I came here last weekend with my husband and his best friend for dinner!
Although we did not make a reservation, the hostess was very kind and seated us quickly! Our server was amazing (I wish I remembered his name). He was very attentive and knowledgeable with the items on the food and drinks menu.
Thank you for the great recommendation for steak AND my red wine!

BEWARE the McKendrick's RIP-OFF. I had lunch there for the first and last time yesterday. In addition to ordering the large filet, I asked the waiter if they had any lobsters because none were on the menu. After checking, he said they had some half pounders and a one pounder and I ordered the one pounder knowing that a one pound lobster is mostly shell and not much meat. When I received the bill, the charge for just the one pound lobster was $100.00 and this was at lunch, not dinner! I asked the waiter if that was a mistake and he said no, so I asked to see the manager. She reaffirmed that was the price and when I asked her why the waiter didn't warn me of the outrageous overcharge before I ordered it, she said he didn't because some patrons get offended by a heads up because they think it implies that the patron might not be able to afford it. A desperate response and pure nonsense because I don't know anyone, regardless of how wealthy they might be, who would be offended by a waiter alerting them to a $100.00 cost for a one pound lobster at lunch. On that theory, I'm not sure why McKendrick s has any prices at all on their menu because everything is expensive or why in almost every other restaurant, the waiter announces the price of any special items being offered that day without any prompting or inquiry by the patron, regardless of their net worth. I then asked to see the chef who very matter of factly said that was the price and he was off. Not once did anyone offer an apology. I looked at McKendrick's menu online and saw that on their dinner menu, they have a lobster appetizer for $17.95 and they have lobster tails (plural) for $59.95, almost half as much as the $100.00 one pounder at lunch. Apparently, at dinner, the restaurant is not concerned that they will offend any of their patrons by letting them know the cost of lobster by printing the price on the menu or maybe they figure that $59.95 for lobster tails (plural) at dinner isn t quite the rip-off of $100.00 for a single one pounder at lunch. The good news is that McKendrick's may not be running this scam for much longer. My experience has been that when a restaurant resorts to this sort of desperation, it s usually because it s going under and trying anything to stay afloat. My advice would be to stay away.

We had the NY Strip and Au Gratin Potatoes. It was good, but it wasn't great. It was a little salty and seemed pricey for the quality of food.

Our family's go-to restaurant for special occasions and holidays. I love the stone crabs in season and the steaks are the best in Atlanta. We usually have fried lobster to start and share 2 - 3 sides dishes. You will not be disappointed.

Made my food wrong. Told me to just add salt and pepper. Refused to remake. Walked out. Never going back.

Expensive, but what do you expect from one of Atlantas best steakhouses. Food was great, as always, and portions are sharable. My go to place for anniversaries. My wife loves it, and they do an exceptional job at making you feel special.

The food, ambience and service was great. We was celebrating our anniversary and we had a nice peaceful evening.

8oz fillet and sides (went with garlic spinach and au gratin potatoes) are perfect. Medium rare steak was cooked perfectly and was super tender.

My husband and I went here for New Years and it was such a wonderful experience. Very comfortable booth seats, nice atmosphere, and the food was amazing. Staff is always very professional and welcoming. We ve been back a couple times since then. Highly recommend for a romantic evening or nice family dinner.

We were a larger party, but had a reservation and were all well behaved. Apps, dinner, and drinks ran about $125 pp in a large group inc tip.

Service was exemplary. The wait staff were 100% on top of drinks, including topping up water. Orders were taken efficiently and accurately from drinks to apps to dinner to dessert. No one looked for anything that the staff didnt almost instantly provide. I've been here a few times, from solo to a 20+ group, and had consistently amazing service.

But...something went south in their kitchen since my last visit which was 5-stars. When one person says their steak is ... cold, it's a fluke. When they say something and another person pipes up and then a third? No, that's a problem in the kitchen. If a high end and expensive steakhouse can't consistently get a simple rare steak right they have work to do before I'd consider rating them better than 'mediocre'. Sadly, they're more than capable of making good, even amazing, food but need to deliver that consistently given what a typical meal costs.

Wasn't bad but wasn't great either. My steak was good but my wife's salmon was subpar. Garlic mash great, onion rings good, au gratin average. Reasonably priced for a high end steak house.

I was there for the first time last night, not only was our meal excellent, But so was the service. When you stop in I recomend that you ask for Evan Jennings. He provided phenominal service!

Wow.. This place is top notch! if you are going for a special occasion this my be on your list.. prices are def. $$$$ and it is family style but the food and wait staff are great! NY was perfect and tasted awesome...

Equsite steaks, melts in your mouth like butter. Really enjoyed the sides, brussel sprouts and cream spinach were excellent. Wait staff was very attentive as well.

The food was really good, but service left a lot to be desired. Our waiter was very slow. A few times we weren't sure if she was still working or left for the night. Eventually we got through it.

