We greatly enjoyed the outdoor seating at the pub. Our waiter was new but was great at his job. Their beer was as great as always!
I stayed in the women's hostel here recently and really enjoyed my stay. I didn't know what to expect when staying at the hostel, but it exceeded my expectations. The room was large and very clean. Each person is assigned a bunk and a locker for their belongings, and there are quiet hours so it's easy to go to bed and not be disturbed. The staff is super helpful and accommodating. The price was great for a bed there and that also allows you to go to the soaking pool which was an absolute blast! Perfect place for a girls weekend!
The Hotel was great, the room was clean and great,
Everyone was nice but the biggest problem was with the Black rabbit front line staff was disrespectful at best. I had asked the waitress about a stake and her answer was if it s on the list we have it and walk away. The hostess was way to much fun to come out of the bar from talking to the bartender about her life. The black rabbit restaurant has more junk food on it than good food.
Came to Edge field on a sunny day to play the short golf course and have lunch. The golf is very fun and informal, you just get a pitching wedge and Putter and all the holes are about 60 yards. Also pretty inexpensive, a dollar per hole.
We started at the loading dock grill, an outside eating area where we had drinks that we're good and standard McMenamins food, which was good. We turn walked the beautiful grounds and stopped at Jerry's ice House which had an awesome atmosphere. After Jerry's we went to the pool hall in the basement which was awesome and had a few more drinks. Then we went the the concert, where check in was fast and getting through the lines to get food and drinks was short. The concert was well staffed and the show was awesome.
Cozy atmosphere with a great selection of food and drinks. Gets a little busy at peak time and service suffers a little, but still well worth the trip!
Relaxation, musing, art, spa, foodie, spirits, seasons, concerts, soaking pools, pitch&putt, wine tastings, glass blowing, gardens, historic photography and architecture, brewery, Oregonian history. Those are a few of the reasons to visit Edgefield.
Why is the food so horrible? In the heart of one of the best food cities in the country, there is no excuse. The most lovely genuine servers imaginable and the saddest food in Portland.
Food was delicious and the staff was very friendly.
Great atmosphere. Pretty scenery. Good food and drinks.
Love this place. Soaking pool was so much fun!!!! Definitely worth staying here to enjoy it love their lovely margaritas. My favorite ever. Wine is the best. Cuvee hey!!!!!!
Nice atmosphere. Food was just ok. Really nothing to write home about. Interesting layout and design of buildings though.
I had the worst experience ever!!!! had my baby via c section two month ago and body has been in so much pain! I looked forward to coming to soak in the pool and called prior to arriving. I was not staying the night and I told them that!
I drive 1 hour from forest grove to a family member who was able to watch my son that way my husband and I could go out! When we arrive I ask to pay for the passes just for them to tell me they don t do that! I explain that I just dropped my son off to eat and have a good time and they tell me they can t provide that unless I get my eyebrows done!
I am so upset and stressed out because I work so much and had a hard delivery so this outing was the first real night out for me and my husband! I almost cried out of frustration. But then we decide we re just going to eat then, but their dining room is closed!!!!!!! And the bar menus only offered a few little items!!! I was done and just got up and left! And I am usually not rude but as new parents we really needed this time! Also from someone who suffers from an autoimmune disease and I am in chronic pain I really desired this time in the pool. I will never return to this place again! Their was NOTHING THEY PROVIDED THAT MADE US FEEL LIKE THEY CARED!!!!!
everything great except children in pool areas that should have been adult only I'm a parent and there's only the pool for children so take them to a water park not a bar
I have to give your staff an A+! Always kind, funny, and helpful. Huge shout out to the bartender, Eric, at the bar under the hotel. He noticed when this guy was being weird and trying to buy us drinks and told us that if we had any more problems with that guy he, to say something and he would take care of it. Thank you Eric!
Fun place to stay although we didn't. Stopped by a few bars and listen Ed to music in the wine bar. Tried a 6 taste flight of wines for $10. And had our favorite glass. Beautiful garden and fun to walk around the grounds.
