I came in late on Friday afternoon because of and issue with my brake controller that another dealership installed. (I don't live in San Antonio) Rick Reyes is my HERO!!! He came in on his day off on Saturday and pushed for my truck to be fixed!! Went to see a Ford Explorer. Did not disclose the suv had hail damaged. I finally noticed it when I came home. Took the SUV back and talked to them about buying it. The SUV was listed at 34,998 when I asked them what we could do because of the hail damaged and military discount. They said well we can take off 3,300 I thought that was great. Until I looked at the starting price and it was 36,998 even though the SUV was listed online at 34,998.
Very shady business practice if you ask me, so we left and won't go back.

never going back...I got bambuzled by salesman with promises he could get me into a newer car with lower payment even though I had low credit score. He ran multiple inquires to my credit report I never got it approved. in fact his inquiries made my credit report worse...not to mention he ran ran multiple inquires to my wife's credit report without her permission. He never called me back to follow up or say I was denied. Only star I give is for their service dept which is great...
Samuel and Soheil made the buying experience a pleasure. Johnny the sales manager is a hoot and one half. Always happy and upbeat and worked to get me the absolute best deal available. Quick Lane is excellent. However, the Service dept is totally non-responsive to phone calls. They supposedly ordered parts for a recall against my vehicle on June 17th and said they will call me when the parts come in and set up an installation appointment . It is December 19th and I still can't get status. I have left voicemails for the Service Manager and the Service Advisor and I can't get anyone but the operator to pick up the phone. Quite frankly, they need to remove the word service from their job titles since they provide zero customer service.
My service advisor was efficient, clear and concise, and followed up when he needed to and kept things simple, yet of quality. Great working w you guys. Thanks

The story with this dealer is my mom got a small SUV type of car and she had a dashboard light pop up and was worried and one of my brothers put it in her head that it was a problemed car we got there explained the problem and they fixed it so now shes back to driving me crazy good work really yeah thanks

Brought my 2017 Escape here twice in one week for an engine light issue. I feel the process was rushed and after the first day of them telling me they fixed the issue, I had to return my car the NEXT day. After picking it up the second time they said it was just bad gas and new gas should fix the issue.... It didn't, and when I called to get a new appointment they pushed me out another week (April 10th), when I almost got into 2 accidents due to my car's issues. We ended up calling and going to Maik Ford (Same day appt) and they found the issue right away. Turns out it's a pretty serious issue and I can't believe the lack of customer service Mccomb's West showed. It was truly an inconvenience and even though they are closest to our home, I'll definitely be taking my business elsewhere.
Went to the dealer for a normal oil change and tire rotation, they call it the works , without appointment and they took the truck in within minutes and i was out within an hour with my truck ready to roll. Happy with the service.
I recently was looking into the possibility of buying another vehicle. I just wanted information. But, when I got to your place I met Mr. Roger Mortensen who was very nice, friendly, and efficient. He showed me to several different types of pickup trucks that I said I was interested in. He went several times to get keys for different cars and let me sit in them and ask questions about them. He was very knowledgeable. After we talked a bit he suggested that I might be interested in the Expedition. I realized that was what I wanted and ended up buying one that day. I am very pleased with the car and am very glad I met Roger. I will return in a couple of years and look for Roger and let him help me buy another car. When my wife is ready for a new car I will introduce her to Roger also. He is a great asset to your business, and is the reason I bought from you.

My mother bought a car during the summer and still does not have her car plates! We re very disappointed in how poorly their customer service is. We keep calling and ask for managers and they are always busy and they never call us back. Very, very sad. No one has tried to make things right either.

The sales person are ok, but the real problem is when you require a service ,I bought a ford focus 2015 with warranty after 3 month i had issues with the transmission, i made an appointment on their website for a specific day, the next day they called to me saying that their website was not update and i need to wait until the next month for an appointment, really? Wait for almost 40 days for an appointment, unbelievable.

