With approximately 20 min. walk from Dublin city center area, the Grand Canal hotel is not so near and ideal for planning to have that location as starting point for your visit to there, but in case you will visit the Google buildings, you are on the right spot - with just around 300 m away from main Google buildings, the hotel offer a perfect location for those who have or wish to go there.
Hotel is otherwise cosy, with rooms that are offering standard modern environment with bathtubes possibility and welcome tea/coffee set. The breakfast room environment and style is interesting and rather nice with very decent breakfast offer (in case you will not find something you wish, you may ask the staff members to bring you that - for toast you have to ask), and hotel has a 24 hour working reception with small lobby and bar on the oposite side. There are two elevators in the building and daily newspapers are available for hotel guests at the reception.
All around, the hotel present a decent option if you need to go to Google buildings or if you do not mind walking (or taking the bus) to Dublin city center ; some bars, restaurants and food stores can be found around hotela area, but the choice is not so motley.

We stayed there for a couple of days and whilst the restaurant staff were pleasant enough the breakfasts good the reception staff were not very helpful to a colleague of mine where there been a mistake with the booking and he ended up having to find another hotel!

Good location if you're looking to attend the rugby at Lansdowne Road and the bedrooms and bathrooms are well appointed.

I love this hotel. It was above all expectations. Beat the crowne plaza in Harrogate quite easily as they had a coffee pod machine in the room and still had a kettle so that I could make tea or hot chocolate. Even the tea selection is refreshing.
You can leave luggage here if you arrive early and go for a wonder, or just chill in the lounge, or pop into the Gasworks which has internal connection to the hotel which is great considering how windy and cold it was during our stay.

They have a Canal Express to order drinks, food and snacks and sit in their comfortable and lovely lounge which has a lot of comfy chairs to choose from or sit in your room. The room I was in was great. See pics. They have thought of eveything, from comfy robe to slippers and toiletries in case you forgot something AND towels were so soft, which is more than some 5 stars I've been in, hence my rating.
You won't be disappointed as the room is well decorated to make it look like a home away from home, but with a bigger bed and comfy pillows (

Lovely experience. my partner gave birth to our lovely healthy baby in holes street children s hospital. Only around the corner and the staff were lovely. Free parking and let me leave the car as long as I needed. The food was great and the room was spotless. Couldn t recommend theses lovely people enough thanks a million. They made a stressful time a lot easier.

Comfortable hotel where I stayed for 4 nights. About 15 minutes walk from the city center and 5 minutes from the canal area. Just outside the hotel is a pub and very close to the rugby stadium. Recommended.

- Nice & clean rooms, good quality breakfast, dinner & snack bar
- Biggest problem was the WiFi, it was too inconsistent and unreliable during the whole week. Unless this is fixed, I wouldn't recommend staying there (especially to business travellers)

Hotel was excellent and service top class from reception and breakfast also canalview staff very friendly and attentive. Make one comment on gasworks bar food dined there three evenings sampled different dishes all excellent with one exception, your steak leaves somewhat to be desired.
Pasta beautiful, fish top class.

Great hotel, lovely staff, good food but the only downside I could see is the area in the lobby where you can get a drink and some snacks, too many staff standing round not serving people in the queue x

Comfortable beds, not noise, bathroom ok. Old carpet still hotel but it's a no mistake to stay and don't bother about anything. Needs to improve the shower curtains and a fridge in the room.

Comfortable enough although some features are a bit dated (like the bathroom fixtures, the rusty rings on the shower curtain and the terrible smell in the hallways). The pillows felt like sacks of potatoes, would highly recommend to update them. Staff is friendly and helpful. The corp rates and location are practical, would not chose to return for a holiday I'm afraid.

It was Nice, as far as hotels go in Dublin, this one was more modern than most and covers all the needs. Really happy about the iron and ironing board as a standard in all rooms. Oh and the staff looked after personal requested really well!!

No additional outlets in room, very firm mattress, not very convenient to many attractions or transportation. This was by far the worst of the hotels we visited during our stay. If you are on a budget or low on money it's worth a stay.

While the staff is fairly nice, the hotel itself is a bit run down, mattresses don't offer proper support, ventilation in the bathroom is so noisy that it can be heard while sleeping, bathtub is loosing its coating, mediocre food...
Definitely not a 4-star hotel.

Nice hotel woth lots of food options. The Gasworks Galway bay brewery pub has lots of sports and screens - loads of drink options with a vast amount of good beers etc. The food in the gasworks ia good also. The hotel is 15 minute walk from Trinity and Baggot street so it is very handy. You can get a taxi very easy if needed. Clean and perfect for a trip to Dublin. Enjoy.

Most comfortable place we have stayed in Dublin. The Hotel was immaculate.
The staff were very efficient especially the Staff on at Breakfast. The Morning Manager in the Breakfast Dining area was so Brilliant at his job and went out of his way for everyone. His name was Niall Cunningham and did he give first class service at Breakfast. We will stay again in the not so distant future !!!

Difficult to figure out where to park, but otherwise a great establishment. Breakfast was good, and included local touches that the visitor (like myself) could try some new things while on a schedule. Staff was pleasant and efficient, even in the face of chaos (like a group of 50 students checking in together).
