I gave it 3 stars because the food was ok, nothing to brag about. However, the staff and our waiter (I believe his name was Bernie) was great, very accommodating!!! Not to mention, the chef personally came over to greet us and thanked us for visiting. I really appreciate that because that doesn't happen very often.
Love that they are by the water. Such an amazing view. Our waiter was amazing !! So helpful with choosing what to eat on the menu . The food is amazing too .
Excellent service. Upscale atmosphere. Delightful and delicious food. My vegan husband was so pleased with the vegan dish that the chef put together for him! Happy dinner for our Anniversary weekend!
What should have been a quick lunch turned into an over 2 hour wait. Food was uncooked and had to wait over 30 minutes for replacement. When check arrived, waiter said he was too busy to separate the check for us!!
Yuck! I was at an event that only offered a shrimp dish and a vegetarian option that was not appealing. I called the day before and asked to purchase a second meal for myself. I was told someone would get back to me, but they didn't. I politely declined the shrimp dish and the waiter raised his voice to me stating that I had not ordered the vegetarian option. I asked if I could just get a chicken breast or something and he never came back. The shrimp dish was beautifully plated but I noticed my dining partners all sent back full plates. Not for me I guess...
They ruined Veterans Day. It took so long to seat us although there were empty tables.. and they remained empty during our stay. We ordered from the specials, after a long wait the food was cold. I spoke with the server, she took my plate to the kitchen. My food was reheated and the pasta was overcooked and dry. At the end they were aware of the poor service that they didn't charge us. It didn't make up for the bad experience. Better to go to war again than going there for dinner!
We were in Baltimore for 8 days and this place has everything we were looking for. The staff was great. The food was high quality. It was prepared well. The ambiance was great. The view was great. Great place all the way around.
Went here for dinner on a wednesday night. The food and service was amazing, and priced very well for an upscale restaurant in the inner harbor. I will return!
We had wonderful, reasonably priced food! The bathrooms were very clean, and the atmosphere was very welcoming and was casual. The food tasted wonderful; our party had coconut shrimp, shrimp scampi, Natty Boh fish and chips, and lump crab More
We had a nice waitress but our food was cold by the time it got to us. Gone are the days where the menu gets printed every day because the food was freshly caught. Lobster tails were disappointing, frozen not fresh. Calamari was good, batter was nice and crunchy.
Waited for our crab cakes for an hour at lunch, when they weren't even crowded. When the food finally came out we we told sorry, but they were busy and our food was not even hot. Kids meals looked like they had been made and sat out for a while. Won't be back for $110.00 lunch with this service. Waiter was nice.
I ve eaten at the McCormick & Schmick s at Baltimore s Inner Harbor more than a dozen times over the past few years. However, I think that after this past Saturday s visit, it will be my last.
The food here used to be fantastic, the best at Harborplace. But the quality of the food has just deteriorated to the point that for the prices they charge, it s really not worth it anymore.
The Crispy Scallops appetizer was anything but crispy, the Shrimp Kisses were over-fried, and the Fish and Chips was so greasy that it was inedible.
The service staff were excellent, but we came for the food first. Too bad it will be our last.
3rd time we've been here. Excellent food/ excellent service. A little pricey but I was really impressed with my entree; Salmon stuffed with crab and shrimp & the appetizers were delicious also; Blue point oysters on the half and a seared Ahi tuna. Topped off with a Chateau St. Michele, Reisling. If you've got a few extra coins... treat yourself.
The food was mediocre at best..my order wasn't correct and the prices for this type of service and flavor were just a complete waste of money and time....'
Service was slow at a time when they weren't busy, drinks were wrong and half of my meal was not entered into the system, so never got it. We left there still hungry but never will again!!
My wife and I stumbled in for lunch around 2:00 Monday 7/29/13. The place was relatively empty as to be expected at the time of day. We were seated in the bar area which was fine. The service was very slow. The iced tea coffee and lemonade took forever to get. The server was picking at his ear then decided to take our order. My wife ordered fish and chips I ordered the muscles linguini . Again very slow, taking forever. While we waited for our food we had the pleasure of the bartender teaching new waitresses . My wife is not a complainer but she said something's wrong w this. So I tasted it. The oil it was fried in was bad. Tasted awful. My muscles were ok but very small size and only twelve of them. We left most of the fish and noticed other fish uneaten near us in the dirty bus tray (Wish I seen that earlier lol). It was an experience I can't wait to forget. First and last time for M&S for us!! Later that night we went to Rusty Scupper. It was fantastic!!!
