Service was terrible. Asked for double grey goose with sprite in a short glass and a single in a short glass. The "double" came in a short glass the single in a tall glass. Both tasted like a glass of soda. I made mention of mine being in a tall glass and she looked at me like I had 2 heads and did nothing about it. So we ended up ordering grey goose shots to put in our drinks. I was half way through my drink when I noticed where the lime sat my glass was cracked. We called her over and again she looked at us like we weren't from this world. We said "this isn't your fault but..." she said ok. She took the glass to replace it and my husband wanted another as well and she brought them over both in a tall glass instead of short glass like we asked and again both tasting like soda. Then ordered steamed clams with grilled crostini. There wasn't any grilled frosting. Needless to say we won't be back.

One of the best places for social interaction and great food

Great, I mean REALLY great food. But the wait staff is THE WORST. Very nice people, but slow, slow, slow as balls.

Great outdoor seating. Shade and fans. The sweet fire shrimp and calamari is really good.

Very good food. Great service and free poker play on Wednesday night with Down to the felt poker league.

Gaby was our server and she was PHENOMENAL! She served us quickly, very attentive and anything we needed she was able to provide it pretty quickly. Her personality is bubbly and upbeat which passes on a positive vibe to me about the atmosphere here at Mcdonagh's. The GM George is also very attentive to customers and making sure they have exactly what they need for an enjoyable night out. Will DEFINITELY be coming back here. Loved everything about the place, from the service, our waitress Gaby, and our food. 110% highly recommend!!

I've been here twice, and both times, the food was really good. The live music is good but a little loud for the indoor dining area. It's a fun place for pub food.

We went there for Mother s Day brunch with family. What a disappointment. I wanted to cry... The food was terrible or.. I should say, there was no food... There was nothing for the kids to eat, no pancakes, no waffles, overcooked scrambled eggs, undercooked bacon, few mini stale muffins from Costco and stale beagles. There was only one chicken dish and one beef stew dish, there was no salad, no fish, no shrimp... All pastry was stale and from Costco (The Costco empty containers were left on the buffet) I had to pay extra for juice for my kids and coffee for the guests. I feel so terribly sorry for all the moms that were there on Sunday to celebrate their special day. On the way home we had to stop for pizza since the kids were starving. I was under the impression that Mother s Day Brunch would focus on family and kids... We will NEVER go back.

Impossible Burger and friendly service and outside seating makes it a winner. Not sure buns were vegan though.

This is a great place to hand out. Live music on the weekends and they just renovated their patio. I've been coming here for years and have always had a good time.

First and foremost, my visit was pretty good, but there were a few things that threw me. For instance the fact that we weren't given water, or even asked if we wanted water was strange. I get that many times people don't even touch their water, but the fact that it wasn't even an option was a little unnerving.
The portion size of calamari was not commensurate with the cost. I have been to restaurants and work at one that the portion is doubled and the cost is either the same as yours or cheaper, and to be quite honest tastes better.
I will say; however that everything else we had for dinner was tasty. The sweet potato fries could have been more done, but that is just my own personal opinion (I like them more crispy).
Desert was nice except we had to ask for our ice cream that was supposed to come with the Apple Crisp pie, but honestly the ice cream was just a bonus...the pie was fabulous on its own.
I will say again that my friend and I had a nice time overall, there were just a few areas that made me scratch my head in disbelief.

I went for new years..they had a buffet and the food was delicious! Good d.j. w dance music a really good time for me to keep it local in my town for new years!:)

Great food, atmosphere, cold beer and make sure you go when Paula is bartendinng. She is the BEST!

We recently had a birthday party for my daughter at McDonagh's Pub, it was perfect! The food was great and the customer service was outstanding!

Below is my previous review. I went a few weeks ago and my experience was pretty bad. The food was awful, menu and staff is completely different. I doubt it will ever be good again. It's sad at one point they did deserve 5 stars and a rave review.

Delicious! This is the type of place you'd travel to a quaint town and expect to find. This place meets expectation, perfect balance of homemade flavor and restaurant presentation. The burgers are large, with a nice chewy bun fitting the patty, the meat is smokey and bacon cooked perfect. The banana split waffle was awesome, perfect for two to share. Great ice cream and portion size. They had live music which I do agree could have been lowered, but our waitress made sure to lean in close to get our order. She pitched in to help other tables but we didn't feel rushed or waiting. Both waitresses from our visits were truly nice. I feel lucky to have this place be local and not disappoint. For the same price of a chain restaurant you could have a great higher quality meal here!

Fun pub atmosphere, good food and beer selection. Good entertainment, fun games, and I love the outdoor seating. They even have a fire pit! I ordered a Summer Ale and Fish n Chips and enjoyed both.Good for singles, dates, and families alike. Even the family dog is welcome. Service was friendly and attentive.

Server needs to be retrained. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage, the worst I was ever served, dry, tasteless.

Will not return to this place.

