Mercy San Juan ICU murdered

Mercy San Juan ICU murdered
Lakisha Ross,my Mother June 12-14,2020.
She came in to have surgery on her leg, the surgery went fine, although they couldn t sedate her. She came out of surgery perfectly fine, but a doctor and a couple of nurses (without informing her family & without her consent)Injected lethal doses of drugs into her IV. She was forced unconscious and in an ATTEMPT to bring her back, doctors ordered she be put on a ventilator.
She died after being tortured to death the morning of June 14th,2020. (I could get into sickening details of the events there of, but it pains my heart too much.) She didn t deserve this . 11/13/1976-06/14/2020

This review is confined to the ICU of Mercy San Juan. For context, nothing about my experience was joyful; my mother died here, from a sudden and severe illness. That said, the staff were phenomenal. Every single one of them: The chaplain who made a point of checking up on us, the doctor who carefully explained exactly what happened, the nurses who were nothing if not caring and compassionate, everyone was great. Even the bill that came was well below expectations. I hope everyone my family interacted with continues to practice their superb people skills.

The Dr. Taylor Nichols said in an interview that he has issues treating people he doesn't like. I would think an ER physician should treat whatever patient comes in regardless of what they think of that person. I would NEVER go to ER here. Find another place.

My father an elder went in yesterday at 4pm due to repeatedly falling and not being able to walk. Was left in the lobby from 4pm until after 3am. He could not eat nor go to the bathroom due to not being able to walk. Your staff just left him in a wheelchair for over almost 10hrs. Where is this humane how do you treat elders with such poor service. Im seriously disappointed with your lack of regard of my father.

Emergency rooms are obviously never fun and some waiting is to be expected, but the staff working in the ER here are fantastic, friendly, and seem to be very skilled and capable. I went in with severe chest pain and was helped as quickly as I could hope for, all the care and information I received was great, and my doctor seemed so confident in his diagnosis that it helped to put me at ease. Oh, and my chest is now fine so I'm not dying which is pretty great. Thanks Mercy!

The wait was only about 10-15 minutes from the moment I walked in, to the end of triage assessment. Maybe 20-30 till I was seen by a doctor. In all the trip took less than two hours. The nurses were kind, helpful, empathetic, AND... funny! Some lighthearted humor goes a long way in these situations. Hands down the fastest and best ER trip ever. (I've had a few).

Bad capacity/time management. Been here a few times but the last time I didn t even make it pass the billing register and they didn t run all the tests/labs with me cause my doctor said there was not enough tests done as there should be for what I was dealing with. !!!!ALSO!!!!!, I had a covid test done there. They never called me to give me the results and I was out of work and needed documentation in order to go back to work. After calling and being left on hold(TALKING TO 6 different ppl on the line) They let me know that it was in the front of the lobby but never had anything for me and medical billing department was closed so I ve never gotten it.

As a veteran, and a minority I was treated as a second class citizen. I was in so much pain and on the drugs they put me on, I then was asked to be coherent and act as if there was nothing wrong with me. Very disappointing and mistreated will be heading back to put in a complaint.

If I could I would give them no . I would. My wife had our first child here and for her entire pregnancy the staff and doctors did not care about her high blood pressure until things got worst for her and our baby, then all the staff starting caring. So unprofessional to put my wife and baby life in danger like that. Since we had no other place to go because she was in labor we decided to stay. During labor my wife had a bossy, rude, abnoxious and unprofessional nurse she was so bad to the point were our family and I had to complain to management and ask for someone else to help my wife. We will sure not be coming here ever again. They made our first child experience a living hell.

The young lady in pulmonary testing made the visit very comfortable she has a great attatude and makes a person relax. The whole visit from walking in till testing done was a pleasant experience. But the young lady who did the actual test was so positive in the way she talked about her job and how they treat there people was very pleasant to hear !

I went to the ER because my primary care couldn't see me immediately (a month) for what I thought was a persistent ear infection.

I walked in the ER and was greeted in less than 5 seconds, got my vitals taken and sat down in the waiting area for no more than 5 minutes when they called me to be diagnosed by the ER doctor. And this was on a busy day, I mean this place was packed!

I wish my primary care functioned like this. Last time I went to see my Doc I had an appointment for 3pm and didn't get seen until an hour an a half later.

The nursing staff was welcoming and had great manners, and the doctors were knowledgeable and had great suggestions on how to take care of my ailments.

If this was a food place I would go back weekly.

Horrible!!! My dad went in with an ambulance cause he has close to having a stroke and they took his vitals then put him to wait in the beyond full ER. They wanted him with an almost unconscious state to fill out paper work. Staff was extremely rude and demanding for no reason. I have seen better health care in prisons then I saw here and with all the private security you feel like you are in prison. This is not a hospital but rather a death lounge where you literally wait to die. Horrible!!!!

If you like to go to dirty hospitals, this is the place. The floors are filthy, the walls are filthy, the equipment is too. Staff is cool from what I've experienced, but overall this is a dirty hospital. Clean the place up. It's a HOSPITAL.

They took this hospital and expanded it in every direction, to have an abundance of empty unused space on every floor, then didn't do anything to accommodate for parking, or extra staffing..better then UCD. But not much more.

My mother went to the ER twice in a week because she was having stomach and chest pain. None of the doctors were able to diagnose her problem but when we went to Sutter, they were able to point out that she needed a hernia surgery ASAP. My mother had to suffer greatly because the ER doctors were either lazy or just trying to collect paychecks without doing a proper job. I will never admit any of my family members to this place ever again.

