Amazing steak one of the best in Atlanta. Nice atmosphere very attentive service. Appetizers were ok very expensive and not shareable. We came with a big party and had our own private room. The vegetables were very large portions very bland and asparagus and Brussel sprouts very overcooked. We still had a very nice experience but for the price point all of the menu should be impeccable. Brad was our waiter and very knowledgeable on cocktails and steak choices.

Anyone with a problem with McKendricks is probably a food snob with a palate that couldn't distinguish flan from Frosted Flakes. The South African Lobster Tail, Crab Cakes, Med-Rare Porterhouse, Garlic Mashed Potatos, Grilled Asparagus Spears are must haves, just be sure to specify no char

Best steaks and lobsters I have ever had. I always love dining here. They also have the best appetizers, sides and drinks. Three words "lobster mashed potatoes". Always professional service.

The steak changed my life. By far the greatest steak I have ever eaten. Trust me, just go there and eat a steak. And the parmesan fries... If I walked outside and got hit by a bus right after, I'd have died happy.

Awesome stone crab claws, fresh oysters and filet! Jeff, our waiter was very helpful. Great service. My husband says it is THE best steak in Atlanta. I like seafood and I have always been very happy. Highly recommended this place.

Bone-In Ribeye, Porterhouse melts in your mouth. The Lobster Bisque is divine; the portion is a little small for me but the rest of the meal makes up for that. Great fine dining atmosphere and you cannot go wrong with any of the menu choices. One of my favorite places to get great food...a great steak.

Service was great food was awesome the only complain was that I got up from my table to take on a call then a lady approached me then later on I came to find out it was mrs mckendricks with a bossy tone that I needed to hand up the phone that I wasn't allowed to use my phone on the restaurant I looked at her like what are you talking about then she says oh you are a customer I said yes ma'am then she said oh kept on walking then said to someone close by oh my
Just because I looked Hispanic doesn't mean I work there and she needs to change her attitude or the way she approaches people I understand she is the owner but she needs better customer service skills

This food was spot on. Definitely worth the price. Salmon was cooked PERFECTLY. WOW! Didn't realize just how high class this place was. I was a little under dressed. Will be back with tie asking for more salmon.

Good quality food, and the steaks were well-seasoned and cooked. However, I am appalled by the service and the prices, and left the restaurant feeling swindled. To explain, I took a group of customers to McKendrick's for dinner. The steaks on the menu range from $30 to $60 (without sides). I think this is reasonable for a business dinner. Yet our waiter told us they had a special on tomahawk steaks that night, and gave us a really pushy sales pitch on them. Before ordering, I even clarified with him, "I've seen tomahawks be huge, expensive cuts meant to be split by 2 people. Is that what these are?" And he responded "No, ours are smaller and meant for 1 person." So, everyone orders the special. When the bill comes, I was charged $118 per steak! That's DOUBLE the price of the most expensive steak on the menu! When something is that incommensurate with the rest of the menu, I think the waiter should give you a heads up. To make matters worse, when we were leaving the restaurant, the waiter told my customers the price of the steaks: "you should thank that guy, he just bought you all $118 steaks." They felt horrible for ordering such an expensive meal, and like me, expected the special to at least be in the same range as the rest of the menu. I found it to be unfair and thought our wait staff was truly unprofessional. We also saw a waiter chug wine out of a water glass at the waiter's station! (Which was near our table). I learned my lesson to always ask the exact price of the special, and I also learned my lesson to never return to McKendrick's.

Over priced for level of service. Spoke to the manager- didn't think his response was acceptable.
Received a call from the manager and she was very concerned . I believe our experience was a rare event.

When I arrived it was 830 and I believe the restaurant closed at 9. At first, I thought we were too late. But to my surprise we were able to get a table and the service was excellent. Even though we were the last party there, we weren't rushed and the food was excellent. I will definitely be back. I love the atmosphere!

One of the best steaks I have EVER had.
Very elegant. The service was outstanding. It is on the pricey side (~$44-$68 just for a steak, ~$9 for a side, ~$12 for a salad), but WOW what a great steak. This is a casual business or better atmosphere...upscale.

I can just had the best brussel sprouts I have ever had my life... Everything I've had here has been outstanding... I highly recommend the Bone In Ribeye, Scallops, and Lobster Mashed Potatoes. The service is superb...our waitress stopped by our table to say hi and church on us even though we were not at her table. Love this place...

