Lovely place on the water. Great after a morning at the beach. Food was great, service was fine. The wait was longer than anticipated (they said 35, and it was closer to 50), but the views and drinks were worth it!

The day was Mothers Day and we expected a high volume but this restaurant can not handle a large crowd. The parking people tried but with no plan it was a disaster. The inside to register with the hostesses, My wife is ahead of me and my daughter was behind we arrive at the hostess station and then another woman walks up and all of us are ignored but then a man walks up and the hostesses take his name and give him a light up square thing and tell him there will be a wait then the woman that came in behind us was helped then still we were ignored until my wife how long was the wait the reply was did we want inside or outside. Which one is faster the wife asks and we are told we will have to get on both lists. Well we take the inside and wander up to the bar after a few minutes we get 3 seats together, after about an hour we ask one of bar tenders if we can order there so we do and we get our meals after we finish the light goes off and then over a loud speaker we hear that our car needs to be moved so someone can get out. I have never seen any place that would ask you to leave your meal because they messed up the parking. The food is good but Mike can not handle a big day and they Host staff have poor attitudes. It is worth the trip for the food but not on a busy day !!!! Also on a hot day and no frozen drinks !!!

I was so disappointed to find out that a dozen of crabs cost $75 or $79. The seafood platter was OK, didn't like that you couldn't substitute the fish that came with it, it was nasty to me no taste and to think.

I was recommended to Mike's restaurant, by a friend. I traveled from DC to Annapols on August 26, 2017 and was seated at 7:55pm this evening and by 8:35 I had not received any service (Not even a glass of water). I asked for a manager, explained my experience and left. NO SERVICE/ BAD SERVICE, Today for me it's one in the same.

My family and I (a party of 16 inc 8 adults and 6 children) came to Mike's as a Mother's Day celebration on Saturday, May 9th and everyone had a wonderful time. The restaurant was quite busy and we had to wait, but it was worthwhile. Thank you for a wonderful time!!

Established very nicely great for a view and a drink. Cut up with friends. If your looking for a sit down place with good service. I think I just got the too busy of a server to get excused not to having great. Still tipped her. Steph just has to learn no matter 10 to 20 tables. I even got up from our table paid to the side bar for a refill of my drink. After waiting 35 minutes to see her coming to drop entress. Dont worry my 70 check to 10 peoples 500 check is pointless to complain about. Thanks sasha manager for not doing anything about this. It will still exsist. Have fun. Have a great ending season.

The food is yummy and so are the drinks! The only thing I don't like is that they won't do separate checks. Be prepared to get one check for the entire table and figure out your portion of the bill.

Crabs were excellent! The seasoning was perfect. The location is great as well...right on the water with a good atmosphere. We were lucky to beat the lunch rush because it filled up quickly.

The pros: The crabs are fantastic...good sizes, cooked right. Many of the other food items are great as well such as the crabcakes, Maryland crab soup, calamari, and more. You really can't go wrong with the food here at Mike's. The atmosphere is very casual and laid back. About what you'd expect for a crab house. The views on the South River aren't too bad either.

The cons: Service is so-so. A lot of their serving staff seems to be on the younger, less experienced side so there's room for improvement there. I don't think we've had the same server twice in all the times we've been here...our visits to Mike's aren't terribly frequent - maybe once every other month - and I've never really noticed the same serving staff on duty from one visit to the next. And if you're trying to come here on a weekend during the summer months, you can count on a rather long wait not only to get a table but even just to get a parking space! Definitely plan ahead if you're determined to come to Mike's Crab House on a summer Saturday afternoon.

We stopped by Mike's on our way to the beach to treat the kids to crabs. What a horrible decision. Crabs were obviously pre-cooked as they came to the table in about 13-15 minutes. They gave us 11 crabs (which somehow the waiter disputed though there were 11 crabs on the table), five of which were stone cold. Our waiter looked like Jeff Spicoli in Fast Times as he appeared to be stoned out of his mind. Plus they were "large" crabs for $75 /dozen and at least half were barely 5 inches. Complete disaster meal and will NEVER go there again. Of course they don't have an email address on their website so the feedback they get must be interesting.

