hotel in Santa Monica after my stay at the Mondrian.
I regret not staying at this particular hotel for my entire stay but I had business to attend to in the West Hollywood area and thought the Mondrian would be convenient...

This hotel cost me $70 less a night, I had a king ocean view room.. The decor is modern and slick.. Larger bathroom " not dated and boring like the Mondrian bathrooms"
And this particular hotel in Santa Monica did not even take a hold on my credit card for incidentals.. What a delight that was! Because I have been a regular guest at this hotel and they didn't want to deprive me of my funds... Very smart business and respectful of their regular guests.

The mondrain hotel has a lot of work to do towards there attention to detail across the board!!

You have seen the last of me!!!

If you can avoid it, I asked for it by booking and it was not written that I had to pay double for security and I paid 900 dollars more and still have to pay it back! This never happened to me !!!! Never!!!! They're thieves ! The hotel is not cute as in the photo and it's too expensive for what it is! If you want to go to LA I would avoid !!!! Bye

I went to the sky bar for an la night out, there was good service and beautiful ambiance. You have views of LA , plenty of seating and a luxurious pool right in the middle. The music was fun and the vibe was really chill, I was in good company, I enjoyed my night.

This is my first review, but my stay was so terrib...

This is my first review, but my stay was so terrible I feel the need to share. Hotel wants to be high end, but it runs like a budget spring breaker hotel in Daytona Beach. 30 minute elevator waits. Service at restaurant, well your lucky to get a waiter come by once during a meal if you flag them down. Rooms are messy, skipped cleaning it one day. Two of three elevators broken. No signs- no stafc helping . At 430 pm on Saturday there was a line out the lobby door to get in it.

Our key cards stopped working 4 times over 3 days. Once after getting g new cards from the desk. Saw 2 different staff stop working to hang out with friends. Couldn't get drinks for over an hour at the pool. Pool messed up reservation for day bed. Couldn't get towels. Found cleaning staff, finally got help.

I heard 4 different groups over 3 days complaing about the hotel. One group was holding up the line check out line demanding their money back. I could go on. LA has great options for hotels. Go to London SLS Beveeely hills or elsewhere in this area . Do not stay here. Simply aweful.

Came here for an event - the staff were nice, but seemed extremely busy to be attentive to our party. We had to constantly flag a waiter down to refill our drinks. Food was surprisingly simple and felt overpriced for the quality. It also took about 45 minutes between ordering and actually getting the food, and when we did, one person's dish was missing. The view was ok and the atmosphere was too loud in the indoor area by the swimming pool. Overall, would not have an event here again.

The Mondrian was recommended by an agency I was working with. When I arrived at my room, I found an open bottle of champagne and two dirty flutes on the table along with an open bag of popcorn and another open bottled water on the nightstand. I brought this to the attention of the front desk clerk and he told me, "You can have them." When I said I didn't want them, he said housekeeping would be right up. I returned from dinner and housekeeping had never come. I was in for an additional shock in the morning when I got into then shower and found open toiletries. I question whether the sheets were ever changed. Oh, and I had a package overnighted to the hotel before I arrived. They wanted an "extra fee" to bring it up to my room. Every other hotel has always had my packages waiting in my room when I checked in.

If I'm ever in WeHo again, I'll find a different place to stay.

Really? A party every night and no other rooms available that are at least a bit more quiet? (this was the introduction when we checked in) I Can't sleep without my one headphones and have to put in my own music in order to get some sleep before my job. It's no problem for one night, but two in a row is absolutely not okay. I am talking about Wednesday and Thursday, not about the weekend...

I am a musician and have no problem with loudness, but this is really too much.

My wife and I spent last weeked in LA for our wedd...

My wife and I spent last weeked in LA for our wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Mondrian based on good reviews on google and on expedia. The overall quality of the hotel I would rate a 3/5. It was not as well done or as clean as I was expecting as we were paying about $450/night with valet.

A main reason we chose Mondrian over other hotels was because of the perceived quality of the pool area. We planned on spending all of saturday lounging by the pool, relaxing for our anniversary. We made it to the pool about 10am and found a nice day bed to lounge on. About 15 minutes later, we were notified by staff that we would have to find somewhere else to sit as they have a paid day party that starts at 1pm and all of the beds have been purchased/reserved. We were extremely thrown back. We came to this hotel for the pool...and now we aren't going to be able to use this. We brought this fact up to the front desk and they ensured us that we were invited to the pool party and could attend at no cost. We opted to leave because a standing room only pool party vegas/college style was not why we booked that hotel. We peaked in around 3pm and there was what seemed to be like several hundred people, shoulder to shoulder around the pool with a DJ blasting. So much for our relaxing anniversary day at the pool. What really is crummy is that they charge you a facilities fee in addition to your booking which includes the pool surcharge. We didn't even get to use it.

Also on Saturday, my wife and I splurged on a couple bottles of nice champagne. We brought them back to the room and ordered some ice. (Yes, that is right, they do not have ice machines for guests to use, you have to 'order' the ice from room service). We were told the ice machines were down and there is no ice available to guests. I promptly replied and said that I guarantee there is ice in the $15 drinks being served at the pool party. They adamantly denied that and said there was no ice. At that point, I was fuming and had my wife call back. She ended up getting some ice eventually (I am sure they had to steal from the bar ice at the party...those poor people!). Regardless of whether the ice machine was down, I am sure it was because they were cranking ice out for the hundreds of drinks at this pool party that displaced us from spending the day by the pool. Double irritation whammy.

Valet is a mess as well. Especially when you are trying to come/go during the pool party. Line of cars down the block...we had to circle several times just to be able to pull into the small driveway. Very annoying.

Takeaways:
-Not as clean as I expect in a nicer hotel
-Service was questionable
-Don't expect them to put your needs as a paying guest above the pool partiers.
-Forget about lounging by the pool on a Saturday
-Stay somewhere else

Affordable hotel in a good location. The rooms are clean, a bit dated. As you enter the doorway, there is a escalator that goes up to the hotel lobby. There is also a chinese restaurant upstairs, adjacent to the lobby. I've had food delivered to my room, it's decent. Located right across the street from a coffee shop, that is shabby but convenient. Great location and room prices. Three and a half stars, rounded up for the location.
