The staff at McAlester Regional Health Center ASC surgery were amazing. They were the most patient and understanding team of medical professionals I have seen. They were very concerned with my sons needs and made sure he was comfortable during this stressful day. I could not have asked for a better team to be with my son on this day. Kent the anesthesiologists was simply the best, as well as the rest of the staff. I wish I could remember all of their names. To the entire team on my son s case that day Thank You. What you did that day for my son meant the world to me and my family!!!!!

The experience we had was exceptional. They helped me fairly quick considering it was shift change time. I was treated extremely well from start to finish. They even called me a few days later to check on me to make sure I was feeling better. Thank you to all the staff, especially to the nurse who got my IV in the first try without it being painful.

My experience with MRHC emergency room was great. They got me taken care of quickly with the appropriate testing and scans and even though the hospital was a full census, got me transported to another facility. Everyone from the admitting clerk to the CT scan, to the people taking blood and all the nursing and physician staff were helpful, kind and professional.

There are many good doctors at this facility. My bad exchanges have been in the E R. The people are nice but the care needs attention. I went in with extreme vertigo. Can't say they ever addressed that issue. They were checking my heart and gave me aspirin. No help getting out the door leaving and vertigo was sure not any better. What really aggravated me was when I got home and looked at my discharge papers and the causes for being there were totally incorrect. Discharge papers said I was complaining about passing out. I never had or told anyone I was having that problem. I guess I am lucky they didn't try giving me a rectal exam. I had previous experience years ago and said I would never return. I have learned my lesson. I bet I still get one heck of a bill though.

I would give a negative review if I could. My 88 year old mother was in there for eight and a half hours and it was miserable. I gave my phone number and car description. They never called the whole time. When I called them they never answered any questions just made excuses. Other people had some one come out to there car and talk to them. We only had one person come and that was to apologize for not knowing how to use the phone system. Second horrible experience.

My husband had a stroke and the emergency room people were amazing in how fast they accomplished everything. Then the ICU doctor, Dr Auld, and the nurses have been wonderful!! Very happy so far.

Went in for a very basic procedure according to the surgeon. Would not listen to me about a condition I had and I coded on the table. Was air flighted to Tulsa where some REAL doctors took great care of me. St Johns is the best and very very professional. I had heard all these complaints since moving here and didn't listen. HOPE YOU DO. Worst experience of my life.

I have had 4 babies by C-section, joint replacement in my right foot, ankle surgery, carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists, both elbows, appendix and gall bladder both removed. My husband has had several surgeries also. We have had a great experience on every one. These were all done a different times over the last 25 years. We have used several different doctors. You are responsible for caring for yourself and following the doctors orders when you come home.

My elderly mother was taken there on 3 different occasions. All 3 times she was treated like dirt. The ER doctor the last trip there, i do not know how she has a license. Best suggestion for anyone thinking of going here ...go somewhere else if you want good care and to be treated with dignity and respect. My actual rating for this hospital would be a negative.

Horrible place dirty,so nasty. There more worried about money then they are about the care of the patient.I wouldn't take my dog to that place. Its a shame anymore when it comes dwn to money before a human.

My husband went to the emergency room for chest pains. All the necessary tests were run to show that pain in the chest was not a heart attack and may well be a pulled pectoral muscle. What a relief! We were so pleased with the care and attention given to his health concerns. We would recommend McAlester Regional Hospital's ER to any and all who might need their services.

If I was able to give this place no stars I would. If you want your loved one to live then do not bring them here. They killed my grandma 6 years ago after they failed to prescribe her blood thinners after a knee surgery which is one of the most important things! Almost a month ago they killed my grandfather after he contracted sepsis after a hip surgery. They failed to listen to us when we told him that something was wrong.. Did a blood test the day before he died but never called the family to tell them something was wrong so we could say our last goodbye since they weren't even concerned about treating him. They failed to treat and prescribe medication on both my grandparents which is negligence. WORST HOSPITAL EVER.

Doesnt deserve the one star i had to choose to make a review! After being physically assaulted and 16 weeks pregnant while being a high risk pregnancy already it took well over 3 hours to even get to a er room. And another hour b4 being seen. And dr did finally come in it was a joke... He didnt listen to anything i had to say he didnt run any test or check anything all he did was ask nurse to lisyen for a heart beat which i dont really trust considering the last time they checked for a hear beat on a previous pregnancy they swore it was the baby and perfectly fine just to come to find out the baby had been dead inside of me for 3-4months... Which ended up with me going thru months of bs and hell....

