McMenamins Edgefield Reviews

We went to McMenamins Edgefield last night for their advertised Oktoberfest event. Although we arrived by 6:30 pm, they were sold out of all of their German food. There was a pop/rock band playing at the Loading Dock stage, a folk singer in the Wine Cellar and when we checked the Red Shed at 8:00, everyone had packed up and left that area. With no German food or music this "Oktoberfest" was a joke. We did see one guy wearing lederhosen and that was the only sign of an Oktoberfest that we saw.

The atmosphere was fun and a beautiful location but the food was not great. My burger was dry and lacked flavor.

I love Edgefield! We've had so many special events there.

This place is cool, rooms don't have restrooms or showers which is a pain, it's also pretty pricey, you pay for the feel of the hotel. Fun bars and decent food, rooms could be cleaner and no elevators.

Me and my family ate at the restaurant here. Food was great my only big complaint was I recieved the bill before I even received my dessert. Made me feel very awkward waiting. The grounds are beautiful I will be making a trip back to enjoy the rest of the place. Will probably just get a burger next time.

Make sure you walk around the grounds and check out the garden, wine tasting hut, and glass blowing shop. When it's cool, it's nice to sit outside under a heat lamp or by the fire. The food is great. Edgefield is a fantastic brunch spot. They also have a tasty yearly Thanksgiving buffet.

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign. Sure are a lot of rules for a Bohemian joint. Great concept, but relax a bit.

I love this place!!! It has such Character, and a real destination. There is always something happening. Love the heated lazy river pool late at night.

Expensive. Not great food selection in the outside area either.

Great atmosphere! The food was fantastc, and the beer was top notch.

Black Rabbit breakfast was amazeballs. The French toast was delicious. Dinner at Power Station Pub pepperoni, pineapple and jalapeno pizza was very tasty. Drinks at all the places were very delicious!!!!

This place is amazing. Always something to do and see. You'll never get bored. Spring and summer here are the best time with the beautiful grounds in bloom.

A great place to hangout with friends and family. Lots to explore inside & out.

Went to the power station for lunch. It took about 40 minuets to receive our food and our appetizer came after our entrees. Food was acceptable. They did not bill us for the appetizer to compensate for the excessive wait time which was appropriated.

Go for the beer, stay for an adventure. Wonderful place to meet friends, business associates or a great date night.

Golf, concerts, movies, wine and more. What more do you need all within staggering distance.

Went to see Vance Joy concert yesterday. Wonderful food and drinks and perfect experience and atmosphere. Parking coming in and leaving was very organized. The whole event was organized. Perfect. Will definitely be back.

Great food, amazing drinks, and artwork that will take your breath away.

Fun place to go with friends very open lots of room to hang out and wall around food service a little on slow side but they give you a heads up about that

You can easily spend a day here playing golf, drinking beers/wine/cocktails, soaking in the incredible warm pool, seeing a movie, getting a massage, seeing a concert, watching glass blowers, and tons more, then stay the night in one of their unique, cozy rooms!!

Wow! So much going on in one place! An amazing historical site with restaurants, bars, poolhall, live music, gardens, a library and hotel! The oddest wall and door art that I have ever seen. We were there for a group event that was catered so the food was served in heating trays buffet style.

Went to movie and drinks at the Power Station. Drinks and service was great. Noise level for a theatre was a little loud from outside noises.

Wish I had more time and money. Worth the perusal. Nice gardens and grounds and beers and staff. I always try to see everything on a mcminnemans property and consistently fail, but have fun trying.

Be fully aware. No A/C. My room was at least 10 degrees hotter than outside. And outside was almost 80 degrees. I tried everything to cool it down. And a super.. strong terpentine -like smell in the hallway and room. I checked out at 10:30pm, same day I checked in. Sweating and with a headache.

Great place to stay! The pool area is very clean and pretty! The staff were friendly, professional and welcoming.

Awesome place a must stop if in the area. They brew one of the best beer in town.

Great food and beer selection! A must stop if you are headed back for dinner after a day in the gorge. The tater tots are a must try!

Service was not too dast, but for good reason because the place was packed. I loved the food, and was worthe the wait.

Hotel was great. Had trouble getting the outlets to hold phone chargers so we had the desk charge our phones while we ate dinner.

The winery is awesome, great tasting, good music on the night we stayed. Service in the winery was a little stiff. Not the friendliest bunch. The Power Station pub had good food with vegan options so we grabbed some and took it to the winery for the music (which is allowed).

