I work in the area so am always keen to try new places for lunch whenever they open. I heard about it from some colleagues and it sounded great. Who doesn't love melted cheese? Such a shame that the melt hardly had any cheese it it. It was basically just two pieces of dry toast. Not exactly a filling lunch. I won't be going back.

Pretty yummy if you're into cheese toasties! The creamy cheddar on their cheesy fries aren't quite for me though, so beware if you're expecting more of a stringy melted cheese experience for your fries

After waiting for a fair amount of time, not only was i given the wrong order it was also stone cold. Only to realise the error until I got back to the office it was quite the disappointing trip. I assume I was given an order that was returned only moments earlier from another customer who had gotten the wrong order. I had high hopes for you Melt Room, but you crushed my expectations with cold pastrami and mushrooms.

Lovely little stop off for a toasted cheesy snack, with a variety of fillings to suit any cheese lover or if you're looking for something a little sweeter, try the mascapone and nutella toastie. The latter was delicious, served on fresh milk bread with lashings of cheese and priced very reasonably as well. Great place to refuel and escape the hustle and bustle of Oxford Circus.

What can you say badly about somewhere that allows you to eat your body weight in cheese!? Unfortunately the rainbow cheese toasties do taste a bit chemically (i assume from the food colouring), but otherwise it's great

I had the classic with onions and there was no taste. It looks better than it tasted. They need to either have stronger tasting cheese or add some salt and pepper. Its not that difficult making a cheese toastie.

This is a great little grilled cheese place in the heart of Soho. I've been here a fair few times now, popping in for lunch when I'm in town, and there's a good range of sandwiches. While they may not be the world's best sandwiches (and I wouldn't bother with any of the dessert ones), they're quick, tasty and filling which is sometimes just what you need. Spacing is a little limited, but people are in and out pretty quickly if you don't mind waiting a few minutes.

Really great but the soup has gone downhill, used to be amazing thick soup that was great for dipping the toastie in! But now it's like a watery cup of soup with dried basil in. Disappointed

Been here a couple times, food is okay for what it is, the staff are nice, walked passed the shop at night once and saw a mouse inside so that's pretty much put me off going forever but i guess thats expected in central london.

I work nearby and sometimes all you need is a good grilled cheese! I've been here a few times as the sandwiches never disappoint... however the service is always terrible. I work in the same industry serving customers and I always like to think I give good service so I expect at least basic manners. This is the 4th time I've been here and this time didn't even get eye contact let alone a 'hello'. 1 out of 4 is not a good ratio when it comes to customer service! I would probably come here more often if the service was better.... disappointing..

Interesting selection of grilled cheeses however some combinations clearly do not work e.g. fish and chips or Mac and cheese - particularly if the cheese is hardly noticeable in the mac and cheese. The place is clean and quiet on a Friday evening and you are promised a free melt if you can convince staff to snap a Polaroid of yourself and you manage to spot yourself on the wall the next time around .

I decided to come and check out the classic grilled cheese melt on the hottest day of the year so far! With a side of pickles and of course ketchup. Grilled cheese is a guilty pleasure and this did not disappoint. Lovely buttery crunchy sour dough bread (I added onion) and an oozy tri blend of cheese, toys didn't disappoint. Great for lunch away from hustle and bustle of Soho (Tottenham Court Road end) I'll be back.

Nice selection of staple offerings, complimented well with a specials and sweet selection. Could be more adventurous with bread selection and fillings. What they do offer is good but safe bets... also need a little bit more cheese for me, but that might be overkill for overs.

I have loved grilled cheeses for many years. This love was only cemented by a restaurant in Toronto that was dedicated to the humble sandwich and was the best I had ever had. Ever since then I have hoped that someone would show this sandwich the respect it deserves by dedicating an establishment in London just to its gooey deliciousness and finally there is one! But is it any good? Ehhhh. It's okay! It's a small place with room enough only to sit ten inside. It's clean and it's very bright inside and there is a nice atmoshphere in there despite its small size. But what about the melts? They have quite a few to choose from, ranging from lamb to bbq chicken, pulled pork and even dessert melts with nutella. I opted for the salami cheese melt as with porcini mushrooms and red leicester cheese it seemed like a taste sensation! The staff there are really nice but getting your sandwich can take a little while so don't expect to be in and out. Give it a chance! As a new business they might just need some time to work the kinks out and while the portion isn't plentiful it is tasty.

