Amazing staff and truly a great place to help the community!
If they feel like it theyl tell u they ran out of food ..... ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE ESPECIALLY DURING A PANDEMIC
Homeless shelter &
rehabilitation program. Intakes Mondays at 6 AM. Free meals daily at 4:30 PM and showers with clean clothes 3 times a week, I am not sure of this, I believe the showers are: Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 4. Good, clean, safe place to rest your head in desperate times.
It helped me get my life together they helped me to know God and have a relationship with him
Very good service the staff is great love working with them
I have been buying there for 26 years the guys used to be great and recently there is a Peruvian man outside in the back that is absolutely arrogant can't help you to save his life I went to buy something and he would not show it to me because it was drizzling and he did not want to get wet. I had to take a picture and show it to him and I had to do the same for other customers.
today when I - ( A girl short skinny and yes strong. )went to pick up my table None of the guys were willing to help me pick up a very large long heavy wooden table I did it all by myself from the back all the way to the entrance picking up and dragging the table from different places. finally but not until the end to the super nice guys help me out a bunch of guys working I thing like little girls it's quite a shame And to think that they don't realize that because we are purchasing there there is helping and benefiting them
Been volunteering here for the last 13 years... its not paradise but it is an oasis... I spend the time to get to know myself better by being around my brothers and sisters and sharing time with them, listening to their stories and putting my own worries to bay
Horrible ! Horrible ! Run away : I had scheduled a pick up of a used but decent sofa - drivers REFUSED to pick it up . I thought these items would help people in need . I doubt About this mission when I see they refused such item. Sofa was in a decent shape , no stain, no dirt. I will never call them again . Pick another donation location !
Due to the Covid-19 event, several programs are available: from "Work Prog. to Rejuvenation Programs. One things' for certain; they feed you like a racehorse . . ;'-)
I was able to stay there 5 months, I never had problems with the guys in the dorm and they had lockers so I could leave my stuff locked up.
Over all, pretty secure neighborhood at the time, considering what it is.
Very nice place. It is a great bless for our community
Very clean very structured they help a lot of people out help you with housing jobs and if needed mental and physical I recommend this place to anyone that needs help and wants help
Was introduced to this place by my boss - With A few coworkers we decided to help out for Thanksgiving.... surprisingly.... the World is very small... I encountered a High School Friend!!!! We had not seen each other in over a decade. It was awesome helping out, and reconnecting with an old friend.
One of the worst experiences I've ever had, hands down:
I emailed Daisy (a senior Manager) that I would like to donate all of our office furniture. All six desks and a conference room table were in excellent condition. After providing pictures she agreed to take them all and sent us a Truck. Unfortunately the main dispatcher Richard is not capable of scheduling a pickup within a week, but told me that he would call me back. That never happened. After multiple calls to Daisy, I was told that pickup will be done by Monday. Here again, no phone calls, no pickup. Then I was told the truck will be there on Tuesday. Finally the truck showed up and the driver told me he would only take 4 desks. Again after many calls the dispatcher Richard told me he never agreed to take all desks (even though his manager did). Now I'm sitting here with the remaining desks, running out of time to have them removed by any other company as our lease ends by the end of the month.
Do yourself a favor and donate to any other Charity except Miami Rescue.
I have been donating for years here in Miami, but have never been treated with so little respect for donating thousands of dollars in furniture.
please be careful. there is a lady thats working with one of the young guys who serve the food TO PUT THINGS IN SOME OFTHE FOOD. THINGS SUCH AS SPIT OR OTHER UNKNOWN POISING MATERIAL.. HER CAR IS THE (BLACK JEEP)....THAT PARK INSIDE THE SAME PARKING LOT WHERE THE FOOD IS BEING SERVED.....SHE DRIVES A BLACK JEEP. 4X4 TYPE LOOKING BE AWARE OF HER. AND TELL THE YOUNG GUYS THEY COULD BE FACING ....PRISION.....TELL THEM DONT DO IT EVEN FOR MONEY.
The Miami Rescue Mission has helped to change my life and give me the tools I need to build a better future for myself I am so grateful for a place such as this
Great place for people that are in between housing the staff needs a little work
Cons:1.Hear say the men food always taste better than the womens food.
2.Foodstamps are taken from you as well as W.I.C at the women's center.
3.Food for the women constantly will get you sick.
4.Unorganized for the women.
5. I didn't completely receive everything I was told I would get.
6.Took cold showers majority of the time. 7.Certain staff treated us as of you were a step child and you better appreciate the disgusting and unbearable for site food.
8. You have to give up access to your personal cellphone unless you are leaving the building. This is when ask for your phone.
Pros: 1. I received a early head start program for my baby to attend daycare.
2. Great case managers
3. Great events for the kids
4. Bible studies are awesome
I was discharged from the program for a fight that didnt start "but I pick up a milk crate which was a weapon". I pray to God they get it together because it can be a really nice program to be in. Its just you build a relationship with these people and when their stressed everyone feels it. It was uncomfortable to feel that way in the process of trying to get somewhere better for yourself. I thank God for the experience.
If you're on the street and you need a place to sleep this is the place to go they gave me a bite to eat and it's already for the nice day and try to get you on your feet
Good thrift shop the things were cheap but everything was filthy.
A wonderful place that reaches out to help others to become self sufficient. God bless them for the labor they do there.
In addition to providing a few months of temporary housing when you when you follow their rules, the mission offers showers and meals to those who live on the streets. All the staff there have risen up from within, so they know all the cons and the games played by the newbies, from lies of omission to twisting stories.
