Edgefield is always such a wonderful place to visit. Atmosphere, drinks and food always perfect.
Only stopped for lunch at the black rabbit restaurant, but hope to come back some day and stay in the hotel. Lots to explore here.
A great outdoor venue. Small enough to keep the crowds and parking area manageable for entering and exiting.
The Power Station theater is a great place to see action movies because the movie itself is loud and keeps your attention. We saw Hostiles (which is a phenomenal movie) here which I would not recommend. Due to the quiet, dramatic scenes you can hear all of the laughter and activity of other patrons coming and going through the doors. It became difficult to hear the movie at times.
This is an amazing place. So eclectic. Great setting, rich history and a ton of options for things to do, places to eat and drink.
Great food even though they bussed our table when I took the kids to the restroom
I *heart* the Edgefield. There is nowhere else quite like it. It's like an adult playgroud stocked with booze. My cup runneth over.
Scenic, numerous venues, staff extremely solicitous...
Beautiful location! The food was fresh and delicious and the sangria was perfect! So many cool options at this place!
A really great environment - lots to see and do. The hotel is a treat to walk through, with a very interesting gift shop. We enjoyed the food, but weren't bowled over - but well worth the visit. The gardens are beautiful...
While the food was lacking a little in both variety and flavor, the atmosphere and the staff were awesome!
Bars, concerts, movies, food, golf.... Not bad at all.
20th Year Reunion last night. Fun place to have it. Food, beer and service were great. Wish it was a little closer to home but excellent experience.
The energy focus of this place is profound and enchanting.
This is a destination experience. We are collecting McMenamins stamps in one of their passports and can certainly spend the entire day here exploring, and getting those stamps.
You can't beat this spot for a lovely garden walk during any season of the year. The beers we had were well-finished, true to style (that hasn't always been my experience with the ever bro-popular IPA, which they seemingly cannot make fast enough), but over-priced at $6.25+ for a 16 oz pint. Food felt a bit corporate. Staff were nice.
Went to the Portugal the Man concert on the 24th of August. The venue was pretty good trees all Outdoors. Depending on the concert you can either sit or sometimes it's better to stand. As for the concert-goers you have the good and you have the bad. The concert was great though.
We opted for a room in the Power Station, and it was super clean and well-stocked. Bathrobes and towels were provided for the soaking pool which was absolutely the best!
A unique experience staying at this hotel. Some might feel the premises are dilapidated. Many of the rooms have shared bathrooms. The receptionist keeps a log of ghost encounters which made for a spooky night for the team - some found the humor in it, others were outright worried.
The music was good and it was a fun show. Overpriced to say the least.
Unlike anything you've ever experienced. If you've never gone just do it you won't be sorry
Attended my daughter's wedding. Lovely venue, but the smell in the rooms was awful. Cheap room air fresheners would have been better than the smell. It wasn't just my room, but everyone's in the wedding party smelled. Service in the restaurants was sometimes spot on, and sometimes not so much. Perhaps a bit understaffed? For the price I did expect more. Nicer rooms, more amenities.
Friendly service in a fun and unique atmosphere. Service was attentive, and the brunch was good. The menu wasn't huge at the black rabbit restaurant. The grounds at edgefield are huge so you never run out of places to explore. Good for large groups.
Went for lunch, took over an hour to get our food. The food was good but the wait was not worth it.
A little bit hard to figure out during the night on your first visit but it seems to be a great place for a variety of activities
Always great food in a fun atmosphere. Love their benedict breakfast options and fresh fruit salad. Many menu items are estate grown.
Everything there is always to die for. There's a huge variety of food/drink/activities with different vibes and price levels, so you're bound to find something that floats your boat, and the historic grounds are choice.
I always enjoy my visits to edgefield. Unique Dining/recreational environment.
Great concert venue! Good beer but spendy, ok food. Expect to be in a giant line for a getting in, getting food or drinks, and getting out of the parking lot. But, if it's a good musician and you are patient then it's worth it!
