This is a super cool, ornate, vintage space. The first time you go, you may want to sit on the second level, just to experience it, but after a few times, you will probably want to sit a bit closer to the screen/stage on the main level, which feels equally as cool. Be sure to show up a few minutes early too, there is usually an organ performance before the show starts.

The Michigan Theatre is probably the most amazing theatre to watch a movie in. I ve also seen concerts there and the acoustics are amazing. If you do one thing in Ann Arbor while being here, check out this theatre. It won t disappoint.

Incredible! What an amazing space...saw Amos Lee here which was just spectacular! He was great! The venue was great! The staff was great! Parking is close and a walk around downtown after the show was great too. The sound was much better than I thought it might be as well for the age of the building.

Watching King Lear live from National Theatre, London was a feast ...hope they can work on the seats that are quite low and on the refreshments counter...was literally served the leftover popcorn with kernels

The Michigan Theater is a wonderful place and a historic gem in the heart of Ann Arbor. The architecture is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and they do a great mix of indie and mainstream movies and events. I love that they play It s a Wonderful Life every December for free, and it s a lot of fun to catch the organ music. This is my favorite theater hands down! My only con is that the seats are small and kind of uncomfortable, but that adds to the historic charm.

Great theater I go here mainly for concerts!! The last few shows I attended were great. The staff is always very kind. I love that people don't smoke in the theater and that it is easy to go outside and smoke. Always a good experience. PEACE

Only been to theater 1. It's a classic theater (not movie theater) seating (low, deep, and wide, looking up to a stage with a screen). Plays indies or smaller releases earlier or more often than other theaters. Screen and sound are fine but not emersive given the layout. Nice options to have given the movies it shows, wouldn't pick it over a more modern theater if both were showing the same film.

I go here every Thursday during the school year for the art school's lectures and I love this venue. It has a lot of seating but isn't too big. Some events are free, and tickets are usually around $9, I think. The concessions aren't too expensive. And it's located down town, where there are plenty of places to go to eat after the event you attend.

Michigan Theater is gorgeous. I wish the prices were a bit cheaper so I could go more often, but when I do go, I never regret it. There's nothing quite like listening to the live organist serenade the audience as a prelude to a Marx Brothers movie.

A WONDERFUL evening out with my wife, as we saw a GREAT movie, "RBG"! The movie was shown in an intimate theater("Annex?") and the seats were fine, sound at a comfortable level and not over air- conditioned. This theater is a classic place, near the campus and many fine restaurants and coffee shops. All in all, a fun "vibe" permeated the entire time and experience.

A rare gem, this old theater hosts one of the few remaining vintage pipe organs and offers a unique experience to movie lovers like myself. The film series are amazing. They also host live shows and concerts.

This is a great looking theater and indeed it's like stepping back in time when entering.

We had seats on the balcony and my seat specifically was narrow and had little leg room (the seats next to me were way more comfortable, I found out after the show). The airconditioning (if available) was underperforming.

It's a beautiful theater, but not one I would want to spend 3 hours in again.

It's cute and very old school. They do a great job with the atmosphere. Heads up; if you want to buy a drink you have to also buy this theater club card or something. It's like 5$. No idea why, kinda annoying but it is what it is. Don't lose it because they keep no electronic record of it.

Beautiful theater! I just went there for the first time a few weeks ago to see Colossal and fell in love with the place! Reminiscent of the old school theater experience with reasonable prices. I have intentions of frequenting this establishment as much as possible in the future.

It is beautiful, the people are very nice. They tend to do a lot of programming with more unique groups like the UM Japanese Society or They Might Be Giants. They also have an organist play 30 minutes before every movie.

This is a beautiful old theater. The seating is outdated compared to modern theaters and there are no cup holders, but this doesn't stop me from enjoying my time there. It's just a completely different experience from a modern movie theater, complete with showings of films that you wouldn't find elsewhere.

Excellent lineup of movies! This week highly recommend you see 'On the Basis of Sex"!!! Much respect to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg after watching her story and what she's accomplished so far for women in America.

Best theatre I've ever been to, there's an organ that usually plays before each film. I also prefer the balcony seating as it gives me a different feeling than looking up at a screen from the floor.

Saw Jaws there. Not too bad but it was more expensive them I thought. Also not as classy as I heard it was. Nice Organ before the movie and introduction to this Movie series by a Rep. of the Theatre. I won't go outta my way to go (it was a 45 minute drive). Actually I have more fun at my normal theater. Not bad but not too special.

Beautiful inside and out. We were here for a Jane Fulton Suri presentation and couldn't stop gazing around at the architecture. This pianist (pictured) elegantly entertained us until the presenter came onstage.
