Great place, good Fishing ,easy access for handy cap people

Cool walking spot, a few lakes. A little wildlife. I was surprised there were so many vehicles passing by as secluded as it was

Hiking trails are beautiful, mystic scenery, gleaming waters, and overall a great experience. Please go here if you are willing to enjoy spring weather!

Love James A Reed because it's a great place to take the family or just for some alone time with nature! You can walk trails, fish, take boats out (no motors) there's certain hunting privileges as well! It's just beautiful!

Wow the fall pictures I took for a family at the kids pond were gorgeous.

This area proves why Missouri has one of the best conservation departments in the nation. Diverse, well maintained and stocked fishing areas, as well as some top notch walking trails and archery ranges. James A. Reed Conservation Area is truly a showcase of some of the best outdoor activities the state has to offer!

Thankful for places like this. Beautiful and nature is kept in mind

Nice hike in the winter with my pup. Tried trout fishing, no luck but scenery is always worth it.

Great place to go walking. Some of the trails can be a bit overgrown depending on the time of year, but for the most part it's a good place for walks.

Great place 4 fishing and hiking and biking the folks in the administrative building are very friendly and very helpful and there is a good supply of area maps and trails and things of that nature.

There either biting or there not. They stock trout also but i have not had any luck. Bass are iffy. Lots of lil bluegill. Out of all the times through the years I've been there only 2 good days i can remember. Extremely busy also. Still its nice ta have this place around to take the kids out to. Just watch out for snakes.

Only outside year round ARCHERY range in miles. A fair sight in range with 20 yds, 30yds, 40yds butts with 6 black targets on them.
Real good bathroom facilities for men and women.
This all leads to a 28 butt field range in the woods. Not well maintained due to a small state staff to care for the many conservation locations in their preview.

Great for fishing or a nice nature walk on the trails! Love going here!

It's really a beautiful place to fish with many different lakes

I love this place for fishing. The reason for the four stars is that the office is only open from Monday through Friday, closed on the weekend. That's when it's the busiest and because there's no rangers in the area there are A LOT of people breaking the rules of this beautiful nature preserve.

Well maintained and offers a bevy of fishing and recreation options.

Well maintained ponds to fish in. Great local place to be able to get aine wet for a few hours. Several species of fish to be caught at the many ponds.

I LOVE this place!!! So many water areas to go to, so many trails to walk. So much nice grass - beautiful place for a getaway. Just lots of open fresh air space.

Great area to take family and spend some time outdoors. Plenty of lakes for fishing, and a special lake reserved just for kids to fish on. There is a hiking trail that is great for kids.

Nice area with several trails and ponds to fish in. Overall it isn't very exciting. The land is flat without any wow factors. They do have family events and offer public hunting at times. If you live local and want to walk with nature or dip your line in the water this will do.

Fishing is good. Some beautiful scenery. Shame how much trash gets left behind by folks. Pack it in, pack it out.

Big nature park. Several lakes that are good for fishing.

Great place. Over hunted though. Never see a rabbit or a quail let alone deer. Need to put in some fish in the lakes too.

Fishing, biking, walking and a visitors center. Great spot to get away for a few hours. Multiple lakes for fishing and paved roads for your bike

J.A.R. is a wonderful place to get away from it all, and get back to nature.

Not enough spots to park. A lot of turtles. Not sure they stock with fish.

Beautiful lake areas all around with decent fishing. Closes too early for what I'd like and no real boating besides the small ones you can rent.

Get there early bring life jackets and grab a boat. Several beautiful spots to fish.