What's not to like about "The Edge". It is an amusement park for adults! With a brewery, distillery, winery, theater, spa, restaurants, golf, concerts, small bars and a hotel it is an amazing destination. They also have event spaces to rent for any occasion. The property is also super dog friendly. The art and history one can follow as they walk the property is fun, eerie and shocking. Oh did I mention the artisan spaces? You will also find a glass blower and potter onsite. One thing to note... if you are in a hurry Edgefield might not be the destination for you. But, if you have the time and want and authentic experience... check out "The Edge".
Brought out of town guests in hopes they would experience the many times we have eaten at any McEstablishments. What an embarrassment. 1 hour wait for under par food that had you guessing where the secret sauce was and herb roasted turkey was right off the lunch meat line. Our whole order was variety of sandwiches. How long should that take? The table behind us ordered food same time as us was served 30 minutes before us and finished before we even got our meal. I have had better sandwiches out of a vending machine! The pub poutine was cheese curdless. Young cheese cubed up. French fries were pretty much the bottom of the barrel tonight. They comped our beers for the one-hour wait.Shame on you McMenamins. New rule...when my order is not out in 20m or less... anywhere, I walk and pay for what I've been served.
We enjoy all the McMenamins properties. We love the way they attempt to preserve as much of the history as possible, but put their own quirky spin on things.
Great atmosphere, food was pretty good. Movie theatre was ok, but eating a meal during the movie made both better.
Goid ambiance and great craft beer selection. Cool little par 3 course. Good live music and multiple spots to eat.
I attended a concert there. Not a great outdoor venue but the rest of the grounds have lots a fun activities.
What are you gonna say, it's good and bad to have a McMenamins close by, it's a fun-ish family friendly spot. Concerts, Booze, Odd rooms with communal bathroom, Golf etc. Wish they'd come up with better recipes and stop serving thimbles of booze (not thier own) for an arm and leg. Good Ol' fashioned Oregon fun for those that don't know better.
Always easy, fun and fantastic. The grounds are really stunning and warrant a couple visitas at minimum. Make sure you get a passport and chick out the events calendar before planning a stay. Or just bump out here if your in PDX overnight, the rates are always great.
Great atmosphere, food, and drinks. The service was a little slow, but it was also faurly busy, so that's forgivable.
Only went for a casual and quick snack and drink. Very nice location and setting. Would recommend for anyone visiting Portland.
Had a great stay for a friend's 21st birthday. Its like a themepark, but the theme is bars. The grounds were lovely and well manicured. Our room was very large and clean. Excellent, friendly, prompt service from the whole staff.
Had our amazing wedding here and could not be happier. The food was delicious, the staff was well informed and very friendly.
Beautiful and well maintained grounds make for excellent strolls and pictured.
Beautiful grounds, historic buildings, good food, golf, massage and sauna.
We had so much fun. This trip the best part was the soaking pool.
Great venue and awesome that I was able to go to a nice restaurant after.
Great Thanksgiving buffet, not especially pricey (for a buffet) but good quality and selection.
Please go and treat yourself to this small paradise tucked away off Halsey. It's ALL good there!
Great place. Very large. Food is alwsome a little on the high side but worth it. I'd go back and I'm not a big spender. Even if you go to just check it out and walk around. It's pretty cool
Awesome, sprawling, historic location. Several small bars with different themes around the property, multiple restaurants, and. A fantastic concert venue in the summer. Plan on taking a day here, this is also a hotel, as well as the main brewery and distillery for the entire chain of McMenamins facilities, although some other locations contain smaller micro brew locations.
Such a beautiful property! I always have fun at the concerts.
I went to Edgefield for a movie showing and was greeted with smiles and great service. Everyone was in a great mood and it was a bit crowded but I had great fun!