The Miami Rescue Mission is apparently a necessary evil, because the MIAMI POLICE do not address the issue of the mentally damaged who should be locked up in a psychiatric facility, but instead are "flying under the radar"and think it is "normal" to live on the streets. These homeless people are AT RISK TO HARM THEMSELVES because of their unawareness (or NOT BEING CAPABLE) of what it takes to conform to mainstream society. The mission does its best to offer respite from the streets, yet there are many who cannot conform to the regulations and stick to the programs offered.
It is heartbreaking to see so many people sleeping outside the homeless shelter. I don't know anything about this place personally but from what I saw tonight, I wish they were able to do more.
My group met with them last week to discuss our Annual Turkey Ride & Drive. Words would fall short on how impressive and how well run this organization is. Look forward to working with you.
It is a refuge for those who have no home, they are given where to sleep hot food and above all, love
The place you need to go when you want to be a blessing to those that are in need. We are the salt of the world
I would like to say what they say on there website is very fake. I have never seen a shelter that will just throw away somebody's personal stuff and then lie about it all. So if you ever get to where that you are homeless and don't have a place to sleep don't go here is because they will force you into there program and keep you from your spouse. They also give you only one meal a day and make you stay on the street.
The clients that fill the staff positions are so friendly I went today to register for the back to school bash there was a line but it was organized and they gave us water while we waited everyone was given a ticket and registration was easy I'll be back july 27 to enjoy the back to school bash free bookbag and school supplies food box and food and fun thank you miami rescue mission you fellas are definitely doing God's work giving back that was freely given to you
The best school hands down there is no other private school that tops them
I am truly grateful for the amazing people that work here. I needed something for my son and I started emailing every agency, nonprofit organization and companies and people that I thought could help. Then I get an email saying we have ordered your request you can pick it up tomorrow. Mind you I had never been to the Miami rescue mission or spoken to anyone or have no kind of connection to them and the way they were able to so fast and willingly help us just warmed my heart. Thank you to all at the Miami Rescue Mission!! God bless!!
Super friendly staff, they all truly have genuine hearts and put in a lot hard work to help those in need! Great place to volunteer at if you want an unforgettable experience (referring to the Wynwood location)
The woman who answers the phone Maria Chavez, with his bad attitude makes the whole institution look bad.
Always a blessing to volunteer here, where lives are being transformed in Miami, FL.
One thing is goods and other very different..Service to people in need
Praise before eating in the form of uplifting music when When your day has been blah all you need is good. Not to mention the food tastes like right out your Mama's kitchen . You can tell there is love in here!
Excellent place give host bed and hot meal service exesional
Says it's 24 hr went there at 3am had no where else to go told me I had to wait until Monday to get in and it's Thursday false advertising
Deacon Boykins comes every first Sunday of every month to conduct praise and worship service from 7pm-8pm. And preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was once a resident here now he has returned to give back from what he has learned from the Miami Rescue Mission. To encourage the men here not to ever give up on life. Please pray this pray. Dear heavenly Father I believe in your son and I confess that he is Lord please forgive me of all my sins and come into my heart. Please write my name in the Lamb book of Life, In his precious name I pray.Amen
I visited this center twice as a volunteer with 5 friends. We served them food and saw that they are doing a good job. They are providing food, training and spiritual help to guide them through the righteous path for God s name sake.
Because of they feed the homeless...or those in need of food
I Love the Ministry and time I had to write music and pray.
Very clean very structured they help a lot of people out help you with housing jobs and if needed mental and physical I recommend this place to anyone that needs help and wants help

Excellent Place For People With Housing Problems, Or For Homeless People. If you have any problems like this. This Is Your Place And Resign Donations.
Went to a boiler room set here and thr venue was really great.
Great place to serve the homeless of Miami. Truly a humbling experience.
They help the less fortunate get back on their feet
I had the opportunity to make a difference. A fresh start.
I really REALLY didn t want to believe some of the reviews about furniture pick-up but it unfortunately became true for me. I had called and scheduled a pick-up a week in advance. Was called and talked with Juan who was very nice. A day before the scheduled pick-up I called again confirming that they would come tomorrow (my anxiety about reviews was starting) Juan was very nice again and confirmed pick up. I want to mention there was never a time confirmed at this point. The day comes and I hadn t gotten any phone call. I decided to call at 12 and see roughly when they were coming. Once again Juan was nice and told me between 2-4pm. I get no call, no mention from my condo management that a truck had come in, nothing! At 3:45 I call, I felt very annoying but I was desperate. NO RESPONSE. I say you know what, maybe they re running late or on the other line. I call about 2 more times and nothing. They never showed up, not returned my calls :-/ I was donating a couch, rug and bed.
Really disappointed by the service. I donated the first time some months ago, and everything was perfect! So I decided to donate again, but this time I was scheduled for a day and nobody showed up, and nobody didn t even call me to tell me what happened. Today I called and the person who picked up the phone was rude and annoying. I don t think I ll donate here again.
Explained to them my case and told m I needed to make an interview knowing that I had no place to sleep with my 6 years old child. I am right now in a trai rail looking for a place to stay
stars for the kids. Keep them busy and off the street, way to go MRM!
it's sad how the staff treat the black people who come here. the staff that once were homeless haven't got a clue
Absolute best shelter. More cities should be encouraged to follow rescue mission example. Mr. &Mrs. Brummit are A1 administrators. This place saved me from doom.
I was told a friend was there living there. Turned out to be incorrect.
Clean school, decent gym, very nice and welcoming staff working the building.
