I had to mess with an extremely unfriendly seller - After leaving the shop, I noticed that the packaging of the purchased item is damaged (probably by falling down). I was worried that the expensive device in the packaging might be damaged. So I'm back in business to tell the seller my concern. This has extremely annoyed and snotty reaction. He even claimed that it was me. Finally, he tore the cardboard from my hand and cut the packaging. Since the object was undamaged, I was addressed again patronizing instructive. Never again will I shop there. Complaint was sent to the market - no reaction. No-go.

Had a return and a question about a sat nav.

1. Return: Had unopened goods and receipt. At the reception a voucher was filled in and the department booked the cash return. That took two minutes.

2nd question about Navi. The seller Mr. Yildirim was very knowledgeable and extremely committed. Was 100% satisfied.

And all this on Saturday before Christmas. Super.

ICH wurde hier sehr freundlich in der Fernsehabteilung und ruhig, ohne Hektik bedient. Gott sei Dank war auch nicht viel los, so dass kein Stress auf kam.

Well, as usual nowadays, the seller is poorly informed about the goods he sells. He can talk a lot and talk a lot, but he does not have much idea. As usual with the Media Markt, the offers from the advertising are really cheap, but everything else overpriced. This is usually cheaper elsewhere.

I am there almost every week as i still buy CDs in...

I am there almost every week as i still buy CDs instead of streaming music over the internet. Even if it is more expensive, it is socially more responsible as more people are getting paid. As for the prices they are usually the same as other regional retailers or cheaper. If you ask the people there, they also can - up to a reasonable margin - reduce the prices to other online shop prices.

The selection of CDs they have on stock has been reduced twice over the course of ten years, but they still are able to order some CDs not available online anymore. Most of the important new releases are available on release friday as well.

The games section has been reduced twice as well in that time, but it still offers a decent list of items on stock. If you are talking German, the staff will even be able to recommend you games based on their content. If you don't speak German, they are trying their best to help you out anyway. You can see on their name tags which languages they speak.

The games and CD/DVD/Blu-Ray departments can also look into nearby MediaMarkt stock numbers if you ask the staff. These numbers are updated daily as far as I know but they should be able to point you into the right direction if you search for more exotic products. They were even able to order a two year old collector's edition from another MediaMarkt in southern bavaria.

I cannot say much about the other departments (Coffee machines, dish washers, fridges, mobile phones, photo cameras and so on) as I have not bought anything from that area. The tv area is decent sized and the selection is ok. I have bought my tv there as well and the staff knew what to search for once I said my parameters. The cables for mobile phones, computers or tv are mostly by hama with some small exceptions. It wouldn't hurt to have more variety there.

I cannot say much about the financing options other people rate when rating this store, as I don't understand why someone needs to finance a tv or dishwasher, but it is a service offered by a german bank (not MediaMarkt itself) and has some limitations such as having a work permit in Germany and being at this job for over 6 months and so on. Also the documents you will be signing are definitely in German and - at least in Germany - you must be able to understand what you sign.

People trying to finance their purchase at 5 minutes before closing time are also disturbing. The same rules will still apply even if you are close to or past closing times. You need to take yourself at least half an hour to be sure to get it through. Please show some respect to the people working their 8 hour shift there already when you go into half an hour of unpaid overtime for them. I've also not yet found any of the staff to be impolite. If you think of them as people who want to help you, they might open up - a little friendlyness goes a long way

Unfortunately, employees have no technical know-how. Mostly only semi-skilled without training "seller but no specialist consultant". Unfortunately not recommended. Luckily the shop is in the middle of Munich, there is a "stupid" every day and goes shopping there. So they don't run out of customers, otherwise they would have been closed for a long time.