The grounds were very nice, the room rates reasonable. We enjoyed the heated soaking pool, though it was not quite as warm as I would have hoped! Ruby's Spa was a great way to end the trip. Friendly and very professional. Getting a foot massage at 11am with a chilled glass of Edgefield white rabbit was an amazing start to the day!

Was at edgefield this weekend & loved it. As always, great food & great service!

A great McMenamins location fantastic staff nice soaking pool quite a few bars! And great food. I can't wait till I can come back

The service was prompt, the food was good and the tables were clean.

Beautiful grounds and the food was amazing. The hotel is definitely haunted too so that was pretty cool. The staff was super friendly and the rooms were clean and really interesting. There are dozens of paintings on the doors and walls. Some of them are super spooky.

I love this place, go-to when having friends in town.

Over the years I've seen some awesome concerts here, had plenty of meals, and even got married in 2017 in The Attic and stayed the night in the main hotel. The food is your standard mcmenamins fare, but the grounds are beautiful. The outdoor area they use for concerts is great.

Went with friends to play a short round of golf, and hangout. It's nice being able to drink as you go. Afterwards we ate at the black rabbit. One of the things I like about the black rabbit menu is that the dishes change depending on what's in the garden.

Lots to do..wonderfully historic and amazing gardens with a short family golf course a theater, and good but expensive food

Went there for the Inaugural Brewfest and it was amazing! I loved the setup of having the lawn to sit on and the beer tents around the perimeter. I've been to a lot of beer fests and this bay far was one of the most enjoyable.

Always a fun and crazy time. Just remember it's usually always super busy. So just have patience and everything will be great.

Played 9 holes of "golf". Was fun and not too hard.

Super cute and spooky little place with a ton of character and history. There is a delicious restaurant here called Black Rabit too and it's amazing! I go there frequently.

It's phenomenal. Staff! all of them could not be nicer. I love it. This place is the bomb.

Edgefield is amazing! The staff makes this a place to get away from the stress of everyday life. The food and drinks were delicious as always. Relaxing in the soaking pool was heavenly. Exploring the nooks and crannies of the resort always brings new discoveries. We have made staying at Edgefield a twice a year adventure for over 15 years and plan on continuing this tradition for many years to come.

Good food, but the atmosphere does it for me. Old buildings beautifully restored.

The concert venue was beautiful and intimate and the food and alcohol were very reasonable compared to most other venues.

Give yourself plenty of time to explore. Enjoy the bath and the grounds. Get a drink. Eat some food. Catch a concert. Do the things. This place feels pretty Oregon. It's good stuff.

Great campus, unlimited beer wine and cocktail selection. Food is your staple type of menu, not bad not exceptional. Amenities there are top notch

So much to see and do here. Love this little getaway oasis.

Outdoor seating was crowded and the food wasn't very impressive. I didn't try the drinks but that seemed to be the best part from everyone else's comments so it may require drinking to enjoy.

Over the top place to stay and drink and wander. If you are coming from out of town make sure to have 2 full days to explore and experience the property

Outdoor patio was pretty full given it was such a nice day out. So after a wee drink at the distillery, we opted for sharing some dishes at the Power Station. The tuna salad sandwich was tasty, but the pub poutine was barely palettable. The fries were burnt. The gravy was runny and sparse. The cheese curds were few and far between. Any of those being right could have saved some aspect of it, which made it more disappointing.

McMenanmins is an amazing place. So many things to rave about! I love the bedrooms and wandering the halls in a robe. The numerous bars and restaurants mean that you can eat drink and be merry all around the grounds. We visited for a golf tournament and it was such a fun weekend.

Wonderful place! Can be the best place for just about any get together or event. That being said ... Sometimes it's so busy and you wait so long for service it actually turns into one of the least favorable experiences

I have been going to Edgefield since I was a kid. I love everything about this place! The hotel, the movie theater, the live music in the summer, the spa and soaking pool, all the different places to get and order food, the different porches you can sit and read on. I have celebrated many birthdays here, I took my senior pictures here, I watched a friend s proposal here. This place is STILL one of my favorite places to go to even though I live in Beaverton now!
However, I took off 1-Star because I love everything about this place... except the food poisoning that I ve had the last 3 times I ve gone. Strangely enough I talked to 2 other people who d also gone here (and a different McMenamins) and they also had food poisoning. The only food item we all ate in common were their Cajun tots. Sooo I m not sure if the recipe changed? But I probably won t be eating here the next time I m in Troutdale. The tots are kinda ruined for me now, and apparently I m not the only one.

We had large group banquet. Food was excellent service was superb.

Friendly staff great prices hope they can open the soaking pool soon
