Good for beginners, but really small and limiting for more experienced skiers. The difficulty variation isn't great, as in the diamonds aren't really significantly more difficult than the greens. Great for a large group of people who want to ski for the first time, but personally as someone who's been to much bigger and better ski mountains, it's not even worth the lift ride up.

Great family skiing area. Everyone is kind; skis respectfully around the beginners. My daughter was able to practice skiing comfortably on the greens and get her confidence over time. There are enough other challenging slopes to keep my son engaged for the day. Complementary bag check and a short walk from parking to main lodge make the day work with kids. We love to eat lunch at the mid-slope lodge. Ending the day with a hot chocolate with the works. Close enough to home to go for a half day.

What a fabulous ski resort. The customer experience is second to none. Each member of staff goes out of their way to be helpful from the ticket office to rentals to the ski patrol who were excellent following a wee accident. Thank you to all the staff for making our day such a memorable one.

I am not a skier, but the skiers I was with had a great time! I must say I found the setting charming with the little brook and the bridge. I enjoyed the deck and the menu in the lodge, which was packed. Be advised they do not sell beer, wine or alcohol.

First, I want to start off with the facts, Mohawk is a decent small mountain with good staffs and well maintained slopes. However, their management is HORRENDOUS, especially their sales director Trish Morrissey and office manager Heidi (I'm not surprised to find out that I'm not the only one who had issues with Trish after reading some other reviews). Please avoid dealing with those two by all means, they are by far the most unpleasant and disgusting customer service I ve ever come across. They will definitely ruin your experience with the mountain. They were extremely unreasonable and rude to me. I participated their Shred program last year but never received my bonus lift tickets as promised. So I went to talk to those two beginning of this year and they refused to give me the tickets as they think I was lying to them. Then I ask them to check with the program director Dave (who doesn t work there anymore) but they never followed up with me. Then I tried to email them and only to find out that they blocked my email address! So I had to use a different email address to contact them. And Trish would literally ignore every email I sent only if I call her and leave a voice mail (she doesn t answer my calls of course), then she would respond to me the next day. And all I got from her was a bunch of crap, she basically plays dumb with me and tries to put the blame on me for not getting the tickets last year. I had enough from them and pursuing legal actions against them, so that they will learn that they cannot just treat their customers however they want, you need to be reasonable to do business! I strongly recommend people to go to other mountains, there are a lot of other good ski areas in CT and MA where they treat customers properly.

Nice local area. Good grooming and trail conditions although their isn't much of a difference in the difficulty between the blue & black trails. Most of the runs are smooth and devoid of moguls or other challenging terrain. There is no terrain park area. Some powder caches on the sides, but they also hide some crud underneath them.

Great midweek & evening pricing. Not too crowded during the daytime midweek. Volume picks up on midweek afternoons due to numerous local school ski clubs and teams. Usually thins out after 7pm. Weekends get busy for obvious reasons. Sunday skiing ends at 4pm. Night skiing Mon-Wed till 8pm. Thurs - Sat till 10pm.

Ample parking area. Gets muddy on warm days. Nice size base lodge with cubby holes and paid lockers for storage. There is a shortage of outside ski racks and on busy days, many folks have no choice but to leave their skis scattered on the ground around the base lodge.
Overall, the decent midweek/evening pricing, & slope conditions makes it a good place to visit.

Stopped by with an Indy Pass day. Fun little mountain. Stayed mostly on the diamond side. Trails were nice and the conditions were great considering this has been a challenging season weather-wise.. Lots of nice personal touches that you don't see anymore like free bag check and lift attendants who stabilize the chair after it swings around the bullwheel. Will you get altitude sickness there? Definitely not but hey, you are in CT skiing. They do a great job with what they have. PS, thought it was a little strange that there was no terrain park but I heard that it was for liability reasons. No Big deal, there are plenty of natural things to jump.

It is a great place. The food is good, the staff are nice and as far as ski slopes go, they re good. There is one problem I had, it s that people seemed to gather att the bottom of the slopes where people are going down. I almost hit some people and had to fall because I couldn t slow down fast enough. It would be nice if there were signs marking where you can and cannot stand, but other than that it s a great ski resort and I would definitely recommend it.