Near perfect grilled cheese and delicious (Heinz) tomato soup. Make sure you look out for seasonal combo deals to bring down the price. Mac n Cheese is also on offer and some desserts like banoffee pie. The staff aren't amazing but it doesn't really matter.

Very Disappointed -- had the 3 bean tuns and mac and cheese - terrible. You would think that for a place that just focuses on one thing they would really blow your socks off... Not at all. Waste of money.

Was looking forward to this place, but sadly it didn t live up to the hype. Tried the portobello mushroom melt, and it wasn t anything special, and tasted a little bland and flat. Too much bread and too little cheese. Having tried so many grilled cheese toasties across the city, this one was felt really average.

These are literally toasted sandwiches. If you aren t 4/5th s retarded you can make your own. In fact, message me, I ll make one for you and only charge 3.5 quid. Or even better I ll buy you a loaf of bread, butter and cheese and you ll get about 15 toasties

At best, the melts are below average. There was not enough filling or seasoning in any of them. There are much better places to eat in Soho at this price point. 7 pounds for a prefilled sandwich is definitely pushing it. Overall , it was a disappointing experience. I think 2 stars is a bit generous but 1 star would be too harsh. 1.5 stars from me.

The idea is good but for me the bread was very soft and didn't feel well grilled and the cheese taste is pretty average. Could barely taste the pulled pork. I think they need to refine it a little, it's pretty close to be good but right now it's just average. The menu selection is good so I'd try them again to see if there's any improvement.

After reading a few positive reviews and seeing the Melt Room highlighted in different London publications, I decided to make a extra long trip today for Lunch...even with the added rain barrier I still persisted...It was definitely worth it!!...Had the BBQ Chicken melt and have to say it was excellent! With lots of toasties the bread is either under or over toasted (bordering on burnt) or there is barely enough cheese to call it one; In the Melt Room they have struck this balance perfectly. Golden crispy sourdough bread, cheese slightly burnt at the sides and oozing out when you take that first bite. A near perfect toasted cheese sandwich!! Atmosphere is bright and friendly when you walk in, greeted by a smile from the staff and the manager handing out the orders instills a positive vibe as he brims with enthusiasm for the task on hand. You made my dreary rainy Friday! Thanks!

Tried this place after walking past thinking what a great idea as I love toasties. Tried a toastie with salami. The bread was toasted well as others have said but overall it was completely forgettable. Ok if needing a quick 5 minute bite at work. I had a subway the night before and honestly it tasted more interesting. It basically is the type of toastie you can pick up at any corner sandwich shop. However it costed 5 pounds with 50p for sitting in. Don't expect a plate or anything for your 50p -you just get to 'enjoy' the toastie from the takeaway bag while sitting in the yellow (cheesey) setting which has as much atmosphere as an ikea showroom. It was clean, maybe because it was also deserted. Staff was friendly. So: okay for an (expensive) quick takeaway lunch. This would work much better (and be cheaper) as a stall or a mobile van.

I stopped by for lunch at this place the other day. It doesn't live up to the hype at all. Very average sandwiches, they were bland and boring. Would not recommend. There are plenty of better places in the area at a similar price.

Delicious grilled cheese sandwiches in the heart of Soho. Lots of fillings to choose from including a delicious classic cheese mix, tangy, stringy and oozing goodness! Other fillings include slow cooked lamb and a New York style pastrami. Even after a busy day, the servers were a delight, walking us through the menu and options! Nom!

This place is good for a quick, standard melt, but don't go here if you're expecting setting special. I was disappointed in the flavors--overall, it was more bland than the mixes made me think, and the cheese was lackluster, too. I could taste the roux in the cheese fries, which was also a letdown. Nice staff, however!

The filling selections was good, although if one doesn't like mustard they need to give up on quite a few otherwise tasty options. I'd like to see more bread selection, the sourdough is ok, but I personally like softer bread for toast. House salad was simple and tasty, the sauces so-so. Otherwise the idea here is great and I hope it stays around!

The grilled cheese is okay, but leaves a lot to be desired. If you want something bland and quick, this is probably the place. Found myself adding sauces all over the place to make it edible.

Cheesy little place, selling toasted cheese sandwiches from a basic cheese only, all the way to the limited editions like the Mexican. Food is okay, nothing to sing or dance about, with average cheese, average bread, average size, and average prices. If they improve their basic bread, and offer cheese varieties (rather than the basic bland) then you'll get my 5 stars!
