After a 45min wait for a seat that was open when we checked in initially, then a 25min wait for a waitress to get the drink orders wrong... Then a further 15min wait to order food then 10 min after tell us what we ordered isn't available any longer..... The food was OK I guess.. Still said Taco Bell would have been better..
Now I know why there is a lengthy wait to get in... Patrons waiting so long to get what they ordered..

Long story short.. If you have time to wait and aren't hungry at all.. By all means come on up and order your food.. Sit back and enjoy the beaming and confused wait staff..

The new outdoor patio is beautiful and adds to a bar that was more than lacking before. Happy hour is better than most other local bars, however the food options are too limited. Food is always better than mediocre, with some menu items being outstanding (grilled cheese!). Sangria is some of the best around and comes in a cool little mason jars and is only $5 during happy hour. Bathrooms are usually clean, but small so expect a small wait on super busy nights (ladies). Family friendly at any time on any day!

The Prime Rib special on Thursdays are mostly fat. I order medium rare and my better half ordered medium well. Both were1/3 pure fat. The balance is difficult to cut with the steak knives provided in spite of it being cut very thin and the meat is very stringy. Not a quality Prime Rib. Not worth the price. I will order their hamburger next trip. They are always good.

Good Irish Pub, food was good and service even better. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because one plate was dirty then the desserts spoons were also dirty. Actual food stuck on them, probably a bad dish washer.

We usually frequent this place but the evening we went it was a bit off. Not your usual crowded place though live music was playing. Although our waitress was very accommodating our meals were all wrong. One of our guests had asked for no cheese on their burger and it came with cheese the chicken sandwich had very little chicken in it and the beef stew was not your normal beef stew it was a smaller portion although they were nice enough to take off one of the meals off the bill it still left to be said may not be visiting this place for a while

Went here three times over the past ~month. On the first visit had some of the worst service I've ever experienced from Victoria. Several items we ordered never arrived and she never came back to the table for us to ask for the missing food. Asked a busboy for our check. Returned a second time figuring it was an off day, service was acceptable and food was ok. Returned again today at ~430pm sat for almost 15 minutes after being seated with no visit from a server and left without eating. Will never return. Beware, if you intend to eat dinner here expect awful service unless you eat at the bar.

We thoroughly enjoy McDonaghs. Trivia night is a blast, the food is good and doesn t break the bank. The manager made a point to introduce himself one of the first times we went which was a nice touch. Staff are always friendly and professional and the overall atmosphere is great. The live music is fabulous and it s even better when the crowd chimes in too.

After dinner plans changed in Keyport on Friday, decided to try McDonagh s since I had heard of it and it looked fairly busy. Went to the check-in stand in the outside area and was told by the hostess of a 15 minute wait. No problem. Went to sit along the wall with several other couples and small groups. After about 10 minutes we began to speak among us all wondering why there were at least 5 tables unoccupied.
When we questioned the hostess, who disappeared often and who was obviously incapable of managing the area, she gave a few flimsy excuses that she thought there were reservations or just dismissed our queries. While waiting, I finished one pint of Kona Big Wave that I had to get myself from the bar inside, and, ultimately, about half of a second one while my wife finished a Corona. When we were finally seated, no one acknowledged us for another 15 minutes ( never saw the hostess again) until, finally, a waitress showed up with menus, dropped them on the table and walked off. 10 minutes later she came back for our order. My wife ordered a cup of potato leek soup and an appetizer of boneless chicken wings. I ordered the fish and chips with the Caesar salad which I intended for my wife. 10 more minutes later, a server delivers the salad for my wife. As he starts to walk away, she had to ask for cutlery and napkins for us. Another 10 minutes or more and the waitress, finally, comes back but without any food telling us the kitchen is backed up. I requested that she at least bring the cup of soup. She leaves and 10 more minutes until another server shows up with everything. That s when it got really interesting. The boneless wings turn out to be skinless strips of breast meat. When my wife questioned the waitress, she responds Oh that s how they serve them here". At which point, my wife responded that the menu should state that or the waitress should.
She made a weak apology. My fish and chips was another adventure. The coating, ( or whatever that was ) on the strips of fish, was so hard ( almost like the shell of a lobster) that I had to crack it with the side of my fork just to get to the fish. The cracked coating fell off the fish in sections and what remained was still extremely crunchy to chew. And to top it all off, only about 20% of the fries were even edible, as they were so overcooked that they were like cardboard. My wife suggested that I send it all back, and I declined, saying that it would be another half hour wait with no guarantee of any improvement. Ate what we could stomach, paid the bill and left. On the way home, I said to her that we may have had as a disappointing meal before but could not remember where or when . The only thing to earn a star was Kona Big Wave on tap.

Sat at the bar for some food and drinks on Sunday around noon time and I forgot how much I love this place. Excellent service amassing food and Ice Cold beer. What more could you want?

