What an awesome experience, especially for kids. Parking is aplenty, pricing is reasonable, and my little one is really enjoying it.

My girls love spending time at McWane. My 15-year old has enjoyed it so much throughout her life that she volunteers there now.

There is so much to do and to learn there. The Imax Dome is amazing for watching movies too.

The "itty bitty magic City" area was so awesome for my toddler. After hours of exploration, I had to finally carry her kicking and screaming when I told her it was time to go!

Great place to go an learn. While having some family fun.

We loved the trip to the Mcwane center! You can make a day trip of it here and get lost in all of the interesting things they have to do. My daughter really enjoyed the new guitar experience that is there now. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting.

We enjoyed ourselves today but it was very busy with rowdy school kids and adults who were not watching them.The gift shop is my favorite place. Great employees and lots of great stuff!

Great indoor spot for fun and education for all ages.

Always a great time, kids love coming here and I like that they change their exhibits regularly.

My kids love the place, we spend 2 hours every other week.
If you'll visit at least 3 times in a year it's better to buy membership.

Nice and clean. Had nice variety to do. We went on a field trip. There was plenty of things for the kids to do. Had a fun time.

They are very kid friendly and every other year they change the third floor to something new!

So educational and fun. Great day for the whole family. The traveling exhibits keep this place relevant for multiple visits. It is pretty inexpensive when you do both the Hall of exhibits and IMAX.

This place was so great, we bought a membership on our first visit. Even though we live an hour and a half away, I know we'll be back several times. My two year old had a blast, as did myself and my husband!

I was on crutches when i visited the mcwane center. All the staff was more than helpful to help me get into a wheelchair for me to scoot around in.

We have a season pass, my son and I go at least twice a month we love it!

The McWane center is a blast - I'm past my childhood years but I still think it's fun. Check out the IMAX Theater for sure as well

Awesome place to explore the different areas of science. I am a science teacher and I had just as much fun as my scholars! The IMAX theater/movie was so enlightening. Our lunches were perfect. Field trip quite successful. Now I want to bring my own children asap.

Great place for family's friends kids and everybody

We love to visit this place every Christmas when visiting in Birmingham with family. Across the street is a new food hall that is awesome. Don t miss it

My little boy is 3 and he loves the kids play section! There is a ton for them to do in there! He also started enjoying the dino dig!

Overall we had a wonderful time. However, I was disappointed at the cleanliness of the whole place. The bathrooms were not well kept and many of the toys had lots of grim on them. But the kids loved it! And the parents did too!

Being a member pays off! My kids always have a blast!

This is a fun place to go. Especially with elementary school age kids. Be ready for a decent crowd due to schools being there on field trips all the time.

I love teaching here. From neat science experiments and concepts to ecology, this science museum is a great place to get kids involved with science at an early age. Inspired me to go to med school.

All I can say is I really love the Imax theatre. WOW.

Small kids will love this place. It was also easy on me to interact with them and have fun too.

The place is fun, but slowly deteriorating. I've been visiting here since I was a child, and now with my child, and the McWane Center is starting to show its wear and tear. Some of the video monitors used for the exhibits are extremely old and barely work correctly, many of the exhibits have been removed for whatever reason, it's just sad. Still a fun place to visit with kids, but with as much money as they earn, I don't understand why they have so much empty space and worn down equipment.

My Kids love this place. Always changing. Does a good job to keep most exhibits fresh.

Really fun museum for kids and parents alike. Had a great time there. Expect to spend at least 4 hours checking out everything. The movies are great and inexpensive for a family experience. There is food on site, you can get pizzas and sandwiches. The exhibits are very interactive as well so expect to be able to do a lot of activities with your young ones. Highly recommend and visit here on a rainy day or to get out of the Sun and enjoy some fun family activity.

Visited with 12 and 13 year old. Both found plenty of activities to participate in. The imax theater was fun. Center was clean and well maintained. We spent 4 hours in the center on a Sunday afternoon. It was not overly crowded, we were able to participate in all activities the group was interested in. Happy to see a family bathroom, entire area was handicap accessible with elevators and spacing between events. We will return.

So much to see and do. Al age groups will never be bored.

We're members. We always have a good time here. We took a mental health day off and went on a weekday morning. We almost had the place to ourselves and the 'big kids' got to have fun too!

Great place to take your kids. It has a lot of interacting exhibits that the kids will love.

We had a great experience at McWane Scuence Center. There are a ton of activities for kids, both young and old! There s an area dedicated for kids 6 and younger. Within that section, there is an area for kids 2 and under. My 11 month old daughter really enjoyed that area, while my 3 year old enjoyed the Itty Bitty section. There s also a family bathroom within that part of the museum, which is super helpful. I would definitely recommend coming her if you have kids.

A lot of stuff was closed, and they didn't tell us when we paid. It's pricy.

Great place for kids but it is not cheap. Plan to stay all day. Kids younger than 5 have difficulty sitting through the IMAX movie so if you try it sit somewhere close to an exit point

This is one of my most favorite places to take my boys. It's so neat. We have been several times and have had fun each time

My child loves this place. I can t believe I m saying this but it s even better than than the Exploratorium in San Francisco. (Well except the location... no bay view here)
There is something for everyone...
The Itty Bitty city is great for toddler and pre-k kids. The IMAX theater is entertaining for the whole family. The interactive exhibits are great for ages 3 or 4 and up! Best time to visit is during school hours or after 2 during vacation weeks. Skip the food and head across the street to the food court.
Get the membership! It will get you into the Rocket Center too if you live in Jefferson County (plus 300+ museums in other states)

Wish you could pay for certain levels because the lower level was a waste of time the sting rays do not come to the edges for kids to pet them and they close every hour. We enjoyed Itty Bitty World the most!!

Had an amazing time! The exhibits were fun and for everyone. The IMAX theater is always a wonderful experience. A great place to bring the kids or just to visit alone