ER had a stoned sounding guy on the phone, who barely answered my questions. To be fair it was 0235 early Sunday morning. Sunday at 0700 the ER, which is very new and well equipped, had me up and clear within four hours after the right combination of IV bags. Good medical tests done to give me the results I needed. Thanks.

This hospital is a joke. For one when it comes to their hospitalist they don t care about the patient because they don t see them on a permanent basis so they don t even read their file or even pay attention to what the patient has to say . I know because when my mother was very sick I put her in a home for a month to get her back on her feet and went down hill from there . She got sent to Mcalester hospital and when the doctor sent her back knowing she had congestive heart failure sent her back to the facility without her Lasix or pain medication . When the med aid didn t catch this had to go back to the hospital and the doc just told me to take her home to die and didn t care to try to help her. I worked there and also at there assisted living Facility . It all starts at the top. They only care about there pockets and deceiving all of McAlester. They don t care about there workers or even how hard they work but then they let lazy ass workers get away with doing nothing. I worked with several wonderful nurses they were overworked and under paid . They don t keep enough help in the hospital and they will send you home just to save them some money. Or float you in stead of calling some one in the float pool to save a penny. If I wanted to float I would of joined the float pool but you do what they say or get fired. I worked at the assisted living facility And I did my job And the activity director s job because she was too damn lazy to do her own work then when the main lady retired they put this lazy woman that has no nursing skills whatsoever in charge of this facility then because I was The only aid that worked 12 hour shift every other weekend having to do my job housekeeping job and activities with no help and because I sent emails to the main person at the hospital he sent Heather French to the assisted living facility to write me up and because I wouldn t sign the write up she said I would no longer be working there and told me I was fired for no reason after being a hard worker. This is all because I felt like they wasn t treating the people in this facility the way they promised when they rented an apartment . The hospital and assisted living facility is just a joke because it is only who you know to get a good job in these facility. Bethany only got that position because of her mother and who she knows she did not earn it . If you look behind there so call perfectness. I would not recommend this place for work or to be taken care of at this facilities .

If I could give this hospital a 0 star rating I definitely would. I took my very sick dad to the ER and we waited for 3 hours before I asked how much longer it would take. The receptionist in the ER said she didn't know and that it could be a 7-hour wait. This place is a joke!

My visit was with the Osteopathic Facility. There were only a few minutes of waiting time. The entire staff (desk receptionists, xray technicians and physicians assistants were all kind, helpful and very knowledgeable. The PA listened to me with full attention and he addressed my medical condition with perfection and proceeded to treat it accordingly. He gave me all the details and knowledge I will need for future treatment should I need further attention.

I'd leave 0 stars if I could. We waited 3 hours before a resident came in and said it was a ear infection and then then another hour for the dr to come in and say a double ear infection and when I told them to test him for rsv they didnt and what do you know he has rsv.

I have to give 1 star to rate, at least they have a nice new er, but some other hospital should have got it. The worst experience was with my wife we went in they told her after testing her they told her that it's probably MS and to go see her doctor, which they tell alot of patients, discharged her we were in the parking lot and they called us back because they got the test results back and oh, shes bleeding to death. So suffice to say unless its your last option i wouldnt go there, we need a new hospital and all new medical PROFESSIONALS!

Experience was ok other than having to wait over two hours with my daughter that could have had a head injury from a motor vehicle accident. Some people were taken back and discharged before we were and she had symptoms of nausea and vomiting, dizziness, and had hit the windshield of the vehicle that she was in. Thanks McAlester Regional.

Unfortunately, I have been there a few times this year, but it gives me the ability to give a review over the average of the care we received. The ER is nice, and the care is very competent. Good job. We have just a few choices of ER s in our area and this is the one we would choose.

McAlester still suffers from some small-town culture (long wait times, poor organization in few departments, for instance) but a lot is improving. They just got a gastroenterologist and their cardiologist and pulmonologist are excellent. Their best asset is their welcoming and friendly staff. The residency training program ensures that the doctors stay up to date with the latest medical advancements. Change is slow but change is happening and I anticipate that this little hospital will become the pride of Southeastern Oklahoma.

