Always a good time! Kids love it! Membership is the only way to go

I love this place and we come at least once a month but it s frustrating when the same interactional exhibits/activities don t work.

We took the lower youth group from the church and had an amazing experience.

Great place for my 1 and 2 year olds. Should be even better as they grow up!

My 4 year old daughter loves it. We go twice a month, she never get tried of it.

Plenty of hands on exhibits even for adults. A couple were not functioning.

If you have kids and live in northern Alabama you would be a fool to not have a family membership. Go twice and it has paid for itself. My children cant get enough of the McWane center. So much value in one place.

Great location. My children are never disappointed with the many hands on and interactive exhibits. The summer camp is awesome!

We were recommended by someone to come her and I have to say it was EELL WORTH IT. We all had fun including my toddler. I would say this is something everyone should when visiting Birmingham, especially with children.

My daughter loves this place!! I try and take her every chance I get!! A great place to take her if it's raining or 1000 degrees outside!! There is a place to eat as you come in! And snacks on the bottom level but it's best to bring your own stuff in!!

Our boys loved all the hands on activities. Great way to spend a Saturday!

Had pretty neat attractions and things. Imax dome is always cool.

Every person of every age can find something to enjoy! Plan to spend several hours there or you will be sad you didn't.

McWane is always a fun place to go for kids and adults! I took a couple of my littles that I babysit and I think I had more fun then they did!

Awesome!! I really enjoyed meeting up with my grandson for a field trip. he had the best time of his life and I really enjoyed watching him. This is a great place for all ages even the old ones like us.

It has been years since I was last here. I love this place. I have yet to see the changes done here and can't wait to see them. This is an amazing place to go if you have a love for science. Hope to go back soon.

This place has a good balance for all ages. Plenty of interactive but still education activities for younger children. The floor that details the wild animals of Alabama was particularly interesting. The top floor had some engaging exhibits around the mechanics of automobiles. Great place for STEM learning!

It was great went with my daughter school and we had a blast

the museum has a lot of potential, but it needs a lot of work in upkeep. approximately half of the exhibits were broken. in an interactive museum it happens but it is also important to keep the museum in working order.

Love the sharks and sting rays. I have taken my kids here a million times, really want some new stuff

The staff was extremely rude when we tried to ask for help, parking is horrible, but the interact center for the kids is great and lots of fun for them. The dino dig was the kids favorite

This place is always a big hit with my kids. They play like it's their first time visiting, every time. The membership is well worth it. A great place to visit all year.

Although aimed at younger ages, any one of any age will find something to marvel at here. Some of the 'exhibits' are rather worn and could use some refurbishing though. Recently, the committee has included scheduled events under the program name "McWane After Dark" to interest more adults into enjoying and learning the sciences of the everyday.

I've visited many science museums and McWane is one of my favorites! It has 4 stories of fun, interactive, experiences that are fun for the whole family! You won't regret a visit.

Incredible, you can understand how the basic elements of science work, in addition to testing and exploring the entire site. Incredible experience for adults and children. You test physics, chemistry and biology in one place.

Too many little kids unsupervised tearing up the place. Could not read and partake in tasks secondary to unsupervised kids.

More than half their exhibits are gone or closed due to COVID but they make no mention of this on the website. Waste of money to go right now.

We love going to Mcwane. The Itty Bitty City is so much fun for our 2 year old. We could easily spend the whole day here. We always go to the lower level to see the fish before we leave. She loves watch the sting rays. They change the top floor every so often. So we always go to see the new set up.

Lots of fun for all ages. Not all of the exhibits were open/working which was disappointing but overall a great place. Will definitely go again.

My 18 month old loves the mcwane center and especially itty bitty magic city! There are three floors and an IMAX. You won't regret going!

This center offers an amazing hands-on experience for the whole family! My 3 year old daughter and almost 1 son had a blast discovering the many exhibits, as well as the adults in our group. The center offers hours of indoor fun (this is key for summer in AL!), while providing learning opportunities. We're a military family, and the McWane Science Center is a Blue Star Museum, allowing us to enter free of cost during the summer months, which is an added bonus for us! We will definitely be returning!

Plenty of fun things to do and see here. Everything seems to work as expected even though some things are starting to show their age.

This is a great place for young kids to about 12 years old. There is a huge variety of activities to do with all types of science. The shark petting and stingray petting zoo exhibit was very cool! Every floor has things that everybody will enjoy. The staff is very friendly. The price may be a little steep but our kids thoroughly enjoyed it

Enjoyed this visit. Joined my God daughters kindergarten class for a trip and had a ball. Planning to return soon. Love the public parking. So many experiences inside.

Great place for kids. Have been a few times and the kids always have the best time. Lots of different activities and hands on things to do. Love the itty bitty magic city, kids can roam and play and explore all sorts. Love the animals and information to learn about them. Great place to have fun and learn and expand little minds!

The science center is perfect for those weather days where hands on are perfect for little and older alike.

I wish the displays were updated more frequently to make me feel like it was worth buying the membership. But overall, we usually enjoy a quick runthrough when it's not too busy
