I have worked at the Fire side Grill for 1 month and the very first day I started I was treated badly by everyone, they discriminate there, and treat people deplorable ,if your a person of color or from a different origin don't work there you will never fit in, if your young you might stand a chance assuming your not from the east shore! Management is not on your side and will not fight for you,and the servers are back stabbers, plus they don't care about their residents, there are better place's to work where people don't make cruel assumptions of you and are team players, please for your own self worth stay away from this bottomless pit.

Wow what a wealth of information from Messiah Lifeways and the Cumberland County Commission for Women held the seminar: The Sandwich Generation - Parent Care Giving. Our panel Vicki Hoak, Aviv Bliwas, Laura Souders, and Sue Severino gave us lots of things to think about and to prepare for ourselves and aging parents.

Very weird place. The Covid Screener is so high strung and buddy buddy with every one that walks in. They are not willing to help. Was there to visit someone and had to wait for over an hour before they finally gave me an update.

My wife loved the services they provided her and the people that worked with her in many capacities. BUT the problem is that administrators aren't so caring-just interested in money. They have so many new rules all the time that just add to the stress of caregivers. They are so inflexible and when you get upset with them, they threaten you and make it difficult to function there. BE CAREFUL!

Community! I have friends who live here. I have seen over and over the sense of community between residents enjoying coffee together at the coffee shop, getting on some of the extended Vans to go on field trips, or just passing them on the walkways. I can think of at least two conversations over the last few years where residents told me their only regret is that they didn't move on campus sooner! Authentically caring, approachable people.... from the higher ups to nursing to housekeeping and maintenance. Messiah Village is something my wife and I have talked about for ourselves eventually...

The facility is so beautiful and clean and I really thought I would enjoy working there, but if you are a person of color forget it! I worked in the home care department and clients would say they didnt want me to come back to them just because I am black. Management will not stand up for you! I tried to get a different position within the company and was turned down despite my hard work and 10 years experience working in the nursing field. If you are a person of color beware....The treatment I recieved while working at Messiah village was horrific to say the least!

A wonderful, mission-driven place to live and work! Since 1896, Messiah Lifeways has been serving this region's older adults. Glad to work here and would recommend it to anyone needing senior services.

I feel blessed to work for a well established organization that truly lives out its mission and vision to enhance the lives of older adults. My co-workers are great and I love having the opportunity to interact with residents and clients each day. I would highly recommend Messiah Lifeways at Messiah Village to anyone looking for a job or a retirement community to call home.
