Poor quality care by burnt out staff.

An abysmally bad hospital. I was there as a patient and many of the older staff were cynical, grumpy and uncaring. They frequently told lies to patients, and about them. By contrast the relatively small number of young staff were nicer, more caring and helpful.
The weekly "ward rounds" were a farce. Doctors would hardly allow me to finish a sentence before hustling me out of the room so that they could deal with the next patient.
The overall impression I gained was that the older staff were quite simply "burnt out". The best thing for the NHS to do is to pension all of them off and replace them with much younger, kinder, staff.

The staff was lovely no fault in that it's just ashame I was discharged and made to pack my bags crying that I feel unsafe. I tried killing myself 2 nights earlier in Millbrook and then was discharged and basically left back on my own, after begging and pleading I don't want to leave. You're basically left to do your own thing in there, everyday the same for those who don't get visitors. And hour here and there with an OT but nothing that particularly helps you to get better. Mental hospitals are meant to inspire recovery, as Millbrook had written through the hallways. I left feeling worse then when I came in. My meds where not sorted like they said they would do, the only thing that changed was I got diagnosed. And then that same night made to discharge myself. I understand if perhaps they are struggling for beds etc, but that makes it worse, I was made to feel I wasn't as important as everyone else. There should be around the clock therapy to get people feeling back to themselves so there stay isn't long in hospital or so if they do get made to discharge themselves like myself they do not feel they haven't achieved anything, if I left with a few ways to help me cope and perhaps better support when I did get home. My 3* would be a lot higher. I would say 1* but the staff themselves where lovely and only doing there jobs. Please, sort the mental health system out.

I would recommend this ward more than any other ward staff are very kind caring and generous, they treat you more than family than just a number, I would like to say thank you, after feeling alone in this world you all made me feel welcome listened to my problem and took time out to see if I was ok. Again thank you

This mental health facility is the perfect example of how underfunded and neglected the mental health system of the NHS currently is. Something really needs to change. Not just with this poor excuse of a psychiatric facility but with the system in the UK as a whole

Worst most toxic workplace ive worked at , the whole structure is indemic of people who believe they have the right to speak down to both members of staff and patients.
The whole of the staff from top down needs to be removed ASAP put in place better trained staff who have compassion and empathy for the staff and the patients then and only then can it start to rebuild it's self.

Should be an option for minus 5. The staff are so rude and aggressive. They refused to let me see my partner. If that is what they call customer service then it's a joke. How they help people is beyond me. In my opinion they just seem to make people feel worse. Even criminals don't get treated this bad

Would of been five stars but their short staffed, the building is old compared to Kings Mill new build. an some of the Dodgier BSing patients. Let the others down. Besides that it's good and I'd come again.

As the gf of a patient who had never been before and then my bf refusing to see me... I was then confronted by a nurse in a turquoise top, who made me feel extremely unwelcome. She offered no reassurance and when I enquired of he was making progress, she snapped back at me 'he is actually'. That was as far as her communication started and ended. I then asked her pass on something to which I was met with an eye roll. After an hours drive, a bit of personal and professional interaction would have been nice. Unfortunately I didn't get her name. I hope they are not all like her.
