A Hawaiian oyster ($ 12) with a chiave-flavored aroma and eaten with a vinegar chopped with black pepper and onions.
The Naha Damian nuts mahi mahi is delicious.

Great time with friends
Happy hour!
Mediocre food and service. Waiters could have been more attentive and food more tasty. It s totally not worth the price. I really don t understand the high ratings. Not coming back.
Met old and new friends for a delightful lunch. Service was excellent, food was fantastic and the ambiance had a vibe of: clean, big, modern-urban without a clinic like atmosphere most modurban eateries have. Kudos to the restaurant staff and designers.
Fabulous, friendly "on-it" staff! Ono, unique food. Live music. We had an outstanding evening.
Restaurant is new. Service was slow. Merriman s without ceviche seems wrong.
Bar selections needs a lot of work. Bar lady was super.
$26 dollars for hamber and fries does not work for me.
Too many mistakes at Merriman's
1. Here in Dec. 2018 for a company holiday dinner, ordered the Beet and Fennel Salad along with 3 other items, the salad was never served.
2. Returned for dinner Nov. 24, 2019, was seated, and almost immediately the server for the neighboring table bumped my head in passing, he did not apologize.
6. The glasses of cabernet were pretty good.
7. Merriman's was on a list of possibilities for my company's holiday dinner 2019, and I successfully eliminated this choice from the list.
...service is as usual, kind & friendly, however the food is on a steep decline, here in Kamuela
Great food and awesome service. The lunch menu has really good options and priced perfectly, under $20 for entrees. Definitely be back. Maybe try happy hour next time
Flawless restaurant experience. Hostess was spot on helping set up a 7 person reservation on a Saturday night and we were promptly seated at our reservation time.
Server was extremely professional and attentive. Not only was the dining experience easy and pleasant, but the very attentive - even predictive - service enhanced the meal.
Entrees were all excellent. I would have said the appetizers (poke, garlic shrimp, biscuits) were middling, but I think that's because my amberjack special blew them out of the water. The fish was extremely well butchered and cooked very delicately. I haven't seen a filet produced that cleanly in a long time. Timing on the cook was near perfect, only about 10 seconds too long.
Interior was very nice as well. Spacious, impressively appointed, and the high powered AC was a treat from the Hawaii heat and humidity.
100% will return on my next trip back to Oahu.
We arrived at Merriman s 20 minutes before our reservation, and not only did they check us in early, but we were able to get signature cocktails at the bar while we waited. The hostess was incredibly nice.
The food was delicious. We had the party chow appetizer and got the lamb and fish of the day as main courses. All of it was incredible.
There was live music and the atmosphere was great. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back!
Love Merriman's! Dinner is superb and happy hour is really fun. The ceviche is a must have during happy hour, it's served in a coconut sauce with avocado, lime, and taro chips. Mmmmmm
Delicious food and service was surprisingly polished for a newly opened restaurant. We tried the Kalua pork quesadilla, filet, and the truffle pasta, all of which were outstanding!
Came here for lunch with coworkers. The fritters were really good. Also really enjoyed the fish and chips. Service was good. Would recommend.
This was by far the greatest random restaurant stop I could have possibly run into in the city. My husband had one of our twin boys and they were dropping off furniture from Pier 1. Parker and I were starving!! The oysters on the half shell served in a "smoked" covered dish were a game changer. I could eat that every day!!
Excellent food, excellent service. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. The French press Kona was a perfect cap to a perfect dinner
This is a difficult review for me to write because parts of the meal were excellent and parts were not so good. That being said, I suggest you carefully read all the other reviews below and make your selections among 'tried and true' menu items.
Among the 'tried and true' that we found excellent, the Caesar Salad (nice dressing!), the hamburger (moist and flavorful) and the Cavatelli Pasta (unique sauce and nicely prepared pasta),
Among the 'not so good' were the smashed potatoes. (The strong taste of the skins overwhelmed the dish and the promised truffle oil topping was no where to be found, either in aroma or taste. We left 3/4 of the plate behind.) The worst part of the meal was the Bloody Mary. (It was so over-seasoned and hot that I could feel my stomach burning after the first few sips. I like hot food, but this drink was not consumable.)
The service in the restaurant was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable.
When I saw my order salmon, l was astonished. The fish was tiny and drier which was overcooked and less tender. Compared to Liliha Bakery, it's not worth.
New restaurant, food only OK. Simple menu., Hope quality will improve.
First off what a great new addition to the Kakaako district. I recently had meet a few friends for drinks at Merrimans and let me tell you this place is spot on. From the smoked oysters to the wonderful wine list, this new restaurant has got me hooked! The staff is very attentive among many other qualities that are unheard of in a new restaurant setting. Dusty, Jacob and Nick go above and beyond to make sure your dining experience is worthy of coming back. I am looking forward to many dinners here in the near future. Thank you
Came to Merriman's for dinner and gotta say, had an excellent time. From the live piano playing to a welcome glass of sparkling wine was a nice touch. The food I had was excellent from the tako, steak and chicken.
Excellent place for lunch with friendly and knowledgeable staff and great interior.
Came here for a late lunch at happy hour and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff. The ceviche was excellent and very very tasty. The burger that followed was equally excellent and tasty and even the side of kimchi was wonderful. Certainly a worth a recommendation and your visit!
To Merriman s Honolulu, a high-class restaurant in the ward, where redevelopment is accelerating in Hawaii.
Located diagonally across from Whole Foods, in an easy-to-understand location. It is a fashionable restaurant that must be reserved at night.
However, it was a little empty at noon and I was able to enter without a reservation.
We used only dessert menu.
Order coffee.
I came with a French press.
Moreover, it is a big pot of Le Cruze. This is a good deal because two people can share and drink 4 cups.
The coffee is RED CATUAI .
"Flowerless chocolate cake" $ 11
Since it was a birthday, I came with a candle and a message. I'm happy that Saab s brother is celebrated as a Happy Birthday!
Family is "Wailua Chocolate Bag" $ 11
It is a novel dessert that you can eat with the vanilla ice cream of Toro Toro wrapped in spring rolls. You can put the remaining coffee in a take-out cup and TO GO. The cup is also cute.
Go see Jeff Peterson play slack key guitar on mondays. Super talented musician! Food is always fantastic staff is top notch!
The food, the atmosphere and the service were great!
This looked like fun. It's like a bbq on the sidewalk, so super convenient. The staff was friendly. However, the homemade chips were burnt. Then I bit into the burger and the meat tasted gamey. I ate the burned chips, but the burger was too nauseating to eat.
