I cannot brag enough about Medical City in Mckinney. Everyone there was so professional, starting with Lucas who was there waiting for me and made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. Amy who checked me in was so thorough and helped me understand the process. The ekg lady, smart and sharing, the lady who did my chest xray so sweet and efficent. The surgical team was top rate. ICU nurse Ben. my favorite, loved him. Intelligent Rico who kept everything running smoothly and Bradley who honestly cared. Last but not least, Dr Silver the miracle worker. Dr Silver so intelligent and reassuring. Kudos to the hospital, best ran hospital ever. Topnotch and efficent flow of my stay there is as excellent as it gets. I cannot brag enough about this hospital and the staff. Rest assured that you are in the best hands here!!!

Brought my daughter to the ER. My main complaint was lack of communication, unless I prompted them. I found that especially irritating because while we just sat there, the nurses seemed to just be socializing with each other. I greatly respect our health care workers. They just need to be aware that we are customers, not an inconvenience to their day.

In June of 2014 I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and was given no choice. Next time I will make sure to go to the Allen Hospital. I was not in ICU but in another area where patient are closely monitored. I can't remember the name. Although the staff seemed attentive and were kind when they frequently checked in, my guess is they either didn't check everything each time they visited the room or they didn't know what to check. In the 4 days that I was there I was on a catheter and never soiled the diaper so it was never changed. FOUR DAYS and never changed. I was on morphine so the days all rolled into one another for me but my husband was aware. Finally I went for a CT scan and happened across someone I knew that worked there and begged them to have me changed. The only reason my gown was changed was because my husband helped me.
The bag collecting my urine almost overflowed, literally spilling on the floor when they finally replaced it.
When I was trying to be released from McKinney hospital I needed to use the restroom on my own. They left me alone in a hallway restroom while on morphine. Luckily I made it out of there safely. NEVER AGAIN, even if it is the closest hospital.

The quack back specialist that saw me wanted to do a spinal fusion surgery which is very invasive with a year+ recovery. I ended up having surgery with a 1/2 inch incision and an 8 week recovery at The Methodist Brain and Spine Institute in Dallas. I would give that hospital a 5+++ Almost two years later I am still doing great thanks to going to Dallas for surgery.

The only reason I am giving them a 2 star rating is because the staff was nice. Maybe not trained as well as they should be but they were nice. My experience with the radiology department was awesome from the CT and diaper change to when I picked up my scans to take them to Methodist Hospital in Dallas.

2 stars- one for morning nurse and evening nurse. Thank you for excellent care. Other star for ER- clean.
The rest of the visit- terrible.

Afternoon nurse kept asking us what was happening with case- alarming- I m the patient....why didn t she read record. I wasn t sure what was happening. What tests ordered. No confidence in nurse.

I arrived at 8:30 am. Had no food or water since waking. I wasn t offered food or even water- at 11am I asked for food and water - eventually Mark came with Chick-fil-A sandwich.

In the afternoon, PA came into room- asking me questions regarding GI issues- she had the wrong patient????

I Waited for neurologist consultation- from morning until 10pm - he was a NO SHOW.

My Medical records have been mixed with another patient s records. I can see the patients details and medications given.
I Called ER to advise - No apology- rather I was told to contact medical records- I really think staff should contact and quickly rectify this. GROSS HIPPA VIOLATION

I hope billing will be correct.
I m considering complaining to TDI.

Rx not received by pharmacy-electricity outage. Called ER following day for another Rx and requested return phone call once Rx sent to pharmacy. 24 hours later- No call received No Rx received. I called again was advised Rx sent- I checked with pharmacy no Rx received. One week later no Rx. Don t need Rx now.

All went according to schedule. Everybody was very polite.
I do say, though, if they ask you to come in 30min early for paper work, they require that much time to complete. They give you an iPad to do it all on and it takes time.

It took multiple phone calls, being left on hold for 8 minutes two different times and hung up on by a rude receptionist to finally get an update on my elderly father. I m leaving 3 stars because we have been pleased with this hospital in the past but today was very frustrating. Rude people at every turn.

I've been to this hospital several times in the past year with my grandparents for various issues. The staff has always been super friendly and professional. I really was disappointed this evening with the registration/ information lady. She was smug and it seemed to bother her when she had to show me through the hall to the ER room. Yes, it was twice she had to get up to show me how to get through the hall with all the doors. I think sometimes with these places people forget that their patients/ customers/ clients don't know what they know. maybe you have done it/ said it 1,000 times in a single day, but it is the first time (or 2nd) we have heard it. Again, I love this hospital over any other in the area. I'm just disappointed. When we come into ER concerned for our loved one, we need to see a friendly, compassionate, and patient face.