I went to the urgent care facility there and my diagnosis was accurate. The people were friendly & helpful. My pa or np was good & she told me exactly what I needed to do to take care of myself. Also they did a culture & it came back positive so she called & changed my meds. I would go there again if I had to. I live 2 hrs away from there but if I had to I would go again.

I'm in a powerchair. When I'm looking for a special area, any and I mean ANY, staffer will stop to assist me. Actually, it's surprising the extent they'll go to. I don't need to ask; they ask me.

I visit the Wound Care Center regularly. Staffers are professional, caring, time manager, doctor or nurse. What a great group to have care for you!

We moved to McAlester from Arkansas over a year ago. On January 7th was the first time II had visited the hospital. My husband had slipped two disc in his back at work and I had to rush him to the Emergency Room. It was right at 7am when we got there which is shift change. They took us right back we were in and out with in a hour and 15 minutes. Everyone was so kind and caring, definitely would recommend this hospital to anyone. The 2 receptionist at the front were so kind and helped me when I ran home to get my younger son so my oldest 2 kids could get to school. Very thankful for everyone involved in my husbands care that day!!!

I had to give this place one star even though they deserve none. This place took the life of my papa. He had a stroke and they said he was fine. Then they Saud they didnt have a neurologist so they would life flight him. Then they said they had a neurologist but they didn't. Then they said he had a chance but then they was like he has no chance to live. But it was their fault because they didn't life flight him. Now my papa is gone because of them. He meant the world to us. And now I want to hurt the doctor that took him away from me. And I will hurt him someday. I love you papa R.I.P. papa Larry fraley

I had my gallbladder removed on 2/27/2020 and I was treated very well. I woke up in no pain and had a very attentive nurse. Dr Plaxico was my surgeon and he is excellent as well. It was a very positive experience.

I was treated with courtesy and provided with professional healthcare from the staff and the doctor on duty. During my stay in the emergency room, I was made comfortable, which relieved my stress.

Thank you.

I visited MRHC in April. I was very sick and knew something wasn't right! The dr who came in took my symptoms left and came back and said it was anxiety or indigestion. I am not one to speak up but I knew something wasn't right. When I told her it was neither of those things she became very rude and asked if I wanted to stay in the hospital to which I replied no but I knew something wasn't right and didn't want to go home and get worse. She left and another dr came in a couple hours later and asked if I wanted to stay and tried to tell me what anxiety felt like blah, blah, blah. (I swear anxiety is their answer for everything!) They sent me upstairs where the awesome drs I seen let me know my heart rate was really high and labs showed that I was basically low of everything in my body. They listened to my symptoms and ran one other test. I had a bad infection in my stomach. At one point one dr said he dont even think they looked at my labs or why they wouldn't have noticed with my elevated HR that something was wrong! I knew last night when I needed to go to the er that anywhere would be better than mrhc but for convenience I went. Bad idea! I seen the same dr who tried to send me home with a diagnosis of anxiety instead of taking the time to actually look at the labs or my heart rate to see there was something wrong! I was disrespected. My bp was elevated but after I used the restroom no one hooked me back up. That's right folks they took my blood pressure once in the 4 hours I was in the er. Never hooked it back up after the first 30 min it stayed in the floor. I was given a breathing treatment after the lady said I still had a lot of wheezing. I recieved an ekg by jennifer er tech she was by far the rudest most unprofessional young lady. Someone seriously needs to teach her bedside manners! My o2 got down to 90 no one ever came in the dr came in listened to my chest and said sounds good will get your papers and you can go. I didn't argue who cares that my o2 was 92 now they certainly didn't care to come hook me back up to the machine or to have the courtesy to shut the blinds while pulling my shirt up to do a ekg. I decided then and there I will never go back to mrhc I will drive 3 hours to avoid it. I understand the nurses and dr have a lot on them. I work in the health care field too. But no matter how stressed or how bad my day is I never let a patient feel like a burden. We are in the health care field to serve others! If we can't do it with decency and courteously then we are in the wrong field!!! Please for the safety of the community work on caring about their needs and not just brushing them off or making them feel like they are a burden! I do not reccomend the er. I will say the actual hospital stay in April was great! The drs were very good they cared about my well being and did everything to make me comfortable and better! I stayed several days and was not dissatisfied once. I just wish they would work on the er!

