If you re ever in Westport, this is one of the best places to shop. I have always had a great experience.

How to describe Mitchells to someone who has never been?

Well, pricey, for one. Even accessories such as belts cost at least one hundred dollars, and expect to spend more on the one you really want. Five hundred dollar turtlenecks are reasonable.

The staff is impeccable, if unsubtle. Drinks, style advice, suit measurments, and a personal rep to recommend products. A diamond showcase is front and center, and the product feels and functions in ways superior to other, less expensive clothing. Your details are saved in a company database, so even when shopping at other locations or affiliated stores you can easily access your data/measurements.

I dress as a minimalist, and their clothing suits my taste as much as it would suit a more creative dresser. If you have the dosh it's worth going.

I ended up having to change my wedding dress last minute, and my wedding venue, and nearly every other aspect of my wedding. I ended up buying a dress that came in street sizes from Anthropologie's bridal line, and I needed to have it altered super last minute. I also wanted some very customized alterations in order to hide my undergarments with ease. I had previously gone to another well-known tailor in the area and they gave me a ludicrous quote for the alterations. My mother suggested I bring my dress in to Mitchells, known for their excellent customer service and attention to detail, and get a second opinion. I was able to get my dress tailored to my specifications for a very reasonable price, and within a very small amount of time.

Great selection of clothing and footwear. If you re not afraid to spend a bit to look good, this is the place for you. Unmatched personal and professional service. Free bagels. My favorite place to shop!

The perfect men's store. Very high end. The selection is outstanding but the greatness is the staff. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Tailoring top flight.

Jack Michell s employees clearly haven t read his book Hug you Customers . On two separate occasions my husband and I have gone in to shop and not one person greeted us or asked if we needed assistance. It s not that they re busy by any means, they typically are talking to each other or just standing around. I m curious if it is because we look like we re in 20s and the sales associates don t take us seriously. Whatever the case may be, I will never be going there again.

I have shopped at Mitchell's many times. It has a well curated selection of clothing, fine jewelry and accessories. I am a huge fan of their buyers. However, their customer service in my personal experience is beyond reprehensible. Bill Mitchell wrote a fabulous book about his service philosophy. Unfortunately members of his staff are unable to meet those standards (or even moderate grace). I go into the city to shop where I know I will be treated well. And I use the Net-A-Porter personal home delivery service (which has basically the same selection but broader). I do not recommend this establishment. It is really a shame that Westport has this lovely store that is ruined by a handful of employees. Go elsewhere.

Shopping at Mitchell's is an absolute pleasure. The staff is incredibly personable, friendly and attentive. Service is top notch and clothing options are abundant and of the finest quality. Just a great all around experience!

Can't say enough about the fantastic service I received while purchasing my Cartier Tank Anglais Watch. Jay was so kind, patient and knowledgeable. I must have gone back half a dozen times and each and every time I was there he answered all of my questions with kindness and respect. I will go back again for sure. Highly recommend them for Cartier. Best Cartier seller in Fairfield County. I have purchased Cartier from two other places and my customer service experience was best at Mitchells.

I now live in nyc but visit my parents in Westport on a regular basis. I have shopped at Mitchell s on and off for 40 years. Shopping there is a pleasure. I walk in and there is no pressure from anyone. I am left alone to shop wo being harassed. I m an adult, I don t need help choosing a pair of pants. When I need help w sizes etc, I walk 50 feet and say, excuse me, can you help me please? The sales person says absolutely, what do you need? I love that type of service. I get to walk around and enjoy the experience wo feeling rush or harassed.

Their selection of high end merchandise is fantastic with many different designers. The store is like having 20 different Madison ave botiques under one roof.

Phenomenal service! Special shoutout to Jay who is a Cartier specialist. I purchased a watch a while back and while the Cartier store said I need to spends a few thousand, Jay was able to save the watch at minimal spend. Wow wow wow, better services than Cariter itself - Thank you! I will only buy my watches from Mitchells and I highly recommend them.
