McWane center is an amazing place for children as well as adults. Lots of hands on intertainment for every one. The imax theatre is so much fun to be in. We have been there several times . I love the feeling of being up in a hot air balloon or riding a wild roller coaster. Once the movie was about insects, so scary, we felt like tiny ants. Most anyone would have a great time at McWane Center.

The science center was an amazing and fun place to spend the day and I have no complaints about that at all. The staff was so sweet and helpful. I am giving a one star rating because of the building manager. Add the center closed I called my hotel to send a shuttle to pick us up. At 515 the building manager approached me and my 4yr old daughter to try and make us wait OUTSIDE. That alone was rude, not to mention it is raining and there are severe weather alerts followed by tornado warming. Were it not for the fact that I am a 300lb man, I am sure they would have succeeded. This was a terrible and rude way to end an otherwise amazing day. I know your security guard needs to lock up but 15 minutes is not that long and it is appalling that you would try to make a young child wait outside in harsh weather. This alone will keep me from coming bank. Too bad cuz the rest was fun.

The kids love this place. Some of the exhibits don't work, but enough do keep them entertained. More interactive than several other science museums I have visited. It's a little pricey unless you have a membership. It is $5 to park. I go once a year in the summer with my niece and nephew.

Great pace to explore. Very educational. Lots of stuff to do. Cool IMAX theater. Cool Dinosaur exhibit. Good views form the top deck of the parking garage. Has lots of cool things that you see online. Would recommend stopping by. Lots of fun stuff to do while you are there. Would recommend the IMAX. Bring money not free.

As Amazed As The Kids On The Field Trip
McWane Center is happening every time my daughter's school does a field trip. The museum has so many attractions and exhibits change to keep the children engaged. You just have to trust me on this one. The kids have a great time. You might lose your breath

So much fun so unexpected! I was worried our large age range group 4-14 wasn't going to have a lot of interest across the board. However, oldest to youngest was so happy and had so much fun I was dragging them out at closing! The people who work/volunteer there are superior people and make everything so very pleasant!

If you have kids, this is a place for you. Took nieces and nephews here while visiting from out of state, and they had a blast. A lot of interactive obstacles both kids and Adults can enjoy. The bad parts were the parking deck and how the city looks a little sketch around the area.

Excellent hands-on experience! We have a two and a half year old that was pretty upset when we had to leave. We were hurricane evacuees, and the museum was very accommodating. Highly recommended.

Update: I took a star off because quite a few exhibits were broken or missing pieces. They need to keep things in good repair with hundreds of kids playing daily. If not this place will go downhill fast.

Love this place. I also love that there is a special area for toddlers. My boys could spend the whole day in that area alone.

I'm a science teacher and I loved this place. LOTS of hands-on activities and a great kids' zone. My 3 year old daughter also had a blast. I took videos and pictures to enhance next years' lessons.

Got food at the cafe area and realized after I paid that they don't serve Pizza Hut pizzas anymore. It's just some random name now. Also, I'm pretty sure that they increased the prices on these no name pizzas that didn't taste as good. Great, now I will have to order whole pizzas from Pizza Hut to be delivered to my work instead of the convenience of walking next door for these smaller and readily available ones that taste like the cardboard box that they come in.
The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because at least they added dippin dots. Hope next time I go in, if I go at all, that they haven't replaced that too with some off brand fake ice cream that tastes bad and is over-priced like the pizzas.

Am I missing something? Because the experience that the other contributors have posted was NOT my experience! The food court was a mess with trash overflowing, food and debris all over the table and it was in general disarray. On top of that, with the prices of the initial tickets, food, IMAX and the VR machine.. I ended up spending over $200 for a family of 4! Which would beokay if 1/3 of the exhibits weren't "down for maintenance", something that should have been posted but wasn't! This was a couple of months back, perhaps itsit's better now? But I won't be returning, the CR department didnt even offer coupons for our next visit, even when I sent clear photos of the mess.