Spent 8 hours here on a Sunday and were told my husband's arm wasn't broken after a fall off a ladder. They put a splint on it and sent us home. He was in a lot of pain so the next morning we saw our own doctor. HIS ARM WAS BROKEN! So bad they almost rushed him to surgery. They still billed our insurance. HORRIBLE place! (about 2 years ago)

I went for an allergy checkup. I am satisfied with the service that I got, BUT:

About 4 weeks later I got a call from the hospital threatening me that if I don`t pay the copay fee, my credit will go down etc etc. I was super surprised. It turned out that they could not pull money from the health savings account. I was treated like a criminal, the conversation got the point that I told the person: " Look, I will check, I don`t know why you don`t see the payment, but if you want you can call the police on me if you think I am a criminal "

I had a family member in the Hospital, I live 3000 miles away in Florida. I was given all the information I needed to gain accesses to my family member as I am the Healthcare designate. My experience was traumatic. I was put on hold for up to 20 minutes after being transferred 4 times without ever finding my brother. I ultimately ended up contacting a family member for information. I even asked for a administrator and was put off. Abysmal!!

I came into to the full waiting room and was seen by a doctor and nurse very quickly. It was then explained to me that I was stable, and would be asked to wait in the lobby for all my results to come back, and then they would pull me back to a treatment room and probably sent home. I waited about 20 minutes. The results of my head ct showed I had a brain bleed. I was placed into a "fast" room where they put an IV into me. The nurses were so sorry they didn't have space for me to wait for my admit room and asked me to wait into the lobby. They took time to make sure my pain was getting better, and offered my wife water and a blanket. It took about three hours and the checked on me a few times. A lot of the other people waiting were very rude and upset. One lady was mad because the ER didn't have her babies special formula brand. She kept interrupting the very busy nurse who brought out and offered every type of formula they had. She also offered her own cell phone so the lady could call to have someone bring the special food. The lady just kept yelling at her. People have to understand how to be kine, especially when expecting the best care. I was treated Very well in the ER. The trauma icu was not as friendly OR busy as the ER nurses.

My experience was excellent, I was happy, impressed, fast action on my reason to be there, I was fixed up and out the door within 1 hour and 45 minutes or maybe less, at first I was really scared with all the sick people where I had a broken arm, I am a caregiver and can't be exposed, I take care of older women, but then I did got tested a few days later, negative yeah, all is good, great, I did tell them about my situation, I wore a mask, sat away from the people, I would go again if necessary.

Friendly staff. Easy check-in process. Wonderful, caring nurses.
I have had two outpatient surgeries and two drive- thru COVID-19 tests there and all experiences were positive. I must also mention that the Dignity billing system is horrible!! I was overcharged $414 for a surgery in November and I'm having a hard time getting them to respond or refund.

The service is worst . My Brother in law was admitted into this hospital and has to undergo certain procedures. For that they kept him fasting for entire day and at end of the day they simply say we will be doing the procedure tomorrow. they have done this continuously for three days . If someone is looking for suggestions about this hospital. I would say prefer different hospital . Logistics and operations have to take care by management.Worst service ever saw in my life.

Came here last night to the ER. I saw quite a few people in the waiting room and so I asked the RN nurse how long the wait time is otherwise I would try another hospital. She said it would only be about 15 minutes but I ended up waiting for about 3 hours... If I had known it would be this long, I would have driven to Davis or a small town hospital because usually those ERs are quick with no wait times in the middle of the night. It would've been worth the 20 min drive to not wait 3 hours... Don't lie to patients just for business! On top of that, their women's restroom was filthy with blood all over the floor. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while with paper towels piled high and pee on the floor. The only good thing about this place were the 3 RN nurses in the RME room were really nice.

My mom had a stroke and we had taken her to another hospital that had told us she wasn't going to make it and they would keep her comfortable. We had her transferred here 2 weeks ago and she is now able to talk to us (even though she doesn't remember much, she can still communicate and we can't visit her due to coVid, so talking on the phone is our only communication.. the nurses are nice enough to answer the phone for her as well as hold phone for her) She will be getting transferred to rehab/physical therapy any day now to recover. Thank you for taking care of my mom!!

Worst hospital ever. Do not take loved ones here.

Their broken bureaucracy killed my mother through inaction and chaos. No follow up. No case manager. Every individual person gets each part wrong and you have to figure it out on your own.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I came into Mercy San Juan with chest pains. I was processed quickly and throughly in the system. So far so great! I was run through a myriad of tests and was treated excellent. I was shipped up to the heart center for observation and an overnight stay but after all tests came back fine they asked if I wanted to stay the night or go home.... I took option b and went home. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors! My only observation is that some patients looked like they didn't need hospital care just a med clinic...but I'm no Doctor. Also...homeless people who were there were very disruptive and disrespectful to all. Mercy did what they could to help these folks but wow....yhe staff are Angel's of mercy.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE the nurses, RTs, doctors and support staff in the NICU at Mercy. My twin 24-weekers would not be alive today if it they weren't lucky enough to be in these dedicated and amazing people's care. I highly recommend this NICU (having experienced 2 other ones).

My dad was a visitor to the ER late in his life. They were kind and professional.
If you need to go to ER it's best to arrive by ambulance or expect to wait. If you can walk in to the ER, you can wait. People getting so upset here about the ER waiting room when most people there are could easily go to a 24 hour clinic or their own doctor.