Spent weekend and went to concert. Room large, bad bed, hot, no air conditioning, no TV kind like an old farm house covered with wall paintings. Old elevator was suspect, use the stairs. Food was good at Black Rabbit for dinner, breakfast was not, probably a result of my entree selection. French toast looked great. Most everything is a little overpriced. Experience at concert was a disaster. I'm 60 years old, and was unable to purchase a glass of wine for my wife, because I didn't have ID with me. Grey hair, bald spot and the barely post pubescent server refused me service. I have children older than him. Told him I was staying at the hotel, but you can't leave the concert area and return. My room was less than 50 yards away. I complained to someone supposedly with authority a bespectacled cop wannabe (he had a radio, that made him extra special) and got the company line, I was livid. Do not expect professionalism, customer service or common sense & courtesy from the concert security force. They should all return to working at McDonald's under probation and close supervision. I was never carded at any of the other venues for obvious reasons. Take a look at my photo, do I look younger than 21? I will not return!
Love this place. Great food and entertainment. Fun place to visit anytime of year.
Edgefield is utterly enchanting. It is like a place out of time. It is beautiful in every single aspect of its being. The soaking pool is on fleek and I am dazzled by the grounds. Go to watch glass blown into beautiful works of art before your very eyes. Go to sleep in rooms filled with character. Go to wander the halls in wonder. Go to be delighted by food and drink that is served promptly and impeccably. Go to reunite yourself with your Self
Also, I hear the golf course is fantastic too.
At Edgefield there is something for everybody
Came here with my wife & a few friends. No words to describe this place other than awesome!! Seriously, their is so much to do. It has cozy fire pits, numerous bars/lounges, rooms to book etc. The inside has a dark vibe to it and i dig it. Its different, but its unique. Definitely stop by!
Such a magical place! Love, love, love Edgefield! The soaking pool is the best!
Beautiful property with lots to do including massage, soaking pool, movie theatre, wine/ beer tours, golfing and plenty of restaurants.
Our room had a beautiful view of the gorge. Some rooms do not have their own bathrooms however the shared facilities are very clean and easy to use.
Very cool location. There are a variety of themed bars on the property. Awesome place to hang.
Great atmosphere and service could not make up for the "blah" food. Overcooked meat, undercooked french fries, no blue cheese on the Captain Bleau burger. Was a business lunch, so couldn't enjoy the bar.
We happened upon McMenamins Edgefield by accident. We decided to investigate and were not disappointed. The main building is amazing with so much to see. The winery downstairs is awesome, the beer they brew is really good. Wish the brewery was open. We didn't try their distillery but just an excuse to go back to Oregon. The food is fantastic and the staff is really friendly and helpful. I would go back anytime. In fact we might plan a trip to Oregon around McMenamins. I guess they have a few different places. All seem unique and awesome. I highly recommend going here.
We were there about 2 PM. There was a 15-20 minute wait before being seated. We ate in the pub. The waiter was there quickly and took our drink order. He was back soon enough to take our order. It was another 15-20 minute wait for our chicken sandwich and burger to arrive. The food was good but not spectacular. We will probably eat here again if we are close but won't go out of our way to go back. The grounds at this place are fantastic to spend an afternoon walking.
Came here for a concert. Lots of space for parking, event and regular staff were wonderful. Perfect venue for large outdoor events.
What a great experience. Herb gardens, glassblowing, eclectic art, fun staff!
Rooms are a bit small, but they get the job done. Nice, clean place with lots to do. Great food and drinks.
Great property. Fun place to spend an evening checking out all the bars and nooks/crannies.
Good place to get away and see a movie, relax and have a pizza.
Very busy, but the staff was attentative. Very pretty location.
Amazing place! If you're from out of town, go to this place! A new experience every single time we go!
Server was friendly, food and drinks were well prepared and delivered quickly.
Loved the soaking pools! It was especially nice that it was lightly raining while we were out there. Also, I didn't mind the shared bathrooms really at all, thought it would be more of a pain.
If you are ever looking for something to do I highly recommend Edgefield. And for those of you who like treasure hunts check out the McMenamins passport.
