I have to say, I spent 3 1/2 hours in the emergency department for a possibly strangulated umbilical hernia and my expectations for treatment were beyond exceeded. My doctor, Dr Martens, and my nurse (I forgot his name but he was super awesome) were both extremely attentive, answered all my questions, took my concerns seriously, Dr Martens was able to help my hernia recede into a safe position and I was helped finding a local surgeon to be refered to within my insurance network before I left the building. This was not (as a person with a chronic illness like Crohn's disease, I have had to spend my time in ERs and have had very unfortunate experiences) a visit that consisted of "let's give you some painkillers and get you packing and collect your insurance"; like you would recieve at Baylor Scott and White. No compassion fatigue, a clean hospital, a good natured and *extremely* attentive staff, I have to say, way to go Medical City McKinney. Thank you for your care and service. I hope to not have to use emergency services again, and I appreciate the time taken to find a physician to follow up with my care. If I have ever have another emergency or if any of my family does, this is where I want them to be treated. Thank you for earninf my trust.
