It's been a couple of years now and my 94 year old father's basement is still dry as a bone. My family and I still appreciate the great job that was done by your team and we wish you a happy 2020 year.

I had no problems with this company for the last 18yrs since they installed my sump pump. Customer service was always polite and 2 times I needed a tech they were on time and professional. However, Mid-Atlantic is no longer in business. All numbers are disconnected.

I have never been treated worse by a company. I understand that sometimes things don t work out with a project but the lack of accountability is astonishing. After the job failed to be completed properly, they simply say sorry which does nothing for my ruined carpet and drywall that I installed in the basement. It goes without saying I would not ever recommend MidAtlantic.

I have called 9 times and secretary screens the calls. I leave a message but nobody returns my call. Terrible company and my basement flooded badly after their service. They can t find me in the system. Imagine that. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere

They use fear tactics when you are most vulnerable and they say you need way more work done than necessary. We were quoted $17,000 to install drains all around the house and backfill under our steps when all we needed was a new sump pump. Don't sign any contract until you get more estimates.

I asked them to come to the house for an estimate. I had a good idea already of what needed to be done. The salesperson was there for over 2 hours. I could not get him to leave, despite asking him to repeatedly. He insisted on sitting at the kitchen table to write an involved proposal that he insisted on meticulously going through with me. He tried to convince me that my house needed the proposed work or would not remaining standing. He (finally) left with an outrageous price, compared to other companies.

They have since called twice with excuses to give us discounts and bring the price down. The two other companies I got estimates used the same tactics of quoting an exorbitant price, then calling a week later to tell us that we were eligible for "special" discounts.

They might do fine work, but their sales tactics upset me.

Worst customer service ever! I'm still trying to get a claim settled and my home fixed from a May claim. The whole thing cost me a contract on my home and a home owners insurance deductible and it's still not fixed and people won't call me back! Think twice before choosing them.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I spent thousands that I didn t need to and they had still tried to convince me that I needed even more work done. Three years later I had to pay another plumbing company to fix their mess after they were totally unresponsive and stopped returning my calls. The sump pumps they put in were the cheapest possible and were not installed corrected the pit was so small the floats did not work properly. After only 3 years the pumps were useless. I had to have the whole thing dug up and redone by a more reputable firm. STAY AWAY from this company! Their warranty isn t worth the paper it s printed on!!!

After going back and forth with Mid-Atlantic and them trying to sell me a chimney wrap which isn't anything more than what they have already done, I finally agreed to let their tech come out again. We setup a time for the tech to come out between 2 and 4 pm. I arrived at my house at 2:10 and he was already gone. I called the company about 2:20 and when they called me back they told me he called them from my house at 2:05. They wanted to setup another time for him to come out. I received a call on my cell phone at 1:21 pm that had the caller ID information blocked. I would assume that was there tech calling. He basically came to my house an hour early and left. If he was really at my house at 2:05 I would have saw his vehicle in the neighborhood as I drove to the house. I'm sure Mid-Atlantic's service scheduler was lying about the time the tech was there and even if he wasn't he's really not going to hang around 10 minutes to see if someone is going to show up. Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing is the worst company I've ever done business with.

I am a customer of Mid-Atlantic. We had a contract with them to install 2 sumps pumps and new drain tiles under our basement. Their product might work (after they thoroughly do the work) but the headache, lack of responsibility, and implication that they are not responsible for things in the contract pushes me to say DO NOT USE THEM.

*They are VERY pushy about getting everything paid before they finish the work. Like, I got calls from 2-3 receptionists, the salesperson, the project manager, and a few others. They had not scheduled to complete the work before they asked for the money (and sometimes a few times a day).

*They have salespeople (Matt) who are pleasant and make you feel confident about the product and workmanship. This was not our experience during execution. We were told there would be no contractors and that everyone was employed via Mid-Atlantic (one of our concerns as we wanted to ensure all workers were licensed and ensured). MA employed contractors to complete the work. The salesperson is trying to make the sale and will say what he needs to sell the product.

*Mid Atlantic created three building permits for the work. One (the electrical) failed because they did not do what was stated on the permit. They never followed up with correcting the inspection (from September 27) and now, 4 months later, I am still trying to get them in the house to fix the electrical work. I am getting attitude that this is not part of our contract and implying they are doing this to be nice. However, this is part of the sump pump installation.

*The receptionists, while tersely polite, are terrible to speak with. They are condescending and impatient on the phone as you try to ask them for help. They take their time in responding to you (the general wait is 2 days) and usually you end up speaking to 2-3 receptionists before anything happens.

*After the initial sump pump inspection, the workers did not turn the sump pump on (as owners, we had not yet been trained on the equipment). That night it rained and the whole basement flooded, worse than before installing MA materials. This fully ruined our belongings, including a mattress that was soaked through with water. We had them take $500 off our bill.

*After our basement CONTINUED to flood, it took 2 months to get someone in the door to correct it - and only because I followed up repeatedly. There was one gentleman who understood my frustration but he's too busy to be really of service.

*The workers who came were surly - they all seemed to have a chip on their shoulder for having to come to the house again and again. Possibly if they'd been thorough (finding and sealing cracks, not leaving the sump pumps unplugged, etc) they would not have had to come again.