I just had my second child at Medical Center last week, and I was very impressed with the staff, especially in the labor and delivery. They were quick, efficient, and made me feel as comfortable as possible. My nurse, Sarah, was amazing and was right there when I needed her. The Doctor did a great job during the delivery and she wasn't even my doctor but I really liked her. And after the delivery, all the nurses and lactation specialists were awesome. I really felt like every one cared for me as an individual and not just a patient. Also a week later I received a thank you/ congrats card and everyone that helped me during my stay signed it, which I thought was very nice. I would go here again if we still live here when I have my next child.

If you want your loved one to go uncared for and l...

If you want your loved one to go uncared for and looked over, this is the hospital. The treatment of me and my family at my time here was nothing short of disgusting. The doctors and nurses here are heartless and have no compassion for families who are here to see out their loved ones. The doctor allowed my family 20 close family members to come and offer prayers as they disconnect our grandmother and we all bid farewell to her. As we arrive to the hospital with no more than 14-15 close family members we are met with security who insist all of us to leave after we were specifically told by our doctors we were allowed to bring this amount of family members to the room to see her out. Not only did the hospital not have the communication with their own staff of the policies they had in place, they had the audacity to forcefully move grieving family members from waiting in the hotel lobby after they rejected our family from going up to see my grandmother out. The lack of empathy and care they had shown my family I don t wish any family that is at risk of losing a loved one. One of the mistakes that my family made was to choose to bring my grandmother to the medical center of McKinney, there was an obvious lack of care from the doctors and nurses that my family felt from the beginning of the care at this hospital. Not only did the hospital staff not allow my family to come and see out my grandmother, the staff had called security to force them out, I m honestly at a loss for words at the treatment me and my family received. I will make sure everyone knows the injustice they had done on my family. I could go on and say more about how there was a Caucasian family of the same amount of 12-14 people in the same lobby and were NOT asked to leave, but I felt as a brown family our emotion and sentiment wasn t shared with the hospital so security asked US to leave. I hope the hospital learns some basics of hospitality and no other family has to get treated with the amount of disrespect that we were subjected to.

As a first time mom, I was not sure what to expect from the Labor & Delivery at a hospital but Medical City McKinney made my experience exceptional. I felt prioritized and comfortable. Even with the pandemic and not to mention I was in the hospital during New Years. I appreciate all the nurses and staff. I do highly recommend this hospital.

All the staff including the nurses and doctors were very professional and friendly. Was out of there within 4 1/2 hours feeling much better! I am very thankful that I have an excellent hospital within 4 minutes of my home!

I was taken here March 16th after a devastating car crash. They did nothing but take care of me through it all. I had spleen surgery and following had to have another surgery where they cut open my stomach. The doctor knew my concern and worry for such a large scar and he took his time to give me a plastic surgery stitch. After 10 days I will be going home and there were a few kinks in the process but overall I was very well taken care of and almost all of my nurses cared about me as a human. I can never thank this hospital enough for doing so much for me.
UPDATE: after being readmitted I ve never felt so helpless i had to wait 45 minutes to get assistance to go to the bathroom. Nurses never had time for me and a patient came into my room. This hospital has kept me here longer than I need to be and I feel very manipulated. Very sad with my second experience here.

I have to say, I spent 3 1/2 hours in the emergency department for a possibly strangulated umbilical hernia and my expectations for treatment were beyond exceeded. My doctor, Dr Martens, and my nurse (I forgot his name but he was super awesome) were both extremely attentive, answered all my questions, took my concerns seriously, Dr Martens was able to help my hernia recede into a safe position and I was helped finding a local surgeon to be refered to within my insurance network before I left the building. This was not (as a person with a chronic illness like Crohn's disease, I have had to spend my time in ERs and have had very unfortunate experiences) a visit that consisted of "let's give you some painkillers and get you packing and collect your insurance"; like you would recieve at Baylor Scott and White. No compassion fatigue, a clean hospital, a good natured and *extremely* attentive staff, I have to say, way to go Medical City McKinney. Thank you for your care and service. I hope to not have to use emergency services again, and I appreciate the time taken to find a physician to follow up with my care. If I have ever have another emergency or if any of my family does, this is where I want them to be treated. Thank you for earninf my trust.