Service is painfully slow, we waited an hour to be seated on a Thursday evening, but the food is great.
Normally like going to the Edgefield, but last night's visit was less than great. First time at the theater. Had a drink while waiting to get into the theater, but was told we should wait to order food until in the theater. We were not able to go in 45 before the movie as told, so wound up standing in the hallway outside looking at a menu. Eventually we were seated and ordered. The food took so long to get there, I was served in the dark and was trying to figure out why it seemed I had a veggie patty instead of the meat I ordered. Luckily, it was just showing trailers... I had to get up in the dark and carry my food downstairs to get things straightened out... Which meant waiting even longer for my food order. Additionally, the audio is not very loud in the theater... I requested it be increased, but was told they are aware of the issue and it can't go any higher.
I will definitely go back, but never to the theater.
Did a lot of standing and waiting for a table. Finally left.
A really neat place to experience. Old buildings converted to Inn, Concerts, cool pool set up, different places to drink on the property kinda mini town. Bummer part is a shared common bathrooms if u don't get an in room bathroom.
Attended a wedding here recently and the experience was wonderful! The venue was beautiful, staff friendly, and catering/bar delicious!
Love this place! My favorite, hands down is the soaking pool.
I had a great meal with Kari and the Ruby Ale was good too.
Fantastic atmosphere nice to walk around enjoying historic features and Drinking great beer.
Great place to walk around drink or drinks and have a nice fire to sit by
Good food, excellent atmosphere. A little pricey but worth it.
Fabulous gift shop and classic bar. Great place to get a beer and explore the vast historic grounds while you enjoy it. Ask for a map and check out the location info on the reverse side
We always have a great time at Edgefield. The food is delicious and the people are so friendly.
Awesome vacation spot. It is like going back in time! This resort has the perfect blend of nature and comfort. The spa is pricey but the massage was good. The food and drinks are all priced well for the level of quality (most ingredients are local and organic.) Live music in the winery every night was a nice touch. Will visit again.
Such a great place for shows! Always look forward to this summer venue.
It was fine but I cant drink so it wasnt the most eventual night
Attended a concert on the lawn, coming in was excellent and organized, but trying to find my car in the dark and chaos was a total nightmare. Pay close attention to where you park!! Otherwise, the concert space was lovely, staff was friendly and really helpful, and had a great experience overall.
Edgefield is great! It has some of the issues that most McMenamins share (slightly overpriced, hit-and-miss service), but overall it's an enjoyable experience to spend a couple of nights. The pitch and put golf and the soaking pool are the real highlights, and both are excellent. The rooms are fine, but are definitely designed to encourage you to get out and explore the grounds (no TV, most have no private bathrooms, etc). Very fun place for adults!
The bartender at Lucky's is awesome. I highly recommend a visit.
I've seen Alabama Shakes and Anderson Paak here, and wow what a venue on a beautiful summer day! Tots and a mcmenamins beer never will go wrong!
I always come here to grab dinner for my birthday with friends. Love the variety of things to do here.
Fun Place, Great Restaurants and
Love My "Ruby Beer"
One of my favorite places in the world!
Have stayed here over a dozen times - never disappointed. Never gets old.
The soaking tub is my personal paradise! Woohoo!
Great beers, great cocktails, and a fun little par 3 course for any age! Only 4 out of 5 because a lot of menu items are hit or miss. Easily the best Mcmenamins location hands down!
Went to see a movie in the power station theater. Great venue. I'd recommend the balcony seats. Much more intimate.
Been here a number of times and keep coming back for a reason! Little spendy (but not ridiculous, especially for the quality) but worth it. Gonna have to spend the night out here sometime and get the full experience!
Went there on a spontaneous getaway for 1 night ,just what the dr ordered !
Saw Steve Miller Band concert on the lawn. No restroom access while we were waiting in line for 2 hours in 95 deg sun. Not great security as people were passing joints along the line. Got through ticket area easily, found space on the lawn easily with an okay view. Plenty of restrooms inside. Paid $6 for a piece of cold pizza after waiting 25 minutes in line.