*The workers take no care for your property. They ruined our lawn, dragging materials around it. Also, our salesperson Matt had stated that they would be cutting up the drywall, but did not say it was our responsibility to remove the debris (we had to talk to the project manager about clearing it away as the workers told me they would do it, then the PM was renegging, and all the while claiming they were contractors who had no authority even though we were told they were all "employees".)

I initially contacted Mid-Atlantic to provide an estimate for waterproofing my basement. I had a leak coming up from the cove on the floor on an interior wall. I was told I would need to add a third sump-pump and trench my entire basement to add a weeping hole system, they quoted me an initial price of 40k. I declined to move forward. Two months later they called and asked if they could re-assess the basement and provide a better price because the representative had made a mistake. They then quoted me a price of 27k. I still refused because it just seemed to high and unnecessary to do the entire basement for an issue on a 17' run on an interior wall. They then came out and suggested only doing the section with the issue (as I already was aware of it being the only problem) and quoted me a price of $5,800. I provided a $100 deposit during the waiting period to lock in the price( I should've know it was a rip off) and they cashed my check and never provided my refund when I decided not to go with them. It's been over six months and I believe they've gone out of business and I still haven't received the refund That "Tammy" so called mailed out. Shame on me for giving them a chance in the first place. If you need waterproofing, please do not contact this company. Do your research and choose someone else. They are over priced scammers. I still have all my paper work from December and none of the phone numbers on any of their business cards or documents are active. Lifetime warranty my *** DON't BE FOOLED like I was.

This company does not honor their word, commitments, your time etc. Broken appointments, no shows, no return phone calls. Spent over 10k and problem still exists and we can t get anyone to correct the issues. Staff quits and leaves no written description of what has to be done. Managers have made promises that aren t kept either. Color us incredibly frustrated.

To Whom It May Concern:

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing concerning the company Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing located at, 9145 Guilford Rd, Suite 180, Columbus, MD 21046. With trust in the company, I had them to come out to my home to do evaluate and perform repairs within my home.

However I was only left feeling deceived, dissatisfied, and disappointed. Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing was responsible for repairing the foundation on the right side of my home because it was separating and causing the walls in my basement to mold. It was stated to them that I was very concerned because I have small children and family who resides with me. They tore down the wall with the mold on it, but that was it. No repairs were done to the right side of my home. Instead, after already tearing down my wall, it was stated to me that it would cost a lot of money to get the repairs done. Then it was suggest to me that I get a loan or have my 20 year old son to take out a loan in order to get the repairs done. I stated to them that I could not afford to apply for a loan because I am a single mom who is paying all my bills by myself. Instead of Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing fixing them problem that needed to be repaired, which I trusted them to do, they made matters worse and caused more damage to my home.

The gentleman from Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing that met with me on November 19, 2019 told me that they were going to dig six feet into my driveway so that they could fix the foundation. However, that which was stated to me was not done. Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing dug up concrete on the inside of my basement and also cut the 2x4s in the family room, bedroom, bathroom and the wall which is connected to the laundry room. This is not what was stated would be done in the process of my home repairs, which is very disappointing. Also, I was harassed by the company for refusing to sign a second agreement because I was unsatisfied with the way they left my home. They called and also had someone to come out to my home on their behalf to ask me to sign the agreement. Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing has taken advantage of me during this entire process. I believe part of that reasoning is due to me being a black single woman that has never had any foundation repairs done to my home. I believe they were able to take advantage of me knowing I didn t fully understand the contract instead of making sure everything was thoroughly broken down to me before signing the first agreement.

I have reached out to lawyers and tried to seek legal advice and help. Unfortunately, they are unwilling to assist me in this matter due to me not having the money to pay them. I have also reached out to my insurance company and they were also unable to assist me concerning this matter with Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing Company. I am reaching out and voicing my concerns with this company hoping that I will receive the help needed and be assisted with which steps to take for further action.

Thank you.

I scheduled an appointment on June 25th with this branch of the company for today 7/23 between 9:00am & 11:00am. Sense this appointment was scheduled during normal business hours It was mandatory for me to take a vacation day from work. On the morning of my appointment I waited around the house from 8:00am until 10:30am at this time I decided to call the branch and see what was going on with my appointment. To my surprise they found it difficult to identify my account in the system so I happily gave them all of my information again. After being put on hold about 4 times they finally found my account and which senior inspector I was scheduled to meet with. It turns out that he claimed he called multiple times in attempts to reschedule however I did not receive a voicemail, missed call, or even an email for that matter. I feel my time has been wasted due to the negligence of this office and company. Please be aware that this companies communication skills are lacking. I would recommend calling the office a week prior to an appointment just to make sure you are still scheduled. I am disappointed that I had to go through all of this just to reschedule my appointment for a later date. Hopefully it is not canceled again.

Mid Atlantic did work for us a few years back. After a complaining several time they finally came out and re did the work. Recently we had an issue we a sump pump under warranty and they have been giving me the run around including giving me an appointment and they never showed up. Since they missed the appointment I have called several times including email and haven t received a call back. Horrible all around from start to finish. The sales person uses horrible tactics that actually work, many years later and we still feel doped and insulted.
