My family has had terrible experience having a deal with this company when we moved from home to home.
We have been Mercury customers since 2008. For about three years, they were a headache to deal with because their customer service was so poor. But, man, they've upped their game. Since 2011 I have had ZERO issues with them. Even after moving to a different city and not using their service for a year, they put us back on with ease and offered us a great 2 year fixed rate. Every customer service communication has been clear and I have not had to follow up because they did what they said they would. So, Mercury, you get FIVE stars from me, and I never give those away.
Send me a letter saying they have been supplying gas to my place when i just moved in and needs me to create an account with them so I did then when I got the bill they charged me a few hundred dollars when we didn't use any gas at all. Terrible company that just tries to scam people.
Family of 3 averaging $60 on non winter $80 on winter per month is amazing. Mercury Go app step challenges are awesome, keeps me fit and saves me money plus the free power days! You can also email customer service and get a quick response
Spam callers harassing people to pay them for power. Please do not allow for this unprofessional behaviour
I have a business account and a household account with this company. Everytime I called, the people on the phone was rude, bad customer service and racist to my English even I am paid thousands dollars per month bills for this company. All I need is someone patient enough to communicate with. Planing to transfer to another company then. Too bad. If you guys want customer I think u guys should work out on your staffs first. The Indian lady on phone wasn't the best at english than any international around here but she is so bossy when I tried to sign up. and the white dude on phone with me is super racist, love to cut people on phone off and being annoying to whatever I said cause he didn't listen to any international English. Too bad for a company with such a nice platform. I am still super angry, disappointed. I never think about the number that it can be expensive or not. All I need is a good customer service. Shame!!!
No problems. Have used them for a few years. Easy to use website and App. For some reason they encourage you to walk and then give you a discount accordingly.
Disgusting customer service, very bad , and also i found this company dodgy as i been away for 3 weeks they still been charged for everyweek, their excuses was my hotwater was on even if u not use water . I faced 91$ bill when I returned after 3 weeks
Since one hour I try to get information about an power outage notification, was told to call another to get told to get another number, to get told to call the first number again, my problem is still not solved and I reckon, no one is interested at all.

Zero customer service. Wasted hours and nothing done. If you think you don't need to contact them forever, then you can sign up with them.
Extremely disappointed in Mercury's, poor service, wasted 20 days of our
company's time with Yes/No answers and increased their charges. Also couldn't refund an over payment or separate different properties into different accounts. Competitors can and do! It's a shame as I was initially attracted by their advertising campaign of clean and green. So sad they can't back this with efficient, caring customer service.
Very bad company. Likes to add uncommunicated charges once you move away from this. I'm not talking about a termination fee either. Stay away from them.

Bills $600 + for 2 people that are rarely home to even USE electricity -- no explanation just very greedy (bills keep increasing with no rationale) with price and poor customer service. I don't have anything good to say about this company except that they are rip off artists

I was calling to sign up with these guys. First call - someone hung up on me. Second call they said they will pass me onto the commercial team and waited 30 minutes, still nothing. Can't what the service is for existing customers if this is how they treat new customers. Decided to go for another company.
So disappointed at the lack of service we have received from Mercury energy, we have now moved to another company after being with you for years because of how we have been treated. Just beyond belief how you have handled things, it's just disgusting. So appalled.
Good on your Mercury, you now want to add 0.71% to my bill for having had a credit card associated with it for almost 15 years. You even charge for paying over the counter. You want everyone to direct debit which creates more issues of having to make sure you have the funds in the account each month. With a credit card, you never need to worry. It makes absolute no sense at all, you say you will give a 2% discount if you use direct debit. So Mercury takes a loss of 2% on every invoice. If you are willing to lose this, then why can't you pay the 0.71% credit card fee, you will make 1.29% and you are also guaranteed to get payment ontime, win win if you ask me. So maybe its all a tactic to get more money out of customers who forget or don't have money in the nominated account, so the customer is then charged extra penalties and also misses out on the prompt payment discount. Seriously thinking of switching

I rang them and they told me they were sending someone out, only to have to ring them 2 hours later for them to tell me they re not actually sending someone out and they can t help us!
Absolutely appalling customer service and won t help you when you re in need!

Wish I could give a 0 star. Random bill received of $1000 today. Apparently all the bills I've paid so far (for the past 9 months) are just "estimated". The guy who came and read my Meter also confirmed it was the expected reading. I would've been fine to pay the normal amounts monthly but to be slapped with a random 1k bill. Poor service. Will make sure to tell everyone not to use this power provider until I'm in the grave.
Terrible company to deal with, really don t care about their customers at all.
Decided to change in May last year, this was instigated then our of the blue informed by Mercury "Thanks for deciding to stay with us." All this without communication. Informed them switch was still on, in a weak attempt to retain us by offering ridiculous terms to stay with them. Switch was completed in late June [ thankfully. Fantastic savings with new supplier. Avoid!!
I've signed 2 years contruct that I was introduced the App I can earn Murcury dollars to help pay the bill myself also, motivates me to exercise.
Very disappointing that only worked a few weeks. Delete/re-download many times, took phone to the shop to check.
I rang customer service but they say nobody else has the probs.
Looking at the review, there are a few comments same as me but customer service doesn't seem to be care about it.
I will change to cheaper company when contruct expires.

Scammed me out of $600.. Appalling customer service when I tried to get it rectified. Moved to genesis and are so much better, saved 30%.
Current mercury customer. They continue to send me emails to download their app despite them restricting their own app from being downloaded by users with foreign google account (completely irrelevant and unrelated).
Don't waste your time and money on this company, very expensive and worst customer service. Megatel is much cheaper option.

Have you ever had a power outage with Mercury? Because that's when the quality of their customer service really shows. After having power disconnected twice, I spent 72 hours stuck at an empty property trying to get someone to come and reconnect it. The people on the phone kept on bouncing me to Vector, who would sometimes bounce me back to Mercury, resulting in the most frustrating customer experience I have had in my life. There is a real problem with such a large company having such dismal customer service. Please find an alternative company to buy your power from.
Absolutely DISGUSTING customer service. Whom ever I spoke with choose to speak to me like I was a thick plank of wood. I actually have a University degree, and usually prefer to speak to people with respect whether or not they have knowledge about gas connections. As I can see from other reviews poor customer service seems to be a reoccurring issue, luckily there are plenty of competitive power companies.
Just watched your new tv advert ... love it. The farmer with his old truck that gets taken away and then he is driving the EV and singing. Superb
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! Account has been in absolute state for the past 6 months!!! credits, billing, double billing, credits.... who knows what's going on! WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH EVER! received a $322 bill for December and we not even using the property??? Received a so called credit in October for the mess that was made on our account only to be double billed again in December for both October and November! WORST CHARGES, WORST AT TAKING OWNERSHIP WHEN THEY MESS UP AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! STAY AWAY!
We have been a customer for a few years now (4/5?) and very happy with the service. Good pricing and the 100% renewable energy gets a big tick. Easy account management, free energy days and really impressed with the Mercury Go app. Makes payment and energy usage tracking very easy. Also free $s off the bill for stepping out and getting some exercise. What s not to like?
just poor service and bill not even right meter nr... 2x more meter reading nr than what is actually on the meter... almost waiting a 2 weeks to sort out a bill... idiots and still got told must wait another 5 days....

This is a good company. I called them about an issue and it was easy to get through and they fixed it quickly.
I cannot express how terrible the customer service is. The rates charged are significantly more than competitors.