Cash, drivers license and debit card stolen out of my bag at complimentary bag check. Other than that it was. A good expereicne. No lines, great instructor BRIAN, good prices. Just make sure you don't leave any valuables in bag check. I thought about it before leaving my bag but said everything thing woukd be fine. Guess I should lower my expectations for their staff.

Been coming here since I was young. The prices for lift tickets are some of the cheapest in the area. Trails are always kept in great condition with plenty of lifts to keep the lines moving. My go to local mountain.

Great mountain!

Great mountain!

I cannot thank the ski patrol team enough (unfortunately did not get their names). They helped my dad out when we wasn't feeling well. Treated us like family. Helped both him and me every step of the way. They helped me pack and carry all our stuff to our car. They watched over my father as I got everything ready, and helped carry him to my car. G-D bless them.

Thanks again for your wonderful ski patrol team and friendly/caring staff at Mohawk Mountain.

They offered a great option for fourth graders that allowed them to receive 2 lift tickets at a very reduced rate. That is great until they state that they never received it. I still have the email that shows I sent it but we are told that they now don't have it so they wont honor it.

I went up for "the night deal" on Saturday and got 6 hrs of lift pass including rentals (and lesson I don't need) for $54. It's well worth the money. It wasn't crowded and there was no wait for the lifts. Snow was decent considering the "winter" we've had. There were a couple of hazardous spots the could have been marked for safety, but overall the place seemed well maintained. Even the food at the lodge was good, if a bit expensive.

Family fun

Family fun

Most people hit the slopes for snow boarding or skiing, but those aren't for everyone. We love to go snow tubing when we want to have outdoor winter fun that isn't exhausting. The runs here are new and the "magic carpet" makes getting up to the top easy. They are very safety conscious here.
The Perch Cafe was not crowded at all and we could relax there before and after our session.
A few ways to improve the experience would be 1. longer & wider runs. 2.MORE RUNS 3.more regulated flow of tubers. Sometimes we waited 10 minutes to go. 4.music. Yawgoo Valley had the tunes going which helps pass the time when you're waiting around 5. Couples tubes. It's way more fun to go down in a group

These people are the worst thieves and liars I hav...

These people are the worst thieves and liars I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. Shortly after arriving, when a few hundred dollars was spent on equipment rental, ski lift ticket, and a private lesson, the lift and lodge lost power. Obviously, the mountain was now impossible to ascend. To make matters worse, they required that everyone evacuate the area, lodge included. We were thrown out to the street like dogs. Instead of offering refunds like honest people, they offered a voucher to return another day. Even after I explained that I lived two and half hours away from the lodge and could not return, the owner / manager didn t have the decency to act like a gentleman and offer a refund. I disputed the charge with my credit card company, and they responded by saying that The customer agreed and accepted the voucher. They have further advised that the voucher has not been returned and is in the customer s possession. There are a ton of other ski areas for you to choose from. If you feel comfortable dealing with digesting and nautilus liars like Mohawk Mountain, then good luck to you. I would like to see how they respond to this feedback, claiming that I am lying. I was on vacation to have a good time with my boy folks, not to conspire to write negative feedback.

By the way, there was no snow. There was only ice.

Allow me to comment on their response.....THEY ARE LIARS!!!! They lied to my credit card company and said that I accepted the voucher. Thieves and liars. Go somewhere else folks.

Excellent skiing mountain, great for kids and beginners, but with a range of lifts and trails for people of all abilities. Each lift goes to a set of trails for a different ability level. I also liked the idea of the restaurant on the trail, where you need to ski to the door - reminiscent of the mountains in Europe.

This is not the most famous ski place in the northeast area, but that results in a much less crowded place, which makes the experience very enjoyable. A good place to learn ski. Since I am not a high level skier, so not sure how it is for pros.

Love this place so much. Incredibly fun, even if you go for only an hour. Med staff are extremely helpful. Fell backwards while going down ledges and was immediately helped by near by staff. I was asked questions to see if I was okay. Staff was very caring and seemed genuinely concerned instead of just wanting to get back to what he was doing. The lobby was very warm and felt comfortable. Prices for snacks and drinks are perfect. If you live anywhere in Connecticut or around the area, go to this place.

I spoke with a nice gentleman in the lodge who said he comes here with his family from France every year to get away from Chamonix. I've never been to Chamonix, but I somehow knew exactly what he meant.