Please explain the new business model. I see multiple commercials about Red Mccombs asking for business. So, I called to order a Tonneau cover (>$1,000) and asked how much $$ to install. I am ready/willing to pay immediately. So, the gentleman says he will call be back (within 20 minutes) and let me know the cost of installation. Nobody called me back. So, 2 hours later I attempt to call back, nobody answered.
The next day (4.9.20) I re-called accessories to see the problem, after a lengthy time on hold, I am transferred to another department (accessories?) and then sent to voicemail. This incident would indicate that Red McCombs does not need additional business, or they only want a specific type business for vehicles. I guess I will find a dealership who would appreciate my business.

Purchasing an Truck at McCombs west was an awesome experiance from beginning to end, the internet sales rep and inventory manager worked hard to get me into the vehicle i really wanted. A FIVE STAR TEAM!
As soon as got off my vehicle, I was greeted by one of the sales associate at McCOMBS WEST who in turn introduced me to another sales professional by the name of Cheyenne Sabok Rouh. Ok He was very friendly and very professional. I showed him a picture of the vehicle I was interested in and he found it very quickly. He explain to me all about the vehicle and allowed me and my family to test drive the vehicle by ourselves. When we got back from the test drive, I told him this is the one. We went inside to make an application and he brought us three proposals, which we excepted the best one. He was quick and did not waste anytime and a hour later I was driving off we my new vehicle in which I was very happy.
Had my car towed in for a clutch problem that I had fixed last year at this dealership. Service advisor Michael Wright said that it would be a few days before they would look at it. Now we are sitting at 7 days and no answer after calling several times leaving messages and no response. I decided to go up there and ask in person. Michael looked me up and down and said wait in the lobby, after 30minute wait we proceeded to ask me the problems the car was having because the mechanic had said he had seen no problem on the test drive. I asked when he test drove the car, and his answer was I don't know last week. Really? No notes on this matter in the computer about this or a phone call to say they could not find a problem. He proceeded to tell me people have been "dumping" their cars off this week and their busy. Wow! It was the worst customer service I have experienced so far at a dealership. This guy Micheal Wright doesn't deserve one star.
I also have left a couple of messages to Keven Hoelscher, the Service Director, with no response. 7 days no car, no answers. Unacceptable service. I paid 2200 for the repair 8 months ago with it to happen again. I get they don't make money on their warranty, but expected better service. This is a very frustrating and disheartening experience from Red McCombs and Ford. I would recommend that you look for another option other than this dealership if you're looking to buy or service your vehicle. They have lost my trust as a business.
Our family truck was kept here for three weeks with hardly any updates. When we called they would tell us that they will keep us updated. Sometimes they said the truck would be ready the next day. We wouldn't hear from them until the following week. Once we got it back it broke down the next day. It then remained there for another month. The same thing happened. We would call and get the runaround. It got to the point where we just wanted our truck back. It didn't matter if it was fixed or not. Our next truck will not be a Ford.
I bought a 2015 F150 2 weeks ago from there. The car seemed fine when I left but one of my tires just went flat today. I took it to discount tires and they said all of the tires are in really rough shape and that they need to be replaced very soon. I called my sales person (Xiaoxing Shao, also goes by He ) and he told me that the reason why I got a good deal was because the tires weren t that good so that s why it was a good price. But of course, no one told me that when I bought the truck from them. Now I m stuck with the truck and I m gonna be looking at almost a grand for new tires. Thank Mccombs West for screwing me over, but I learned my lesson so I won t make that same mistake again.
Management acted quickly to get me a service appointment for a minor problem. Rachelle did a great job keeping me informed of the status. The service area was clean and comfortable. My repair was completed quickly and I rate this experience as Excellent.
If I could rate 0 I would. Horrible service. Salesman are like sharks. Willing to flip the earth just to make a commission. If you're just looking, then don't go because some salesman will flat out turn you down. Bald dude with some South American accent ended up walking away after I told him I wasn't buying today. Another kept trying to make me offers after I told him repeatedly that I am going to buy, but just not today. I wouldn't recommend this dealership.

