There is always traditional Irish live music which makes a great atmosphere, that also means it s busy.. it was always busy here but what good places do you know that are empty? In the Temple Bar region you must visit the Temple Bar itself. There's live music almost every day and looks like it's always crowded. There's a lot of Irish (and international) drinking songs which you can sing along while drinking a Guiness, a 5 lamps or another nice drink. There's also a possibility to eat something. Definitely a place to go and hang out during a stay in Dublin.
Super fun place, but yes, it's touristy. Going for a drink and a picture is worth it. The live music was fun, but I don't think having a meal would have been enjoyable just due to the noise and crowds (and good luck getting a table)!
Perfect original Irish pub. The place from the outside looks tiny but inside is big enough for a lot of people though it was a little bit crowded we found some space at the bar and we enjoyed our nifht. Furthermore, the staff is really kind and helpful. I will definitely come back one day.
If you're in the mood for a great time while in Dublin you'll want to stop by and have a few drinks. You can also eat something if you want. There's love music every night of the week with a different musician or band so you'll get something different if you decide to go on multiple days. If you're a smoker they have an open air seating area which is heated on cold nights. There's always loads of people there so if you don't like crowds it won't be for you. They have servers for the tables and an open bar and the beer is always cold!
The Irish left here 30 years ago or certainly the Dubliners. This is Disneyland Irish style a mock culture. The only Irish here are the ones that wish for a dalliance with a foreign tourist. Not that there s anything wrong with that.
Beautiful pub with a lovely atmosphere. Your pint may cost a premium but you'll get some live music thrown in.

The whiskey side-bar next Door is the real gem. The tastings were well done and if you fancy anything enough to buy it, you can do that as well. Worth mentioning that it is a fantastic environment for sampling whiskey while you eye the many bottles on the shelf. Would recommend over the over-crowded college/tourist pub/trap next door.

Great area. Easy to navigate around and has plenty of things to keep you busy. Plenty of cabs and buses too.
We were afraid not to end up in another tourist trap but we end up being simple impressed: good food, fast service, attentive staff, live band, good drinks selection...What actually blow the socks out of us was the whiskey bar, a cosy space on the left side of the pub: an amazing Irish whiskey selection, very good bartenders who offered an insight over the options. Highly recommend.

When in Dublin...!! A group of 6 of us where there on a Saturday night and it was complete sensory overload - very crowded, very loud, and lots of drunken antics. Despite that, the live band were very good and we still got served fairly quickly at the bar although prices here are massively inflated due to all the tourists. Definitely worth a visit but there are so many other, more authentic Irish pubs to chose from

The most famous pub in Ireland, very crowded as usual. It's nice to have a pint there if never been there before. As a local I don't really go there, it is what we call a turist trap. Anyway it's a nice place, with Irish traditions and off course good guinness. Be prepared to pay 6 euros a pint .

Wonderful feelings when you get in. It's a place where you can be with people without knowing anyone. It feels safe and confortable even though is crowded. You can't get into temple bar without feeling the urgency of a Guinness glass. Great time!

Had my first Guinness here when we arrived in Dublin, and it was as delicious as everyone said it would be! As far as the pub, very cool atmosphere and even better beer garden! If you like the night life, you'll like it here. If not, go in the afternoon, its a lot less busy. Staff was amazing and very friendly!
This is the most popular pub in Dublin. It s a large space with many seating areas and options.
It was full of tourists in the pub and also nearby. The area is filled with pubs. Definitely a place to party and drink.
I ordered nachos and they were good. I wish it came with more salsa and guacamole though.
They have over a 100 sandwiches to order on the menu. I wish they had more hot foods though! I guess they don t want to bother with food when most of their revenue comes from alcohol sales!
Will definitely return when I m back in Dublin!

Place is really vibrant with really good music. However it is not the best place to go if you wish to have space to breath. This spot is so mainstream that you will have difficulty to walk around.

Great pub with lots of ambiance that rambles on into several small sections some of which are open to the outside. Great selection of beers and enjoyed the live music. Usually packed with a lively and boisterous crowd. Met and chatted with lots of friendly tourist and locals.

I totally get that this is a tourist trap. There's a reason. This place gets it and offers the things people want. So it was absolutely packed on a Tuesday night in the beginning of January. The vibe is pub and the different rooms give it a more imtimate feel while being quite a large venue. The music was great without being tired. The bar keeps let us go behind the bar for a photo op. So the drinks are expensive. You want to get soused for cheap, Aldis has liters of cider. The Christmas decorations were still up and magnificent. Overall a great time!

It's a beautiful place, but so crowded that it's impossible to even stand in there. It's just a tick in a box for tourists, and that famous picture from the outside.
At 8e a pint it is very very expensive but it is a beautiful pub full of character and a wonderful atmosphere. Even if you just go in for one drink it is worth it. We went midday and there was live music, the place was very busy but not packed to the rafters.

It is clear that the very busy bar is the heart of the region, and the drinks selection was wide (albeit expensive).
I suggest maybe grabbing one in here, then heading off to experience the other establishments in the area.

Finally got to see this famous bar in public! Such a cool place. There s inside and outside. Many bands for live music. Friendly staff and yummy food! Lots of it to watch out! They have like 100 items on their list as well as booze! Must check it out. It was kind of hard to find but we managed our way! You pass cute shops along the wag too.

Great atmosphere with the live band. Lots of choice in beers and drinks. The atmosphere was quite loud so not the greatest place to have a conversation. The bartender didn't really seem to care about any of the people inside. We had a good Night at temple bar.
Amazing atmosphere. Large bar where you can get pretty much every drink you want. Always full but there is always a place to sit or stand to drink your Guinness (or whatever you like). The district is called after this bar. Classy.
One of the most famous Bars!! With long history and heritage! The establishment is big full of rooms and different ambiences. Food is not so great but at least gives you the chance of having something to eat. No matter what time you arrive on weekend days it will always be full of people!
This is one of those cross off the bucket list kind of experiences. The service was efficient. The live music was great. Otherwise it was crowded to the point of "I can't stay too long." All in all it was a good time though.

If you visit only one pub while visiting Temple Bar Dublin, this one is regularly featured on all the tourist lists. I'm also told it's one of the most photographed Dublin pubs ever on Google maps. And you can see why, with it centrally located and delivering everything you could ever want from an Irish bar.
Great environment, music and people. I didn't like the people serving in the bar, they don't have any patience and it's always on the hurry. I wanted to ask for something else typically from Dublin that not Guinness and they don't answer back.
A must do. Having a drink in Temple bar is something that everyone recommends. It has a very lovely atmosphere, but drinks are a bit pricey.