McKendrick's is by far the best steakhouse I've been to in Atlanta. The food is amazing and you get what you pay. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were absolutely delicious. The service was also outstanding and friendly...a fun environment that's not stuffy! Definitely going back!

My husband and I visited this establishment for the first time tonight because we wanted to try a new steakhouse in the area. The manager was extremely nice when came in the door so we thought we were in for a great night ; however, that was ruined by our waiter amber. She walked passed us on 5 different occasions and did not acknowledge that we were even there. I had to get up to get the correct drink and even after that, she still continued to attend to all of the tables around us without saying a word to us. After continuing to be ignored we decided to leave. We will continue to go to Capital Grill from now on where they treat EVERYONE with equal respect.

GREAT

From the moment I picked up the phone to make a reservation to the end of dinner, everything was just perfect. It's not everyday you have an experience that meets all your expectations. From the host to the waiters, everyone was very friendly and attentive. As for the steaks, we got the NY Strip and Bone in Ribeye paired with red wine. Both were flavorful and had their own distinct taste which surprised me. My guest and I thoroughly enjoyed this exquisite dining experience. Thanks!

I had the bone in ribeye, the crab and lobster bisque, with the wild mushroom risotto.

The lobster and crab bisque was creamy, elegant, and perfectly seasoned tableside with black pepper by my extremely polite and knowledgeable waiter.

The risotto was one of the richest foods I've ever eaten in my life. I am surprised I didn't slip into a coma after 3 bites. Absolutely excellent but definitely something to share with a large group.

The ribeye was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Everything was as expected and I was more than satisfied. Definitely recommend.

I ordered the chefs cut bone in ribeye which is a prime cut. I ordered it med. because their standards call for a warm red center. It came well done destroyed. The offered to cook me another but my GFs steak was acceptable not perfect. So I settled because it s awkward for one person to eat while another waits. I did not want to make her feel bad. They offered desserts on the house which we ordered their version of apple pie to share. When they brought it to us they apologized for being out of vanilla ice cream which they replaced with a very minty chocolate chip that did not pair at all with the pie.

Great Steak everytime! I ordered the fillet and it was like cutting butter. I also want to try the bone in rib eye. The wait staff was very friendly. I mentioned the steaks but the sides are wonderful too. They come on a separate dish and are ideal to pass around and share because portions are so big. The mushrooms are cooked to perfection and large. I don't normally like corn but the corn dish was quite tasty. My fav side was the grilled asparagus. Can't go wrong there.

The McKendrick's 12oz filet is the best steak I have found. I have eaten steak all over the world but in my opinion nothing compares. Best steak in Atlanta and I have yet to find a better one anywhere else.

Nobody likes to be taken advantage off. Their 8 oz petite filet is 48 bucks. A side at least 8 bucks. So the waiter offered their " Special". A 6 oz filet with a side. Sure, sounded great we thought....what you think, 39 bucks or 45? He never mentioned a price. My bad I should have asked...when the bill came he charged us $75.00 each! What a ripp off! And I was hungry after the small meal...add the fact their wine by the glass list was limited. I let the waiter choose my Cab. The 20 bucks glass was no good. U think he offered a new glass or anything? Nope...blamed me for wanting a Cab....One knows these places are expensive. I get that. But it's these reasons they go out of business....avoid when you can. Spend your 220 bucks for two somewhere else....

If you have resd one of my reviews before, you would know I am not a big fan of wet aged meat. I just think dry aged meat yeild better tasting steaks. However, this place porterhouse was very good and grilled to near perfection. And, they took care of us. S o, if you do not have that aged budget then this is the place for you.

Great food and service, but I'm not really interested in paying $50/+ for a steak (plus sides are sold a la carte.) I understand that you pay for the service and the experience, which is why if I spend $$$ (that doesn't even include the wine!) to treat someone I'd like more than steak and sides in a dimly lit restaurant. Plenty of other steakhouses that are more "enjoyable" (i.e., fogo de chao).

Side note: I will be honest and admit that I have had dreams about their lobster mac and cheese!

Pretty good steakhouse and a staple of Atlanta for many years. It is a bit pricey for the quality, but I definitely recommend it for the occasional treat.

The steak is cooked well and the sides are delicious. You will not regret going here.

First time for my husband's birthday and what a treat it was. The steaks were cooked perfectly, juicy and slightly crispy. The sides were flavorful and filling. We are adding this restaurant to our favorites list. The service is 5 start with as well. Genuine and considerate.