We sat at the bar, and the service was amazing. They were allowing us to give great criticism, and they are very relatable. The staff was super approachable, and the food was great. Their ties are interesting, and the layout was definitely weird, but overall everything was spot on. Great convo, great time, great drinks, great food, and we had a wonderful time.
Very poor service! While we were waiting for the food, two tables left because no one went to wait on them. Clearly they didn t have appropriate staff. Food is mediocre at best (crab cakes are absolute garbage for the price). Their chocolate silk pie was so old, the moose was hard as rock and the crust was dry and crumbled. To top our terrible experience, they charged another table s bill to our credit card! We like McCormick and Schmick s, but this location is well below their standards. Don t make the same mistake that we did and avoid this place!
Went here with my wife and 5 yo for a nice dinner while we stayed at the attached Curio hotel. We asked the hostess for bar seating since we were early (5:30 pm), casually dressed, and looking to make an nice early dinner of happy hour appetizers. She seated us immediately at a low top in the bar.
Believe the bad reviews.
We waited for a server to even acknowledge us. They would look away as I tried to make eye contact. Finally, I asked someone as she blew past, and she said someone was assigned to us and would be right with us. They weren't.
We watched as other tables with no kids were attended to as soon as they sat down. But we waited for 25 minutes after the hostess seated us without the first acknowledgement from the wait staff (e.g., no one even took drink orders or greeted us after the hostess). We walked out, and no one so much as lifted a finger to stop us.
I can only guess they don't want kids there. My 5yo was not poorly behaved or anything. If you have kids and you're in the inner harbor looking you treat your family to good seafood, go somewhere else.
Far over priced for the poor quality of the food and service. I would never go back and wish I could get my money back. You can literally get a better meal at Wendy's.
Short wait on reservation, waiter Tony was prompt with service. He earned the nickname of " lighten". Fast to serve, always coming thru checking on you the entire time. If reserving at National Harbor, request Tony's area to get first hand insight.
McCormick and Schmick's is one of my favorite restaurants! My last experience was horrible. Now, my husband and I are not one to complain but with our past experience at this 4 star restaurant we have a level of expectations that just was not met at all!
So we made a reservation for lunch, got seated very quickly! We waited over 5 minutes to ask the host where our waitress was. Host response : "Oh!".... totally forgot about us.
Waitress comes out and we place an appetizer order of 6 blue point oysters and a side Caesar salad..some lemons for our water. She writes everything down. Waited 10 minutes for our apps..still no lemons. Salad comes out..very skimpy. 2/6 oysters were "gritty" and one was extremely small..not an experienced shucker.
Finally had to voice our concern..manager comes out, slightly defensive and made an excuse about the waitress being new and the pandemic being the reason why our experience sucked. However, she was more than happy to bring another oyster, which was gritty, and more salad!
Placed an order for cobia and seabass with seasonal vegetables. Seabass was extra salty, cobia lacked any flavor at all. And green beans and roasted potatoes were also bland.
I was really looking forward to this pre-anniversary lunch as we had to cancel once for the rain (outdoor seating), second for the protest, and a third time because the reservation was too late at night. I guess it was a sign unfortunately.
We had a reservation for Christmas dinner. We arrived on Christmas evening , ten minutes early. We were told to wait. After standing there waiting for 30 minutes, I explained again to the hostess that we had a reservation. She said she would seat us soon but we would still wait at least an hour for service. I explained that this was unacceptable. She told me this was happening for everyone. I asked to see the manager . Again, we stood and waited several minutes. I saw the hostess speaking with a lady whom I surmised was the manager. I approached the lady and asked if she was the manager . She appeared to be annoyed by my approaching her and verified that she was the manager. I again explained that we had made a reservation well in advance , followed by a phone call. At this point , we had waited 45 minutes. The manager complained that she had to work on Christmas night. Obviously, we left the restaurant, only to find that we were , at that late time, unable to eat dinner down at the harbor. As an added insult, we had to pay parking . Please do not subject yourselves to this awful treatment. We would have received more efficient, polite, and professional service at McDonalds. They ruined our Christmas family dinner.
Great place. I love this place seafood. The seafood was fresh and cooked well prepared. The outdoor seating was awesome that was near by water. I'd highly recommend them.
For the ultimate in steak dinners this is your best place to eat at. They do have a variety of different dishes to suit just about any persons selective pallette but for me personally I really appreciate a good steak. If or dare I say when you dine at McCormick and Schmidt please don't hesitate to ask your server for the dessert and coffee menus to wind down and enjoy the atmosphere. Every server that I have had at the many McCormick and Schmidt restaurants that I have dined at were extensively knowledgeable about everything on the menus and the occasional off meno item, but only if you ask.