Every experience I've had at the ER has been way better than any of the other local ER's. They get you in quick and the nurses and staff are extremely friendly and professional and put you at ease. Most of the doctors are really nice but there are a couple that are a little rude and condescending but nothing too bad, some of them are excellent.

I had my baby here November 30, 2019 via csection. My overall experience with the staff was amazing. Each and every single nurse, doctor, food delivery person that I encountered was courteous, knowledgeable and compassionate. From the time I checked into labor and delivery, into surgery my anesthesiologist was great even though I was having a panic attack (due to my body rejecting the spinal tap, which has happened all 3 of my births). My postpartum nurses took amazing care of me and were always so kind to my partner like bringing him snacks. The nursery nurses made me feel at ease every time they took my son away for tests and a nap here and there. My recovery was slow but the entire staff I encountered was very encouraging and helpful my entire 4 day stay at Medical City McKinney. When we were leaving the manager of labor and delivery personally escorted us to the car with all of our stuff and helped with getting baby situated properly in his car seat. I'm grateful for this hospital put of all 3 of my pregnancies (different hospitals) this hospital stay at McKinney was by far the best.

I delivered my second child in the Labor and Delivery area of this hospital. I was originally scheduled for a noon C-section but little one decided to start early at 3am. So i had to enter through the Emergency Room section who was nice and quickly wheeled me up. My entire stay (3 days) i only encountered one person who wasn't that nice and that was the first nurse when i arrived. But my experience did nothing but get better. The nurses were super nice and attentive. Especially the ones overnight. I have no complaints and the nursery was very timely with bringing my child back for feeding every 2 to 3 hours so i was able to get some sleep.

Based on my experience it was the worse. I was pregnant and going into labor for my 3rd child. My 2nd child I had received epidural and while in labor it didn't hurt during or after the process, but this time it did. My husband and my daughter saw the whole epidural process and they said it was breathtaking and was more scary than the labor itself. I recalled the name of the doctor that gave me my epidural was an Asian women, Dr.Lee. They stated that it took her 5-7 tries just to get the shot to go in the right place. Her hand was shaking the whole time and she even asked the nurses how to use the equipments. While the process I would have to describe the pain as absolutely horrible, my other epidural didn't come nearly as bad. I'm the middle the pain was so bad I thought I was going to die. I told one of the nurses that it was hurting but not the pressure kind which was normal. It was absolutely terrifying for me. The nurses also said that I should not have back pain after I was released it has been 2 and a half months and I still have back pain down my spine and I can't go to work or drive since I could only sit up for about 30 minutes and it starts hurting really bad.

Non-responsive to patient needs! Would not attempt to adjust medication which was making me severely nauseous after knee replacement surgery. I did not eat for three days. The ice machine attached to my leg was not working properly due to the bandage, and they refused to adjust the bandage which was wrapped so tightly it hurt. Even after getting the supervisor nurse involved I got no relief for either problem. The assistants who wheeled me out to the car had no idea how to help me get in without severe pain. The only reason I gave it one star is because the site won't let you rate it that way.

I just delivered at Medical City McKinney this week and can honestly say it was the best hospital experience I've had.

They truly are mother-baby friendly because they offer families the care of two nurses, one for mom and one for baby. Unlike other hospitals I've delivered at, with only one nurse for both mom and baby, this method of care was unique and went above and beyond the norm by providing knowledgable and personalized care.

I felt that both my baby and I were given one on one attention with nurses who were professional, caring and passionate for the well-being of women and infants.

So if you're looking for a safe, quiet and caring enviroment during and after your birth, with a team of dedicated and loving nurses, then look no further than Medical City McKinney!

extremely poor communication and service by shaun, one of the intake specialists. Ended up having to call my insurance myself to get pre surgical checkups cleared. when i asked why there was difficulty with the insurance, he told me that it was because i did not make an appointment. How on earth am i at fault for his difficulty with my insurance? We had previously called and attempted to do so, and were later informed by his manager that you cannot make an appointment. While i got the insurance information he needed for him, while he held onto my insurance card and license, we were informed by the company that no one had called yet. He told me that the reasons for the issues with my insurance was because it was weird, despite it being the second largest insurance provider in the USA. It seemed that everything except poor shaun was at fault. due to his ineptitude i was taken back without a bracelet for my scans. He continually answered my elderly mother back when she became involved as well, as it was pathetic we had to do his job for him, and told her that he had worked there for 5 years so he knew what he was doing. obviously he did not as you do not talk to people in this manner even at a fast food restaurant, let alone at a hospital. While all techs were professional i was taken aback by his behavior and was shocked at the lack of respect he had for his elders. While being taken care of by techs, one mentioned that a student was there today. based off his age, i somehow doubt he had been there for five years, and if he has, it explains why he has not been promoted yet. I do not recommend anyone come here for walk in check ups so they do not encounter him, it was an extremely unpleasant experience ontop of being ill and in need of surgery. it gave me an unneeded taste of what some mothers endure while raising a teenage boy.

