I didn't catch any fish here, probably because I'm terrible at fishing. Many ponds to choose from and an office where you can talk to rangers. Info is available about the area in the office.

Great place to see wildlife. The kids love walking around. As well there is a horse ranch across from here where you can ride. Amazing location for a first date or a day relaxing and a bit of fishing with the family

Live this area. My favorite place to relax or do get some decent fishing in. Some of the best fishing in the area.

Only reason getting the 4 and not a 5 because I watched people dump trash and scattered trash around the lakes other than that not bad

We had a field trip here with our zoology class, it was beautiful place I can't wait to bring the little ones back to explore.

Fishing can be tough at times. But overall clean areas with easy access to the water. Plover and Jackrabbit are my top 2 for bass. Bluestem and Nell for catfish.

There's a lot of lakes and plenty of room for fishing and a fair bit of wildlife.

James A. Reed is a beautiful park and I come here to do my homework all the time but I always catch trucks watching me from a distance or repeatedly passing by.

Great place for hiking, biking, fishing. MDNR office is friendly and helpful. Used to have public restrooms by the lakes but took those down, which can be inconvenient. Lots of wildlife for watching and photos.

Nice place to fish , walk , look for wildlife. Areas getting lots of brush so can't see that well in the fields. Hope they cut it back. , but the manager don't want too.

I like to go here to fish. There are many variety of ponds, which is pretty cool. Some need to be mowed better though.

Excellent fishing. Several spots to chose from in the shade. Gates close at ten though.

I go here as often as I can. It has great hiking trails. Plenty of wildlife and good fishing at the lakes here.

A great place for fishing and hunting. There is a really awesome archery course as well.

This was and honestly still is one of my favorite places to go. It s perfect for being one with nature, watching deer and other wildlife, and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Sadly, lately there has been some suspicious and unfortunate circumstances that have left me feeling not as safe to go out there alone. I have seen people doing drugs in their cars, burying things, and dumping animals. I will be walking the trails and see trash all throughout. It appears this haven of a place is starting to be taken for granted and there seems to be little monitoring or enforcements in place to make sure it stays safe, sacred, and clean.

i just had to say this in a horse trail there are four abandoned cars but no one knows please spread the word

There are main walking paths and then there are some in the trees. Nice stream to follow and a cliff. There are many ponds to be able to fish in as well.

It's beautiful a great place to get away from the Hussle and buddle of the city

If you want to take a walk in a peaceful environment this is the place to go. TRAILHEAD BY BODARK LAKE .
If you want to fish in a peaceful environment you will have to search for a spot on the backside of a lake or come during the week.

It was as beautiful as always today in the rain. Always enjoy my slow drive through checking out each lake in search of wildlife.

We have been going here for about idk 5 months or so. Have only fished one pond so far and havent caught a single fish yet but I believe we'll be coming here a lot in the spring and summer.
The nature trails are awesome. My daughter whos 7 and my son who is 6 live to hike them. Great place to take the kids

I love going to James A. You can fish, hike, walk your dog, ride your horse or bike and just enjoy nature. Many lakes that are spread out and it never really seems crowded.