Great food great view right by the water. We ordered a dozen of crabs, fish sandwich and apple pie. It is the biggest fish filet I have even seen on a sandwich. Crabs are super fresh & delicious but it takes patience to get the little meat out the shell, the legs & the claws. This restaurant is well known locally and very popular. We went for lunch on Sunday. The wait was 1.5 hours.

Not really much for a vegetarian here. While that sounds crazy, sometimes your vegetarian friends want to eat out with you even if you're going to a crab place. That said, my guy says the crabs are fantastic! The salad bar was kinda sad. Sure, you can make a salad, but the salad mixings were lacking. They also have baked potatoes and cheese sticks for ovo-lacto vegetarians. Great location, it's right on the water! Overall a good experience but it would be nice to have other options as a vegetarian.

We arrived at 8pm and was told there would be a 1.5 to 2 hour wait. That was fine because they had outdoor bar and misic. Upon outside we discovered there is a separate list for ouside seating. So we place our name on that list as well at about 8:40p and was told the wait time is 1.5 hour.
At 8:50pm we got texted for the inside our table was ready.
The host verified us and walked us to a dirty table. She asked if we could wait while she cleaned it.
She cleaned the table and we sat down about 9:10pm. We sat waiting on our server until 925pm and then we got a text that our outside table was ready, so we notified the hostess that we were moving outside.
Allie our server was quick, assertive and Great.

"The Best"..... not much more to say. 42 years, life long in Maryland. And Mike's is the best. Don't post how you did not like the pork chops..... it is a Maryland crab house and seafood house.... stay in your lane and order seafood and crab cakes. Thank you Mikes!!! My little boy and I have made lifetime memories on your dock, and for this I'm forever grateful. Order the crabcake platter, then you will understand Maryland!!

Always a great dining experience at Mike's Restaurant & Crabhouse, our waitress Avery was great. She was very attentive to our every need and the food as always was very good. A great place to unwind and enjoy the view.

I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be like Mike's is what all the DMV area seafood restaurants should be shouting. This was my first time eating at Mike's and it will not be my last time. Mike's hold a table for JMB and the whole dag on crew. I loved the crab balls they were very delicious. The crabs are to live for and the hush puppies were outstanding. I'm a stickler for positive energy. Mike's energy from the staff was on point. Our server Jeff was patient, courteous, and swift with bringing our food. The overall environment took my mood into another dimension. Very relaxed place. Oh by the way the prices are reasonable.

I called about getting a table for 8. I was advised I didn't need a reservation that it is not busy at 4:00. As a result we wasted 45 minutes waiting for a table.

On the plus side: the service and food are great if you like fried stuff.

YUM!!

Hmmm,

Hmmm,
Where do I start. First off, the waitress was great. That's the end of the good stuff.

The place is a tourist trough. My wife ordered a lobster and it had been boiled so it was a gooey tasteless mess inside. I ordered a NY strip and asked for medium rare. It came out medium to well done. I showed the waitress and she said "they blew it, I'll get you a new one.

Next I know the manager comes out and says,

"that steak was medium rare so we can't accommodate you on the steak (in other words, we aren't going to try again), Do you want something else?

I told him I didn't want anything else and all I could say was "WOW". I couldn't believe it. The manager said (embarrassed and sheepishly) "I understand your frustration.". It turns out he had ordered a new steak but the owner said no new steak and sent the manager out to deliver the news.

The waitress was totally apologetic and gave us a free dessert. Like I said, she was great.

Won't ever go there again. It obviously has a steady stream of tourists so the owner can give the figurative finger to his guests.

I wasn't too upset because I was sooo floored by the owner's behavior.

What can you do?