Such a fun place, better during the busy summer months to get there early to avoid the crowds, and when I mean crowds it gets busy fast! I had the Grilled cheese with mac bites in it. Tasty! This is pretty much 'upscale' bar food. They have a full bar / with bar tables. wall separation to tables, and a outdoor overhead along with tables and umbrellas.

Good food, good atmosphere, service is okay. Big bar, only comment would be to expand room around the bar. When its packed its difficult to stand around the bar because its too close to the walls. Overall 3 stars

Bloody Mary was nice and spicy, it did come with bacon. Boneless buffalo chicken wings are way worth the value, as for the shrimp tacos, I definitely was not happy with them, the beer batter that is used is extreme, I was not a fan of the taste and I've had beer battered onion rings and shrimp before but it never tasted like this. Waitress was fast, efficient and friendly, they also have a huge outdoor seating area.

We had our son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner at Mcdonagh's on Wednesday night. After a bit of confusion in the beginning with the date and time.... thanks to covid-19 changing things... everything went beautifully. We were able to sit inside family style... since that's what we all were... in a private dining area. That evening, Mcdonagh's manager and staff went out of their way to make everything perfect for us. The food was delicious, the service awesome and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. We had a great time. We will will definitely be back !

I usually judge a place on my first visit. Which was fantastic unlike other restaurants in the area. For the last 3 years now I've been waiting to be disappointed and I haven't been (possibly jinxing it now?)

The food is always consistently delicious and the servers are always so friendly. Even after having moved a few towns away my dad and I still come here. We just love it! Please always keep up the great work everyone!

Why did you guys get rid of the booths? It's supposed to be an Irish pub?

The renovations look great, but it's too loud to have a family dinner.

Stop trying so hard. I miss old school mcdonaghs!

The most unprofessional restaurant/pub I've ever been to. I was picking up a take out order that was placed 30 minutes prior and when I got there, the long haired brunette had an attitude with me when I questioned her about why they didn't reach out to say their system was down. So not nice.

Service by the servers was good, unfortunately the kitchen couldn't keep up with the orders and food took forever. Multiple tables had a manager visit... Unfortunately it wasn't a preemptive visit, even knowing the food was delayed.. food was ok bar food. The fries are terrible frozen tasteless... I feel they could do better. Fried pickles were good, keep the pickles slices! Overall mediocre... For outside during COVID, it's ok.

Let me start by saying that I almost NEVER write reviews, although when I read something so far from the truth it s tough to ignore. My wife and I stopped in here for dinner on a whim yesterday 12/5. The food was INCREDIBLE. I had the Rosemary Chicken which was cooked perfectly, well seasoned and most importantly, moist. My wife had the Reuben Quesadilla (GREAT IDEA!) she was absolutely in love with it. We ve eaten here in the past, we LOVE the new additions to the menu also seems to be lots of new renovations to the space. This pub is on the up and up. Please disregard shotty, almost comical, let me speak to manager Susan reviews and do yourself a favor, stop in for great food, great service and cold beer. 5 STARS!

Food was okay. I got the lobster roll and my boyfriend got steak tacos. Nothing to write home about but not bad. Calamari was delicious. Drinks I ordered (Raspberry Arnold Palmer and Very Berry Slushie) were okay, too. Again, nothing to write home about.

Service was another story. Tables that are under the awning don't appear to be properly social distanced, so we requested seating further back on the patio. After being seated for over 20 minutes with no one coming over to our table, I went to the hostess stand and informed them that no one had been over- not even to take drink orders or bring water. She said she'd take care of it. After more than an additional 10 minutes had passed our waiter finally came over. He was only trying to take our drinks order but we informed hin that after waiting over 30 minutes we had plenty of time to decide what we wanted and that he could take the full order now. He was the same waiter who had passed by us multiple times and was serving the other tables around us, so I'm not sure why he failed to come over- but he did approach several other tables around us who had been seated much later than we were. Additionally, the person who was bringing out food had his mask on below his nose so it was sort of defeating the purpose. Probably won't be back for a while (post COVID) unless they get their act together.

Used to be my fav place to grab a bite and a couple of beers with friends. Something changed in the kitchen. They changed the menu amd raised $$$ (I mean, .75 for caramel sauce that used to be free). Very disappointed

Food was pretty good, staff pretty friendly. Went on a day when they ran out of regular fries after they just received some for the week, which is a good sign for the business. Will go again.

First timer, not thrilled with the not so piled high Ruben. A lot of fat in the meat, not worth the price, so didn't have a problem asking for a price reduction. It was granted, will give it one more try.

Great food, great atmosphere. Loved sitting outside and having a drink. Gabi our server was friendly and attentive, and worked with us when we changed our minds on dessert after paying the bill.