We just left MRHC... We are absolutely amazed of the care we recieved for our 10 month old baby boy! Our RN Emily was amazingly quick, helpful and extremely caring anf thoorough, our Dr. McAlester was also one of the best, he took very good care of our baby boy, spoke sincere and addressed every single concern we had. One of the BEST ER experiences we have experienced yet! I would highly recommend them to anybody.

This hospital is NO GOOD, I ve been in the waiting room for 2 hr throwing up in a bag and on their floor, I asked how much long and the lady said it s going to be a while. Like what do you mean?! It s already been two hr since I checked in.... if you come here don t come unless it s 3AM-5AM
Other then that your going to suffer here.
Nothing good to say about this place.

It was my 1st visit since the Pandemic and I was nervous but it went smooth and I felt like they were concerned about my safety because it was a sterile environment! It was a good experience overall!

I want to thank McAlester regional for the care I received in the ER Tuesday night. I was taken back immediately when I got there and they 1st started asking me questions to rule out domestic abuse. And honestly as a nurse I thank you for that. The way my break was it resembled basically an upper cut. my nurse asked who was there when it happened, who brought me in and are they still here I could tell they were trained to recognize assault and I am thankful that they did for future women s experiences. My husband was at work and my nurse quickly relieved and said oh okay. They then did my CT SCAN AND was quick to come back with my results, and even a referral. Name phone number and address to my plastic surgeon that would see me. I know that a lot of times the ER is hectic but I also know they run and try their hardest. Yesterday a nurse from the ER called to follow up and make sure I was seen by a surgeon and to see how I was doing. Awesome Job To them, for real. Thank you McAlester Regional.

Dr torbati needs to learn how to put his patient and there needs first, and needs to learn how to respect them. When they ask for medical help and testing he needs to explain why they should or not should have it. Instead of telling them they are crazy and nothing is wrong. Espically when this patient has a history of there pregnancy test not showing constant positives till they are 20+ weeks, and he knows this about the patient.

If you or a loved one are having a life threatenin...

If you or a loved one are having a life threatening medical emergency while driving through McAlester, Oklahoma, I strongly suggest that you keep driving until you get to the next hospital. The locals in McAlester are already much too aware of what a ridiculous and murderous facility this so called "hospital" is. The medical tents of the Civil War gave better treatment I'm sure. My recommendation to everyone is to avoid this place that is locally referred to as "the serial killer of hospitals" at all costs.

The general attitude of the staff at this facility...

The general attitude of the staff at this facility is one of complacency and just treating the public as almost not human. I am 67, a Marine Corps 4 year enlistee with Vietnam service, and the lack of concern for my time spent waiting was ridiculous. All I needed was my blood drawn. On the other hand though, the lab personnel were friendly, courteous, and gave me a sense of well being, even though they were busy. This facility needs to look at processes from a REAL HOSPITAL. I refuse to give this facility the name HOSPITAL.

I went in for a CT. I didn t have to wait, they got me checked in quickly and as soon as I got to the x-ray place they gave me a form to fill out. As soon as I handed that in, they came and got me. It didn t take but a few minutes and I was done. They were very efficient and professional.

First visit before covid. They got me right in and out. If it could only be like this in all medical facilities. Couldn t believe how friendly the staff was.
Update! Went back in for kidney stone issues a week later like the first time that they treated me properly and then they wouldn t treat me for that. I told them I didn t have covid and they wouldn t listen. They insisted I had covid. RIDICULOUS. All they wanted to tell me is that I call had covid. They put me in with the covid wing and I was praying I didn t get it after that. All they wanted was the covid money. They released me and still supposedly didn t have my covid test back and wouldn t test me for the kidney stones. Finally they took me down and did a scan that proved what I was saying all along and the DR was completely unprofessional because he was wrong and treated me like I was a bad person. And by the way as I was leaving after they checked my kidneys they told me my covid test came back negative. Imagine that. Stay away from this place.

They didnt really help me they gave me morphine and did a ct scan but because they didnt see anything wrong they sent me home. Something is causing this major pain but they didnt want to take the time to look farther into it..

Very friendly staff. Didn't have to wait long for my apt. Technician was very nice and knew what she was doing. On the down side they seemed to be short handed. There should have been at least 2 techs in the room. 1 to position you and 1 to do the mammogram. That would have cut down on some of the pain. But overall it was a positive experience. But please get those ladies some help!