I love this location because it is in my opinion the best outdoor food and Music space with an attached hotel, restaurant brewery and distillery. Check out the Ghost log, add to it if you have an experience. Concerts are amazing here as there are plenty of vendor booths, atm machines, and porta potties. The parking is free a sucks to get out, so blast your music.
Just a fun place all around. Summer concerts are great here at the outdoor amphitheatre. You can play a round of golf, catch a movie, or just go bar hopping right there on the grounds.
Comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Great drinks, food and staff. Soaking pool was lovely. Looking forward to our next visit.
One of the best McMenamins locations, tons of great stuff here
Beautiful surroundings, exquisite gardens, quaint little buildings that house the cutest bars, breweries, and wine room. We spent most of the afternoon and evening there. It was absolutely lovely!
First time there and it was really cool even with Covid and social distancing
Nice place but hard to believe they can't afford an air conditioner, why anyone would have a wedding here I don't understand. Everyone was dripping sweat and miserable by 8 and most left at 9
4 stars because I love McMenamins. The only thing is that it is always a hit or miss here. Service and food wait times are all over the spectrum. One time amazing, the next not so much. But the venue and variety of spots are why I keep going back.
Saw Star Wars at the Power Station theater and it was awesome! Eating a bacon cheeseburger while having your favorite beverage and watching a movie is cinematic bliss.
Had a ton of fun on the patio. Great ambiance. The patio staff is in training (and you can tell) but uber friendly! Great food and perfect to bring the dogs out for lunch and dinner!
We love the property and the drinks. Got married here even in 2016, and we visit regularly. We aren't big fans of the menu or food, but it's a great place to visit with lots to see and do!
Awesome staff who is willing to go the extra mile for everyone. The spa is amazing. So easy to have everything in 1 place, ALSO... pet friendly. 100% win.
Beautiful space, incredible artwork, and stunning landscape. I love it every time I visit this place.
Great food, great room, excellent soaking pool offering both privacy and drinks. Living in Portland it's difficult to justify staying somewhere so close, but it was worth it and we'd do it again!
I love going here. So many little places to check out, and it's really great place to hang out with friends. Each place has different drinks and sometimes food. Awesome little gardens, fire pits, and more! I can't wait to actually stay over night at their hotel, and check out their pool!
Luckie's pool house was great. Games, drinks and food. So much fun
So unique and beautiful. A really great experience all around!
Had our Christmas dinner at the Black Rabbit Restaurant. On our way we looked online & discovered it is said to be haunted. So after dinner me & my 9 yr old had a great time exploring the halls!
Went with my father for some golf. Played the 20-hole course, which was very fun. Also, the food at the main building was quite good.
Seriously awesome night! We got a hotel room great fun just seriously the beds I felt every coil on my body replace the mattresses !
The Black Rabbit restaurant was delicious! I had the tuna it was to die for! The service is awesome, the atmosphere is relaxed and the people are approachable and very helpful. The SPA is amazing as well. LOVE this place cant wait to go back. The summertime concerts are supposed to fun too. If you have never been don't bother getting all dressed up jeans and a decent shirt will be acceptable, the place is very low key and is fun if your a couple or in a large group. There are several bars and wine tasting areas over the campus, gardens glass blowing, golf course and lots of hidden treasures to see. We have already booked another stay in September 2014 Girls weekend. We didn't stay in the hotel because it was booked, but the staff made you feel like a guest no matter where you were or where you slept. It is a very romantic place to go the grounds are low lit at night and it is very fun. You are close to shopping and other activities as well.
Great place for an afternoon/evening of walking around, eating, drinking beer/wine/cocktail, chip/putt golf, and music.
It is an okay place to go if it is for one or two nights. Really bad place to go with kids because there is nothing to do for kids, not even TV.
Historic hotel and restaurants. Feels very English, including the lack of climate control!
The crown jewel of McMenamins. This place is awesome!