I dined at McCormick & Schmick's on Valentine's Day of 2017 and the shrimp wrapped in bacon was out of this world...........Perfectly cooked and my Alaskan snow crab legs were just off the charts, this was the most perfect dining experience of my life. Hats off to the cook and the staff.
Finally got a chance to eat at this place! I've wanted to eat here for a few years now and this weekend it happened. My sweetie booked a getaway down by the harbor and our first night there we had reservations at this place. There were various dishes on the menu to choose from as well as drinks. I'm giving it only 4 stars because the drinks were weak for the price & we ordered margaritas & they brought them out in rock glasses. WTH!!Maybe they're cutting down on drinks because of the pandemic or trying to save on money not sure. Hopefully when this thing is over we can give it another try & I'll update my review.
Excellent visit! We stopped for drinks and appetizers. The wine, mussels, and coconut shrimp were outstanding, as were the service and setting. I've never been disappointed at a McCormick and Schmick's, and this one is my favorite. Wish I were in Baltimore more often.
The food was so good!! I ordered the stuffed shrimp and red pepper cheddar mashed and the green beans which was awesome. The waiter was very friendly as was the entire staff. I will definitely be back SOON
I went to the Baltimore Pier 5 McCormick & Schmick's for happy hour on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. I made it a few minutes before the end and the server was diligent enough to get my order in. The service at this location is simply excellent. People are friendly and personable. Their attitude is one of helpfulness, trying to make the guest feel welcome and comfortable. I really enjoyed my time there. I ordered the fish tacos from the happy hour menu. I have to say, the tacos overall were delicious, but the was a good 1/4 inch of breading all around the fish. And, 2hile the breading was delicious and fried to perfection, they could go easy on how much breading they use. The salsa and overall presentation is wonderful. I also had the coconut shrimp appetizer, which was also delicious. All in all, it was a great experience. I highly recommend it. #recommended #bechego
My boyfriend and I went to McCormicks to celebrate his work accomplishment. I made a special request to sit by the window and to have a cheesecake come at the end of the night saying Congratulations Rashaad . We had an amazing experience from beginning to end.
I made the reservation for 9:00pm on Friday. When we arrived, we were seated promptly and by the window. Our waiter (Ryan) immediately greeted us and made us feel welcome. He was by far one of the best waiters we ve encountered. He kept my wine glass full, he answered all of our questions, and even engaged in conversation with us.
I must admit I was a little nervous about eating here after reading some of the reviews, but I m very happy I went. We had a great time and we will definitely be coming back again!!
(On OpenTable it says we went to McCormicks in DC which is false. We went in Baltimore)
I went to McCormick and Schmick's last night for dinner with my boyfriend who's in the military so we only get a date every 4-6 months. We had a great time DESPITE the extremely disappointing service. The hostess was very unfriendly and it was almost a bother when we checked in for our reservation. Although it was a busy night, our server treated a lot of tables a lot better than ours. She offered them bread and refilled their drinks while we sat there waiting and waiting for food. She delivered the wrong soup but after waiting for 10 mins for her to come around, my date ate it anyways. We waited OVER AN HOUR for food. For the price you pay, this is really unacceptable. Our server didn't even check to see how our food was and didn't even apologize for the delay until we paid. I will never eat here again because for what you pay, there are plenty of other places that can offer mediocre service and at least refill your drinks for half of the price. Just, very disappointing.
The food was DELICIOUS!!! The service was GREAT! I had the crab cakes, string beans and mashed potatoes. I LOVED the clam chowder soup. We were therefore a staff luncheon
This place is awful. The shrimp was over cooked...Thus making it like tough chewing gum. The waiter disappeared for twenty five minutes and we had to find a manager to get us our check. Then the manager took another 15 minutes getting our check. Completely awful service with over priced food that doesn't live up to any kind of standard. Oh and how about putting some actual crab meat in your crab cakes. I hope you guys go out of business because you're that bad.
Stated in reservation it was our anniversary. Asked for ways to make it special. They did not respond to comment. The hostess saw it and said Happy Anniversary. That was it. The restaurant made no attempt to do anything special for us.
We sat inside. Empty tables all around but they sat a couple right next to us. Why??? Chairs were 6 feet apart maybe, but after people pushed them out to sit down, we had maybe 3 feet of space. THANKS FOR FOLLOWING THE LAW!!
Food was good, but not great!! A lot of money for a soso evening yesterday.