In an age of massive, sprawling, and ever expanding resorts that try to be all things to all people (in all seasons) Mohawk stays true to it's roots which makes this place the hidden gem it truly is. A small mountain that is comfortable being a small mountain and doesn't try to make up for it with extras. It makes sense there are no hi-speed quads here and for good reason - the quiet of the landscape is preserved (ever realize how loud high speed quads actually are?) along with a slower uphill ride that is to be savored which sets a leisurely pace to your outing. The slower chair ride made me want to savor my time going downhill too. There is no reggae or rock music played inside or outside the lodge on PA speakers. This is the kind of place you visit to get away from the bars, restaurants, lift lines, shuttle parking lots, racer kids, park rats (nope, no park features either) and general "big shot" attitudes that accompany most mountains.

A great place for families with children learning to ski and for seasoned skiers alike. A day ticket takes you from 8am to 10pm except Sundays where there is no night skiing. If you live anywhere in CT and just want to take a few runs on a Saturday night without the commitment and expense of the larger northeast resorts - this is your place. The kind of place where you'll learn to fall in love with lapping the chair and taking in the quiet.

It's a small mountain. The runs are short and few, the chair rides are long. There isn't much at the base except for the necessities. But that's exactly the point: it's not Killington, Stratton, or Stowe. Mohawk has something the big guys don't. The rest is magic.

Awesome, convenient, will staffed, easy rentals and tickets. 25 trails 4 lifts were open and zip you right along. Take a day off and ski during the week, basically half the price of weekend and half the people you'd expect.

We have always had such a great experience at Mohawk. My kids were new to skiing and always had such great instructors-even signing up for last minute lessons they were always accommodating! We went for the first time this season yesterday and had some issues with rental equipment we had brought from another ski rental store. The staff at Mohawk was so helpful and understanding and helped us tremendously to get the problem fixed and out onto the slopes in less than an hour!! Shout out to Jim Shockley for all of your help yesterday! We all had a great day thanks to you!! We look forward to spending many more days there this winter!!

This was the single worst ski school experience th...

This was the single worst ski school experience that I have ever had. The kid Colin who rang us up to get the lift tickets looked as if he was stoned. He tried to over charge us for the lift tickets. I had to look up the Web site to show him that he had the price wrong. I told him that I had a four year old and a seven year old who needs lessons and they put the I a group lesson. OK sound good right? Get to the lesson and my four year old is put in a group with a thirteen year old and another little girl. The woman who was their instructor spent an hour having them walk around on skis and complaining that my son would no listen. They never even went up the magic carpet. Finally after they moved the older girl up to a more appropriate group I watched as my son lay on the ground as the instructor stood by holding the other girls hand and not helping my son up. Thanks a lot Bernadette. Then I come over and they tell me that it's just not working. Wtf!! So I take him up the magic carpet which he was doing before the lesson and show him how to wedge and in ten minutes he was controlling his speed. I spoke with lathe director of the ski school and he was not helpful either. I just wanted a refund for the lesson that I paid for but never given. This was my four year old first time on skis. After getting the run around about not being able to get a refund they gave us a credit for a private lesson. I highly doubt we will ever go back to the inept ski school. Even the mountain director of guest services would not refund us the money that we paid for the pitiful lesson. Thanks trash morrissy. Way to be a leader. I have been going to mohawk since I was a kid, 35 years, but this turned our family away from this mountain. Do your self a favor a go anywhere else to teach your kids to ski. And to the owners Carol lunar and Steve hidden you have lost a loyal family and I will take ever opportunity to share this Storie with all the other families that I know. Thanks for putting the family first.

I went to Mohawk Mountain yesterday and writing a very rare review because the experience was so excellent! It was excellent because the weather was wonderful (beyond their control), because the trails were really well groomed (their control), but most of all, because of their staff (totally their control). There was a big crowd but from the moment we arrived to rent skis, they ushered us along better than Disney!! Everyone from the guy who got me to get the sausage with provolone (great choice) to the amazing staff member who helped us find our skis, they made the day a total memory. Many thanks!! Probably best mountain in CT, 2 for 1 weekday night riding with a Ride & Ski card make this a good place to put in hours and learn how to ski or snowboard. Beginner area is good too, pretty much you can find a trail to go down for all levels of skill.
