Love this place in a small town. Food is awesome always trying different things. Friendly staff. And due to Smurfys Rules they far by exceed it.

Fun place with outdoor seating. My burger was delicious.

If you get shut out of Berlew's (although the last time I was THERE, their standards had seemed to have fallen way off) or any of the other eateries with water views, this Pub, with it's outdoor beer garden, is an excellent fallback solution - superior pub food and drink - if you can, opt for outdoors - the night I was last there, the karaoke inside could not be endured - service outdoors, workweek night, was lax

Great Place for Dinner, Drinks and meeting with Friends, Live Music was excellent and not so loud that you couldn't talk.

Was only there for a quick bite as my fam and I had time to kill btw wedding ceremony and reception on Sept 30th... Waiters were excellent and accommodated our large group... Food was pretty damn good and beer selection decent. It was a Sunday afternoon, so as expected, it was pretty crowded with lotsa football on. Was really loud inside, not so much the crowd but the crappy sound system near the doors... Lol

Awesome spot, perfect prices, the music setup could be better but I was too drunk to care :D

Had the pulled pork, which was delicious. Service from our waiter was poor. Offered a replacement for something included in the meal and then charged us extra. Never came back and we had to flag him down for our check.

McDonagh s chicken parmigiana is amazing! Their family dinners are huge and delicious! The staff is wonderful!

Have gone there for years. Went last Friday and it was terrible. I ordered Shepherds Pie and it was Shepherds mashed potatoes. NO meat. one or two carrots. I emailed them the next day and never even got a response. Guess they don't care. Won't go back.

Good food, great atmosphere, and really quick service even when really busy. I have never had to send anything back and the servers are really pleasant.

This place does everything right. Safe, clean, reliable and delicious.

Wow what a phenomenal experience. The owner was such a gentleman and he took care of us all night! What a guy! What a place! Mcdonaghs for the win!

Update 1-26-18 : we visited McDonaugh s tonight for the second time since the day of the below review. The Pub was very crowded and the restaurant was nearly full. Our experience was markedly different from out first visit. Although disappointed with out first visit, we stopped by for lunch in the spring and again tonight. Both of those visits were better.

At tonight s visit, we were immediately seated and the service was very good. Sangria was better, but not the best we ve had. Our entrees were served quite quickly and were as described and expected. The gift card provided at the first visit nearly covered the cost of this nights visit. It is nice to see they accepted responsibility for the first visit, and we re happy to see it s not a common occurrence at the pub.

We plan to return.



This review is based on our first visit.
We had an 8:30 reservation, and arrived at 8:25. We waited almost 10 minutes for a hostess to greet us, and we were the only people waiting. Once seated, the waitress recommended their Sangria, and at best it was a watered down Costco type Sangria. We then ordered 2 appetizers and 4 cups of water. About 30 minutes later the waitress finally appeared and remembered we requested water??? 10 minutes later, the steamed clams arrived and we were informed the kitchen was experiencing "difficulties".... They burnt the GRILLED wings. Approximately 15 minutes after that, FRIED wings arrived with out the correct sauces. We did eat them because we were so hungry. (9:40 approximately). The restaurant side is nearly empty and we were informed the entrees were almost ready. When 10:00pm came and went ,and still no food, we requested a check for what we had been served minus the incorrect wings. Minutes later the manager arrived with 2 of the 4 entrees which we declined. Having consumed the sangria & 2 appetizers, we paid a $33 bill and left a $17 tip. A second manager arrived to explain the difficulties they (the kitchen) had experienced, which amounted to admitting the burnt the wings... Which didn't explain a wait in excess of 1:30 for entrees in an empty restaurant. They did provide us a gift card, in an unknown amount for a future visit.... Which most likely will go unused.

Both managers, while polite and working what appeared to be multiple positions (serving, clearing and seating customers) in our opinion were not experienced enough to efficiently manage a large pub/restaurant.

As a side note, upon our arrival I overheard a couple asking an employee for a check, since that hadn't seen their waitress for over 20 minutes.

All these factors lead me to believe, the establishment was woefully understaffed for a Friday night, and especially the Friday of Labor Day weekend.

Nice menu. Great food. Always stop in when I'm in the area.

Burgers are always delicious, so tried the vegan burger tonight and it didn't let me down. It was the best I ever had. Fries perfectly done too. Monday's burger are half price, but they wont let you down even if full price. Pairs perfectly with a Guinness.

Big fan of this place. Good food and reasonably priced. The place has a lot of character too.

Food was great and you get a lot of product for the cost. Well kept and clean.

Went here for first time with my gf nanci waitress Gabi was great right off the bat she told us 45 minute wait for food which was bit long but we endured food came out about 50 min later it was worth the wait. Manager George came over to table and apologized for wait we understood it was a sat night very nice customer service we Wil defenetly be back

Love this place. Great atmosphere, very friendly and good food.