Cold beer, food not so good. Don't get the corned beef and cabbage egg rolls, just order mashed potatoes!

Met a friend here on a random Monday to learn that random Mondays (well, all Mondays) are Bingo night and half price burgers. Fun time, and the burgers were great! Nice place in the center of Keyport. I had fries and my friend had the waiters recommendation of sweet potato fries; both were great though I preferred the crispiness of the shoestring fries.

A great little Irish pub. I said damn good food, a decent drink selection, and some with music with a lot of fun and entertaining events. My most recent trip was on St Patty's day and oh my gosh it was packed both inside and outside in the little tent off area that they made. It was a lot of fun and would go again if I could.

Walked in & was immediately told $10 cover at 4 in the afternoon, no hello or greeting of any kind. As I'm reaching in my purse for $$, I say we have a reservation & response was a bit abrupt, "It's still a $10 cover." I am always polite to restaurant staff. I smile & I am a former waitress. At this point I looked at her & gave a firm "I understand the cover." 2 of us had burgers, 1 had a Reuben, plus some appetizers. Food was all quite good but it is your typical pub food. All arrived hot but service was a little slow. It was very, very crowded so we had no issue waiting & as I said food was served hot. All in all I would return. Enjoyed the burger & the breaded cauliflower. Place needs a larger restroom. Very long line.

Great food, service and managers. They were out of angry orchard and Christian the manager went out his way to get me some.

Interior has some old world pub charm while the outside is airy yet comfortable. Staff is attentive and friendly. Menu has usual pub fare and Dad enjoyed a huge juicy burger with plenty of crinkle fries and washed it all down with an ice cold Smithwick.. My fish and chips were hot and delicious. We enjoyed our lunch thoroughly.

Cheap place...Can be there for 4 hours and not receive a free drink...which in reality , we all know Isnt free...

Surely a place worth stopping by, the food is excellent and well prepared, the cost is fair and it is constantly neat here. Kudos.

Food is good. Beer selection is decent. A nice outdoor patio to sit with TV s and spacious seating. The one issue i had was when i went to the restroom and finished up the same time as a staff member who walked out without washing his hands and straight into the kitchen. Needless to say, i did not order any more food the rest of the night.

Classic place. The Bavarian Pretzel is a must. They used to make a sandwich called the Slammer - sometimes they'll still make it for you if you request.

A little noisy but people seem to enjoy it - line out the door!

Great atmosphere to watch sports and get some great pub type food. New menu is very good. Haven't been in a while and I'm glad I came back. Service was excellent and the manager, Neil is great at what he does. Definitely check it out if you are in the area

Horrible servers, kept me waiting for over an hour just to tell me to go someplace else to eat, which I HIGHLY recommend.

Always a good time here, wonderful veteran bartenders, great burgers and sandwiches (half price burger night every Monday), weekly bingo with real decent prizes, etc. Nice place for a burger and some suds!!

Left without meal. Waitress forgot to put in out order, then they gave us and lame excuse. Very disappoint when they were out of the main ingredients for my first to menu items I chose. so I didnt care when after 50 minutes our food didn't come. Never saw waitress after placing order.

Went with friends for dinner, I had never been. We happened to be there on Bingo night, which was loud, but fun. The food was awesome, I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. BEST FRIED PICKLES I'VE EVER HAD. Yeah, I'm shouting that from the rooftops! We got 5 appetizers for the table, they were all devoured. I brought my vegetarian friend, wasn't sure how it would work out for her, but she was thrilled with the food. She got some type of fried mac and cheese sandwich minus the bacon, she was a happy camper. We all got burgers, no burger will be better than 5 Guys, but this was compatible. Plus it was Monday, half price burger night. Half price burgers always taste better...

The guinness in this place was very bad for a so called Irish pub.

Irish pub with a vibe somewhere toward the higher end. Food was tasty, though some items missed the mark for price point. Buffalo chicken dip was solid, as were the fried pickles. My main course of corned beef and cabbage was a bit flat, but not bad. Just expected a bit more for the money.

stay away from the ruben egg rolls nothing but potato mush inside

Great atmosphere and really nice staff. They have a couple of vegetarian options on the menu, including appetizers, which I greatly appreciate. Trivia night on Wednesdays is a lot of fun as well. I'd definitely recommend you check it out!

We had an excellent at this place. We liked the great vibes and the menu. The staff are super friendly. I m content we ultimately managed to try this restaurant.

There Easter and Mother s Day packages were delicious and there was a lot of food included.
It was easy to order and pick up.

My husband and I visited often prior to shut down but yesterday was our first vist since covid. Food was great as usual and I was impressed with the safety measures in place. Tables were spaced out nicely but it still manages to feel warm and friendly.

Great fresh food and a great selection of beers and cocktails. Beautiful outside patio as well as great service from the entire staff.

Good food and a great atmosphere on the slower days of the week. Bar gets overly packed and loud for games and on weekends. Prices are decent. Good place to hang with friends.
