Always a great place to go! We have a yearly membership! It would be nice if there was a time that the 1st-5th could also play in Itty Bitty City!

Great for Elementary school as well as preschool aged kids, and fun for parents, too. Excellent scientific educational experiences, interactive and enjoyable!

Great place to bring kids. After Covid they have had to limit several attractions but most of it it open. Older kids (5 and older) might understand more but they have things for the younger kids too. Also a good place for science loving adults.

The science center offers something for everyone. It has activities for the young and the young at heart. It also makes you smarter! The displays are interactive and fascinating! Highly recommended!

My 7 yr old loved McWane. Lots to do, we could have spent all day here.

This place makes me feel like a kid again. When a friend or family member tells me that their child is having a birthday party at the McWane center, I'm like Yes! Aside from the awesome science / discovery area, they also have an IMAX theater. Since the McWane center is a science center, this IMAX usually only plays science documentaries. Which are awesome. But occasionally they will screen a popular traditional movie.

Easy parking, lots of cool stuff for kids, food court is good

Mcwane center is always a lot of fun for the whole family! Parking is 5 dollars in the deck, and they have an in house puzza hut and subway for lunch! The new ittybitty city is the best! My 4 year old loved it! Get the membership and save a lot if money!

Hands on. Excellent for kids of all ages. We had our oldest 16 year old all the way to our 2 year old. Great time for all!

Awesome! Engaging experiments all over - entertained everyone from the 1-yr-old to the grandparents. Itty Bitty City was an especially big hit with the little kids - they loved the pretend diner, and the water features.

What an exciting place to take children of all ages. Lots of action stations for kids to do things. Dancing lights, optical illusion toms, laser harps, huge bubbles, huge saltwater pond with sharks you can pet, (two fingers only), building blocks, bed of nails!
I max movie theater too.

I would give 5 stars, but I feel a few of the exhibits are getting too worn (Itty Bitty Magic City). I have been to others in larger cities and Mcwane is better.

You could never see it all! We go at least once a week

Wonderful experiences with our grandson over the years. Every Christmas we look forward to train exhibit. Highly recommend grandparent membership.

Love this place. Itty Bitty City needs to be sanitized better.

It's an educational facility for young minds. Lots of things to do that amaze children and some adults. Will be a regular here from now on. My Children thoroughly enjoyed it.

Been here several times, both with kids and adults, and we've never failed to have a good time. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Such a wonderful place to take the family, my daughters LOVE this place and beg to go. It is always very clean and the staff is extremely friendly when we go. The aquarium is my favorite part of the whole museum.

My kids love it here. I get to come here often because I'm a school bus driver.

Took my little sister and two toddlers on a rainy day. They loved everything! Definitely worth the trip.

Great place for kids of all ages! I m 22 and still had a good time

Way overcrowded. My son is 2 so we took him to the itty bitty magic city and there were kids like 10-13 year olds running all over the other small children. One kid took a bowl from him near the water and I said hey he had that first. This child purposely dumped the water all over my child. When I went to find this child's mother he was telling her to shut up so that explains that. They claim it's only for children 6 and under but don't enforce it. He was ran over pushed down and it was awful. We Will NEVER go back.

We love the Itty Bitty Magic city! It's a lot of fun for my 18 month old, he never want to leave.

Enjoyed everything kids had a great time one stop we couldn't do was down stairs the Live Aquarium my son has fish allergy the smell was strong so we by passed that one.. so if you can't be around the smell airborne don't go down stairs.

Great experience for kids and grown ups. They could use a little upgrades and refreshing some of the areas.

Took the Family, price was fair and the kids (12 & 2 yo) had a good time and learned a little through play. Would recommend a visit check the centers website for special events. Parking Deck is tight so large trucks or long vehicles may want to find street parking to avoid the tight squeeze. Family will be returning and may need to get a season pass.

What a rich and vibrant spot for children and anyone lucky enough to accompany of them. There s more than enough physical, experiential, and intellectual material to make this an all-day trip; good luck getting your little one out of there in a timely manner.

Great attention to detail during reopening after the pandemic. The Children are back to learning and having so much fun.

We love any day at Mcwane, but special days like this week's Turkey Science activities addition make it part of our special memories as family during precious time together with our kiddo.

A awesome place to visit with kids and adults alike

Definitely geared towards kids, top floor is pretty much empty and the aquarium is a few fish tanks. Activity center was popping off though, but alot of interactions were broken. Disappointed.

We stopped here on our way to Florida with two small kids. The toddler area is fantastic. We loved the summer exhibit on dinosaurs. It's right off the exit, so if you are passing through I would recommend it for sure.

This was the second time that we went to the McWane Science Center. Last time was really awesome which was two summers ago. This time was around spring break and it seemed like schools were there and there was no supervision with a lot of kids. Our granddaughter's got pushed out of the way or people broke in line while the girls were waiting for something like the driving video game I guess you would call it, etc. This was my husband's first time and he wasn't impressed after I told him how awesome it was with my three nephews and three granddaughters two years ago. LOL, The grandkids still had fun.

A wonderful place to spend a few hours out of the heat. Military and veterans, including family get in free, but still pay for parking. Bring kids for learning various things, including history, science, and art.

This place is fantastic. A must see if you are traveling through Birmingham (with or without children). If you are a science lover this place is a wonderland of neat experiments and adventures.

Had our 9 year olds party here. Brian and his team made it special. Thank you for a fun Saturday.

We had an event here and it was a success. The McWane took really good care of us.

This place is very neat for the kids, although messy at the same time. It's a great place to spend a weekend day if it's rainig or if you want your kids to learn through play. Plus the annual membership is great if you visit frequently.

It's an amazing place! The kids loved it. They loved it so much they actually cried when we had to leave. I gotta look into the annual membership because it is well worth coming back more than once or twice. There is stuff for all ages. My wife and I divided and conquered. I followed our toddler in the itsy bitsy city while she explored science exhibits with our 1st grader. Overall...amazing!

Clean, lots to see on 4 floors. Very sweet employees.

This place was overwhelming with sights, sounds, touch, learning labs, science, history, and activities for all ages!! We became lost in the shuffle for 2 hours without even trying. Love to make another trip back soon!