My husband and I saw the $5 lunch special and decided to go in. We were told by our waiter that on Mondays they also have 1/2 price burgers. We ordered the burgers and two beers. When the bill came, we were charged full price for the burgers. We questioned the bill and was told the special didn't start until 5:30 - our waiter was training, so he gave us the wrong info. the manager wouldn't do anything to alter the bill. We will never go back. Poor management for sure!!!!

I loved this Irish Pub!!!!! The service was outstanding our waitress was so friendly. But I loved that all three waitress stopped by our table to see how we were doing. My lunch was sooooo delicious, the burger was huge and juicy!! I had to take half home for later!! I am just sorry I dont live closer or I would be here 3x a week. But my bestie works around the corner and she is here all the time. The new outside Patio is great, and with the TV's installed outside you can catch the Notre Dame games!!! Def stop and say hi..

Really good wings. They re big. The buffalo wings are hotter than most regular buffalo wings. The k-dog wings are delicious. There was live entertainment too and the guy singing sounded good.

Food was good but service was a little slow tonight.

Awesome Irish Pub. Great Bloody Mary's +bacon and huge olives. Even bigger pretzel. Homemade beer cheese was ok. not a lagered beer cheese so it was kinda different. Wings are big and tasty. Lots taps and tv's. big space. looks great for a match. I had the Beer battered cod sandwich. nice crust and fish was fresh. Wife had the french onion soup grilled cheese. really tasty. service was good. they were busy and yet we got all our food appropriately and hot. It was an overall good experience.

The shorty hamburger was unique and tasty. Service was good.

The guy who sang that night was too loud. Food was good but too loud and obnoxious. Need to change that.

The upgrades to the venue and menu there are great. Wish they served the regular menu outside though (there's a patio version).

Great beer. Taps are cleaned regularly and all the beer tastes fresh. Different microbrews and seasonal varieties. The prime rib night is an awesome deal.
Just upgraded to 5 stars for happy hour and new menu.
4-7p,M-F $1 oysters, $2 Sliders, and $4 wings plus half price apps on Wed.

Crowd is rowdy. Too many fights. Worst place to meet a woman.

Great Irish pub atmosphere. Decent selection on tap. Only downside is some of the loud, douchey bros that frequent in the evenings, but that's unfortunately anywhere. Outside seating area is nice. Short walk to the waterfront.

Food quality had dropped. It was a good pub with decent food for years, but it's pricey for food and the quality just isn't there anymore.

Loved McDonagh's and have been coming for years. The outside area is great since the rennovations and they always had great food. Came in this week and the menu is much more limited and didn't offer something for everyone in the party. Hopefully they change the menu back or make additions to what they recently released.

Food was absolutely delicious, service was great and my server always came over with a smile (even through his mask) prices were great and its right by the waterfront! I highly recommend and ill definitely be back! Oh and outdoor patio looks like it would be a great night area by their fireplace!!

Big Pretzels are delicious. Wings are OK. Which is why it gets a 4. Bars need good wings. Everything else is fantastic.

Food was excellent portions were great service too notch will be back there again.

Excellent bar on front Street in keyport. The outdoor bar in the summer and fall is great with the salt water air blowing through.

Great location, great food, and great drinks. Saturday nights are really fun here. They have a DJ and its not too crowded so you can actually move around the bar. The food is great. Been here twice so I am looking forward to trying some more things on the menu.

Super pub fare here. Delicious pattie melt and Reuben. Red onion rings did arrive cold, but quickly replaced with apologies made; crispy good. Option of indoor dining, covered dining or outdoor. Sports TVs going full blast, so difficult to talk.

They did not give us utensils straws napkins and they kept disappearing

This place is hella cozy with an insanely fresh outdoor seating area. Also has a little electric bonfire which is perfect to get faded next to with a fly looking honey on my lap. The fried pickles here are off the chain.

Good bar with live music and good drinks. Outside sitting is available if the bar area is too crowded inside.

A 35 minute wait means 90 minutes, standing in front of the hosts station isn t enough of a clue for them to inform you of the additional time, drinks and tables are off limits until the takeout orders have been fulfilled. Don t try to get seated just order out if their food is worth it.

They need to work on their bloody Mary, it was horrible.

Server left a lot to be desired. No set ups. No plates. Nachos came, to an empty table. Took forever to come at the end for check. Food was very good though. Nice atmoshere

Food is delicious, atmosphere is chill, service is great. The folks they book for the live music are experienced musicians that play a variety of favs. Kenny is always accommodating and looking to provide the best experience possible... and he always delivers. If your looking for a place with good vibes, great food, and a happy hour that makes you happy... you just found it!

Had a wonderful dinner. Host sat me early and the waiter was attentive.

I live fairly close to McDonagh's and we love coming in for a spontaneous dinner whenever the work week gets to be too much. We can always rely on this place for a good burger and a couple of beers. Gabi was our server the last time we were there and she was very attentive and helpful.
I highly recommend this neighborhood restaurant!

Loud yet empty on a Friday night 10 to 11pm. Didn't go inside because I was afraid of patrons being drunk and annoying