Pacco was excellent at showing me the vehicle I saw online, he told me the process regarding having my vehicle appraised, what to expect next, make sure the new vehicle was clean, and sent me to the right finance person to finish up the process. Thanks to him and Mr Payton I was in and out in no time. Quick. Easy. Simple. That's the Red McCombs way! Don't try to use my phrase either.
TL;DR: Did the service work request by the day they had promised, but the experience was only just above unpleasant, along with minor damages caused by the actual repair work.
This was my experience with McCombs Ford West s Service Department between the 1st and 5th of June. One the 1st (a Saturday) I took my car to get the a/c diagnosed. I was told what the problem was and how much it would be to fix, along with the expected date for when the part would arrive (Tuesday, the 4th) and when the car can be fixed (either the same day the part arrives or the day after, Wednesday). When asked if I could drive the car until the part arrived, I was told that the service department would be prepping the car so that when the part arrived, the repair could be completed very quickly and have the car back on the road sooner. I obliged and went the next several days without my car. On the 4th when the part for the repair was expected to arrive, I called the service advisor to ask if the car would be ready for pickup the same day. I was told that it would be ready the next day, as the technicians were now tearing into the dash to get the car ready for the part. This puzzled me, as I had believed the whole point of me leaving my car with them for the last three days was to have the car ready to receive the part the moment it arrived from shipping. It is now my understanding that based on the procrastinating work ethic of the service department, I could have been driving my car until Tuesday when the part arrived and still have the car back the Wednesday they had expected to complete the repair. But no matter, Wednesday is the latest they said the car will be ready, and so I waited. True to their word, the next I was able to pick up my car and the a/c now blows ice cold. But sadly that wasn t the only change to the car. Trim pieces on the dash don t sit right the same way they did before, parts from the center console were missing, and the shift knob had collected horrible scratched from what I could only guess was a rabid raccoon. It seems in the service department s hurry to get the one thing actually broken fixed, they damaged a few other things along the way. Now I recognize that taking apart something like the dashboard means things might not fit back the way they did from the factory, but center console trays gone missing? Gouges in a shift knob? And apparently waiting until the last minute to get the job done, too? If I had known the work I had requested was going to be such an inconvenience to the service department at McCombs Ford West, I would have been more than willing to spare them the burden and find another place to perform the repair. The only reason this review isn t being given one or two stars is because in the end they did fix the a/c by the date they promised it would get fixed. But I will be thinking twice or trice before considering this dealership again for any future service work.

Had a 2018 Ford Escape love the vehicle but driving position is a pain. Thought McCombs Ford West would be able to assist me in trading in the vehicle but the salesman was either lazy or just didn t want to work with me. The salesman really rushed the conversation acted like I didn t know what I was taking about but I work with numbers I work in finance I know the drill but he had an aggressive tone that I wasn t even interested if he was to be my salesman. Not even checking my credit or asked me if I had money to put down which I had 10k because I knew I had negative equity he just basically said I ain t wasting your time or mine. The response was basically a trigger to me where I was not going to argue I was just going to end the conversation and take my business elsewhere. Went back to Red McCombs Ford which is basically the same owner and the energy is far superior than McCombs Ford West have not traded in my vehicle but they understood my situation and gave me options that Ford west did not.
Found the perfect car, secured financing, confirmed the deal with finance. Sales manager "Jessie" sold the car out from under me. Called me 1/2 way through my drive across the state to inform me of thier decision. Poor communication, terrible service.
Can't give enough praise to Pesci and Tre in used vehicle sales. I was in a difficult position needng a very specific vehicle on a limited budget, which was lower than the price they usually deal in. They went above and beyond looking around for a vehicle that that met my specific requirements and managed to find one within my budget. Could not be happier or recommend them more highly!

After searching for the right Mustang GT throughout the day, I immediately felt as ease walking into McCombs West.
Once George introduced me to Sam, immediately had the GT prepared for a test drive and informed me of all the functions. The easiest part of the day was negotiating with Sam and his manager. Absolutely the definition of service, from ensuring the best deal possible to hospitality in the office. Something the other dealerships I visited lacked, therefore made the purchase an easy exciting experience.
Probably the shortest time I ve spent at a car dealership and drove off with my GT premium PPK1 without a hassle.

Also I really was in need of a bigger car because I m expecting another child. I really was told no the first round with LG. I was so drained from being told no from many other dealerships. Just when I was about to give up I got a call from LG, who is just a blessing to me and my family. He was able to work it out. I m so thankful that he did not give up on me in a time of need. LG made it possible that I was able to leave ( Mccombs Ford West Dealer )with a brand new 2019 Ford Escape!! I definitely will be referring family and friends to LG!!