Family owned. We used OpenTable for a reservation to celebrate a birthday. Everything was delicious and the entire staff worked together to make sure that it was a great experience. They will even repost your instagram story to their page if you tag them in your post! Try the lobster mac&cheese!

Out of baked potatoes on a Friday night. Steak not a great cut - sloppy looking. Service slow. Still can't beat Bones or Chops.

This place was very dated, an the food was too,as you can see the Caesar dressing horrible.

I frequent this excellent restaurant from time to time because I love the special atmosphere that is unique to this place. The crew is extremely cordial and qualified. The service is exceptionally quick. Needless to say, the food you eat is magnificent. I came more than once and I was always satisfied. The payment is decent. I recommend this place to all my friends.

My party of six visited this restaurant last night and it was a disaster. The noise level was unprecedented and I noted one guest complaining about it and requesting that his party be moved as a result. The lobster bisque tasted terrible and could not be eaten. I wasn't the only one at the table that ordered this dish and was disappointed. I should have noted the problem with the abundance of cream that was dumped into the dish to hide the poor taste. I have had lobster bisque on many occasions and had never tasted anything so poorly prepared. The dish presented a weird taste that I couldn't put my finger on. The main course was steak and jumbo prawns which were also a disappointment. I requested that my steak be prepared well done it was delivered to the table rare. One of our other guests also had to return her steak to be prepared properly. The side dishes lobster mashed potatoes and lobster mac were cold. My wife's escargot had sand in it which points to preparation not being proper for the dish. I will never visit this restaurant again and will advise friends and family to stay clear of this place. If your wondering what the disaster/disappointment cost me $184.61 and yes I tipped our waiter who was the only part of the dinner which we enjoyed. Nothing the waiter could have done to fix the issues in the kitchen but he tried.

While I'm not a steak person I have to say they exceeded my expectations. The ambience and atmosphere was superb...the food cooked to perfection...the service was exceptional and the drinks...oo'lala!!! Try it once and you'll be hooked!!

Marcus was our waiter. He recommended the bone in filet, brussel sprouts, and macaroni and cheese. Supper was phenomenal. All of their desserts are made in house. We got the key lime pie....OMGooooodness!! We WILL be returning.

Wonderful steaks and even better service. Our server was great and sold us on a few items and his advice was well worth it! You can tell he enjoyed his job! The steak was cooked wonderfully and the sides were all yummy!

I discide to try Mckendrick Steak house so i ordered the crab cake and the appatizer with the crab cake,crab and the shimp pick up my food the customer service was amazing got home that's when it all went down hill.The appatizer was packed great but when I opened up the crab cake the lid was not on the sauce it was just sitting to the side and when the male brought me my order he should have checked it or whoever box this order should have put the lid on it was a mess in that box.So I work overnight so I was mad and also no food

The service is excellent! The bar staff is very personable. The food was amazing my steak was cooked to perfection. The seafood was fresh and very tasty.

Very nice place with great service. Everything we ordered was delicious except for the lamb chops. They first came out very salty, which when we told the waiter he took care of it and bought another one. The lamb chops smelled very bad. My husband said it tasted ok but when he got home he felt unwell. Dont order the lamb chops. They comped our dessert for the salty lamb chops so that was nice.

Attention to detail is superb, food is always perfect, and service is fantastic.

So mixed feelings here..great ambience, love the South African lobster...service was great...the ribeye was not as flavourful as you expect and had too much hard fat in there...i would not recommend it...brussel sprouts were awesome...i would give it another shot ...

Very nice place. Felt very well taken care of by the team of servers and staff.

The desert was the most memorable item. The steaks we ordered were poorly prepared and the other food was adequate at best. It was Saturday night so I am not sure whether the Din of the place is usually so high. My lady and I were at a table for two and we could barely communicate across the table without shouting. I will say the place looks really good so we were deceived when we came in that it was going to be a pleasant atmosphere. I have to say that Jeff (waiter) was fantastic and took very good care of us even though the meal was a disappointment. There are other upscale restaurants that provide a better attention to details.

Paul is the Best in the ATL, food is also Really good, always ask for Paul's Station.

Missed orders and ignorant service. The quality of the cuts of meat were excellent which redeemed the experience.

Food and the drinks were great. Steak was cooked exactly as requested and that in itself is a win. The service was wonderful and we were seated with empty tables between ours and the next guests (social distancing of course). Would definitely recommend!

This has been my favorite dining experience at any restaurant I've ever been too. The food here is amazing, he drink selection is great, but what really made them stand out was the staff. We were quickly greeted upon entering and quickly sat with water immediately filled. Our waitor really made this the best dining experience. He was very down to earth, while remaining extremely professional and elegant. He knew the entire menu front to back and never hesitated or stumbled on any questions asked. Refreshingly honest as well, when asked what he liked he gave an answer that consisted of his favorites as well as things he didn't like as much. In doing this he never managed to make it seem like there was anything bad on the menu, just made it apparent what his favorites were. Gave us great recommendations, which in turn ended up being some of the best food I've eaten. 10/10 I would recommend this place to any and everyone