The ER staff was amazing. After several tests, they diagnosed my husband with a urinary tract infection which was boardline sepsis. The second floor staff was great. We live close to Baylor, but will drive across town to go to MCM. The one thing that we noticed about the ER was that his RN needed help and had to work like grease lightning to get everything done. We could see that one RN was not enough to accomplish all the tasks required, such as data entry into the computer, operate medical equipment, draw blood multiple times, etc.

My daughter was born with jaundice, which is a very common issue for newborns, the nursery staff was horrible. They did not advice me to feed her formula because it would help her pass stool faster and help the jaundice level drop, they put a billy blanket on her and put protective eyewear on her 4 hours after she started the billy blanket procedure!! If the lights could damage her eyes, trust me waiting four hours to put protective eye wear on her wouldve been too late! They totally forgot to put the eye wear on her! We were there for 2 days and kept asking to meet a doctor to get some answers, finally we had to call and ask for a manager before the nurse practitioner would hurry up and come speak to us. We were so mad and felt our daughter was in more danger there than at home! This is a very common newborn condition, im actually afraid how they would care for a child who has a more rare condition.... This experience was horrible, we felt our daughter was totally neglected and the staff for the newborns was not careful, smart, and they do not care for these babies. My care was good after i gave birth, but when i arrived to be induced my care was totally horrible too. They couldnt find the phone number for my midwife and doctor (how that happens, i have no clue).. They waited hours to start my induction because i guess they had other emergencies ( i guess they need to be better staffed) and i felt totally neglected waiting to be induced. My anesthesiologist was amazing and my after birth staff was good too. The rest was the worst experience ever (and I have 3 other kids, so plenty of experience, lol).

They were overbooked, which was obvious when they checked in 7 people within 5 minutes. No one said anything about them being behind or that you would complete the check-in process once they had an available IPAD. They appeared to only have 2 IPADS to go between the 7 people who had checked in. A courtesy statement that they were running behind would have been appreciated, especially for those who are handicapped and require extra assistance.

I called to get information on visiting. My sibling was going to have a quadruple bypass since he or she is not married and has a oyfriend or a girlfriend she or he was going to be there which is more than fine with all of us. I just wanted to know if something were to happen to my sibling if it would be okay if I was there what would I need to do or where would I would need to go the lady immediately got an attitude and cut me off . She did not even answer the question because she cut me off right in the middle of the question telling me. There is no visiting hours at this time which I understand because I work in a hospital as well it varies from hospital to hospital on the visitors to the patients but if she had let me finish with what I was asking she could have simply said only one person in the surgery waiting room for that person if it will be your siblings better half girlfriend or boyfriend then you will not be able to wait with that person even though you are the next of kin you can only be in the hospital to visit a patient who is at end of life. Will ok then. So my immediate thought is well if my sibling dies on the operating room during open heart surgery does that not count.
Will with any surgery there is that small chance of one dying on the table. I get it I understand that she may deal with a lot of outsider's calling in and asking the same question and her haven't repeated herself numerous times. But instead of cutting somebody off she should have just let them finish the question. You can be polite by saying ma'am or sir which she did but will its not polite even though you're using the word ma'am or sir with raising your tone of voice and cutting that other person off that is not any kind of language of caring. I just hope she got her morning coffee and she gets nicer to other family members that may call and ask about visiting hours for patients or surgery waiting rooms ER or any other Hospital questions they may have I only called because I live two and a half hours away from this Hospital.

TERRIBLE! I waited 4+ hours in ER only to receive a misdiagnosis. I visited with my actual doctor the following day who, adamantly, told me NOT to take the prescribed meds from this hospital because I did not need it. Worst ER experience I've ever had in my life. I never even met with a doctor. A nurse gave me my discharge papers. They took my blood, multiple times, couldn't get it right, and were about to discharge me without discussing anything until I pressed it (which is why I think they just diagnosed SOMETHING) I will challenge my insurance for the separate billing because the so-called doctor did nothing. 0 stars here.
