This place is so fun and educational. There is so much to do and love the different activities every hr . My favorite is the touch tank .

Gifted our daughter and family with a year's membership recently..then, we all went..

We LOVE the place and Jeffrey went wild...wonderful, imaginative attractions for the kids...watching them enjoy..PRICELESS

This place is huge with lots of stuff for the kiddos to do!

Our family enjoyed it on a rainy day, the ladies at the ticket counter were really nice and the IMAX was great as always

We should be ashamed as we live close to Birmingham, and we only just now visited the McWane Center. We loved it though! Our 3 year old was in heaven. Their Itty Bitty City was a toddler's dream. The parking deck was narrow and tight, but we made it! It is a must if you have little ones, they will be busy and amazed for hours!

Kids had a blast, alot to see and do while learning. Stay for the lightning show and touch the animals always fun.

Excellent place to take kids, I even learned some new stuff and really impressed. And great way to kill some time on a rainy day for sure.

Haven't been in years. Everything is the same, I had a great time with my friend. Only sad part for me was that some things didn't work and the food court closes so early (3:00pm) I got there 30 minutes too late.

Great family fun from babies to parents! Staff was great with kids and knowledgeable about facilities and activities! Definitely will be returning!!

Very educational. Several features needed attention but overall we enjoyed it

I was disappointed with the activities for kids. Things they had didn't keep their interest more than 3 minutes.

Love this place! So many exhibits for children and adults. I highly recommend taking your children here. A whole lot of fun and also a good educational experience! Friendly and welcoming staff, nice facilities and just so many cool things to see. If you have a profound interest in science, you'll fall in love with this place. Even if you're not so crazy about science, you probably will be before you leave this place! Five stars just isn't enough.

We went on free museum day and it was amazing! Not to crowded at all!

A very nice place for fun and learning for kids and adults. If we lived closer, I think we would have a membership. All three of my kids loved it and had lots of fun!

Very fun place to go for people of any age. Lots of hands on science. If you have a toddler or younger, the Itty Bitty Magic City is definitely an attraction at the Mcwayne Science Center that you will want to visit. The IMAX Movie Dome is a must see as well.. Tickets are under $10.

Such a fun place for people of all ages! A great place to learn, explore, and play! The price of admission is so reasonable for all there is to do here. Highlights for us included the bubble area and the touch pool!

Huge museum with a ton of exhibits. Everything is hands on and the kids had a blast.

This was my kids first time going and they had a blast!! They are 3 and 1 and didn't want to leave.

Excellent for children. Very hands on exhibits, there s not any don t touch signs anywhere. (Why didn t they have any cool stuff like this when I was a kid. )
We went during the DNA exhibit and if it s any reflection of the kinds of exhibits they regularly have, I would say it s well worth going again and again.

3-4 floors of great hands-on science! They also have an area just for toddlers and children under 6!

I attended as a chaperone with my son for his 4th grade field trip. The kids all seemed to enjoy it! I would definitely go back in the future. The IMAX dome was really cool, and the movie Pandas was really entertaining! There was quite a bit of hands on items. The science show we got to see had the kids in aww. The giant Tesla coils were very cool!

Huge place. We are members of local ASTC Science Center so we got in for free. Really neat place.

Adventures to be add. We needed more then 2 hours to see all the amazing.

As a 22 year old, I enjoyed this much more than I should have. Just as fun and educational, if not more, as when I was little.

Great reasonably priced day trip for the family, lots of interesting things & activities, my 2yo & 6yo love going there

Great exhibits and plenty of fun things for kids of all ages to do. Itty Bitty Magic City is great for the kindergarten and under crowd and the seasonal exhibits are always excellent. Get a membership!

Everything is very interesting. Wow! It is awesome! The children and adults loved it!

We went for a school field trip. My son keeps asking if we can go back. He loved it there. Thank you for providing an awesome learning environment for kids. Thank you for the elevators; but PLEASE add more BENCHES!

We loved it! A great learning experience for the kids, very clean, plenty of walking space, they allow you to leave and come back if needed and the employees were very friendly.

This place is amazing for everybody! I highly suggest the little Birmingham for anyone with toddlers.

Great exhibits! The dinosaurs were the kids favorite, but there is a whole little learning area upstairs with water toys, a massive jungle gym, play restaurant, farming area, mechanics garage, marketplace, and for station. The aquarium is decent as well, and the dome theater is great if you haven't been. We didn't get through it all in a day. Get lunch at the Pizitz across the street, if you can't find good food in there you aren't looking. Do recommend!

So much fun! Good for all ages though it definitely leans towards the younger children. I took my 13 year old and there was plenty of interest for the both of us. Plus right across the street is an international food hall with some amazing options. Walking distance to lots of things in downtown Birmingham.

So amazing! I can't believe how huge this place is. We got in free with our nc science center pass too. My kids had a blast! We will be making a stop here every time we're in Birmingham.

Very fun. The price isn't bad for the quality. Clean place. Very interesting activities. A great place to take your children. Very educational. They also have great events. There's a play area for young children.

My family loves it here! We became members so we can go anytime and it is more than worth it. We love how they change some of the exhibits every few months so we get to see new things and also really love the "Itty Bitty Magic City" for ages 5 and under. A great place for the while family!

Their is so much to see and do there it is more like a two day trip.

Very handicap friendly! Very hands on! There is something for everybody at every age and of all interests. Even the adults can learn something new while bonding with their kids. It's reasonably priced. Once your in you have access to the whole museum with the exception of the theater. Worth the trip and great air conditioned activity for the whole family!

My girls (ages 3 and 5) loved our visit to the science center! McWane Science Center has so many activities for everyone to enjoy. The activities are engaging, educational, and fun. There are three levels of fun. After going through each center, we were all thoroughly tired...but in a good way. This is a perfect way to spend some time with family doing indoor activities based on science. We will definitely visit the McWane Science center again.

Definitely a fun place to take your kids, or even the whole family! I like how they have floors that have constantly changing exhibits! Some of them are really fun! I've never come across a bat exhibit, I will definitely say that. Thank you guys for what you do!

Awesome place for adults and kids. Activities get a little stale and change out seldomly, though.

We loved everything here it kept our kids attention they are ages 10, 5, and 3. When it was time to leave they didn't want to go.

Itty Bitty Magic City delighted our grandchildren ages 2, 6 and 8.

It's ok. But it's to much going on an whole lot of kids . But now my kids they loved it an really that is all that matters

Went on a field trip and the kids had a blast. We had to practically drag them back on the bus to go home. Will have to go back soon.

This is a great place for all ages. Every March, the UAB Neuroscience graduate students host Brain Awareness Week where kids of all ages can come to learn about basic neuroscience and neuro-anatomy. These are hands on demonstrations that are loads of fun and informational. McWane Science Center is a great place to learn about and explore the world around you. I highly recommend McWane for adults and kids of all ages.

Half the exhibits were poorly maintained. Wont go back unless there is a Groupon or sweet deal.

Such a great learning environment for kids of all ages. Adults too! Food available. Go and stay the whole day! Plenty to do.

Great place for kids to learn and have fun at the same time. My kids and I loved the demonstrations in the science lab.

Amazing place for field trips. My 2nd grade class loved it! They have tons of hands on learning activities that all ages enjoy. My class went primarily for the dino dig activity (some activities change and some remain). They loved the bubble table, simple machine activity, Tesla show, and demonstrations. They also have a very large gift shop.
