The main theater is very classical-looking, and they have a great organist that often plays before shows.

Very cozy venue! The service folks are always helpful and friendly. Alcohol is an interesting situation. You have to be a member of the organization to purchase alcohol, but you can sign up for a year on the spot. Totally worth the few dollars, and comes with a magazine subscription!

I had a lovely time..one of the best experiences it's best for when going with a group of friends because the movie theatre is pretty small that it feels like your own private theatre. Or just catch the last show

What an amazing place! The pipe organ is such a pleasure to hear and watch as it is played.
The staff is very kind and attentive. Concessions are very fast and they have a wonderful variety of snacks and drinks.

It's a good theater in downtown Ann Arbor. There's a parking structure across the street. I've seen comedians and play/shows here and they've all been good and the venue worked well for each. If you want alcohol you have to but a year membership for about $10 first - it sucks to pay the extra but that's how they can get a liquor license so i guess you deal with it if you want to drink.

This is a gorgeous movie theater! The staff are very friendly and helpful and there are heaping portions of popcorn. Worth a bit of a drive if you aren't nearby in Michigan. They have a really good selection of independent films. It also doesn't hurt on a hot day that they blast the AC. I Love the Michigan Theater!

The theater is beautiful and very comfortable compared to most old theaters with traditional seating. The only mediocre thing was the popcorn.

Lovely centre and well cared for historic building with much evidence of history and the story of it's history. For a concert venue, we were disappointed in the acoustics.

Rocky Horror Picture Show was the best! The theater even allowed shadow casting which they have not allowed for years!

Amazing nonprofit theater! You would think this would be a super expensive place, but ticket prices for movies are quite reasonable. There are a number of great shows available with most seats being pretty solid choices. The screening room in the back is sufficient. Take some time to walk around and admire the architecture. This space is gorgeous.

Just a nice place to take a friend or lover / partner for a chill movie night plus there s lots of bar an restaurant on state Street.

Got VIP tickets for Ron White, and was able to hear only about 1/2 of the show. The sound was TERRIBLE. His voice, and that of the opening act, was unintelligible. I wouldn t have spent so much for VIP tickets if I knew I d have to brush up on my lipreading skills.

Beautiful building, saw a violent femms show here and it was a great time. Modern theater with guilded gold walls, cathedral cealing and booz. There was an upstairs that did not have access. Great fun.

Beautiful historic location with small cozy theatres. I enjoyed my experience here despite the mildly uncomfortable seats.

Historic and beautiful. But it was very cold. Was the heat even on?

Replaced all the seats with soft red recliners. The theaters are that big but are very nice.

Amazing, it still looks like an old theater, old fashioned! It brings you back of decades!

Love seeing a live show here. Always a good time, great view no matter where you sit, great sound. Just a FYI, to drink booze you have to join the "club" for $5. If you frequent the theater, it's a great deal. Otherwise not worth it for a 1 night show.

A nice vintage theater that plays new movies every now and then. The organist who plays before every screening is an absolute treasure and adds to the experience.

Amazing concert venue, there s not many historic theaters like this around these days. Staff was very friendly, ushers were helpful, but concessions closed early.

It's a cool theater. Saw Lewis black here. Seats are very small and uncomfortable for a 2 hour show. You have to buy some sort of alcohol pass to buy drinks. Parking is tough. There is a garage across the street but it is a nightmare to get out of.

Geogerous decoration, great place for watching independent movies.

Recently enjoyed the Will Kratts show and it was fabulous, the best I've seen for children. We enjoyed it as much as the kids. If you're an animal lover, check their show out. You won't be sorry. This is a very nice theater! Has lots of style and personality. Comfortable seats and snack bar available during intermissions.

Great historic venue with wonderful pipe organ music before the movie.

The seats are tight and small, but the old style vaudeville theatre is well worth seeing. It was wonderful to hear and see former Secretary of State Madeline Albright, but I wish the historian talking with her wouldn't have talked so much.

Attended a few screenings at the Michigan Theater for the 2013 Cinetopia International Film Festival and am quite happy that I got a first-time membership! I look forward to their $7@midnight screenings and Sunday matinees of classics. The staff really love cinema and really love putting on shows for their viewers. The Michigan Theater has helped me to feel at home at Ann Arbor during my first week.

Beautifully preserved and restored theater from the golden age of cinema, complete with its own organ, Michigan Theater is as much a community hub as it is an independent movie house. It is home to the free Penny Stamps Lecture Series during the Fall and Winter Terms, and the famous Ann Arbor Film Festival in the Spring. In addition to quality adult movies nightly, it has also served as the site of the Community High commencement ceremony, and as venue for many smaller rock concerts and University Musical Society events. They also have the best movie popcorn in Ann Arbor, and a refreshment stand featuring bear and wine. The Michigan Theater is an Ann Arbor institution!

Recently modeled theater is larger with more screens, more seats and upstairs floor with escalator added. It's full of art deco touches (as before), but very modern and updated with amenities to help make your movie-going experience memorable.

What a wonderful time in a local theatre. From web purchase, to concession service that was fun and friendly to a cool organ prelude. So fun. Will be back. Thanks for your passion for a classic theatre experience.

Went to see Charlotte's Web for a preschool field trip. The ushers were very well organized and got us to our seats with our school quickly. The organist was outstanding! The kids had fun dancing to his music until the show started. The play was great. The actors were very engaging and the kids really enjoyed the show. The theater is beautiful and well maintained. Very clean and brings you back to "the old days" - a great theater experience!

One of my favorite theaters to catch a variety of movies. Seating can be cramped depending on what theater you're in.

Great location, close to parking. Floor is sloped so not a bad seat in the house.
