Even though you aren t recognized by name but by the patient s Mayo Clinic ID s #. The moment anyone is registers in any of the Mayo Clinics they assign you an ID number which is unique. So you better recorder it because you ll be needed it everywhere and ( hopefully not) if whichever reason you go back. It s valid in any Mayo Clinic in the USA. They save all your medical records, including all the tests and images they have taking from you, your insurance company and records, and other info concerning your health. The staff people are polite and helpful. It s important for anyone to consider this, basically the city of Rochester is the Mayo Clinic campus . The customers of the Restaurants and businesses are the people who work in the Clinic and the patients and/or their families. On weekends, Rochester is a ghost city, because most of the people who work at the clinic live in suburbs so you ll see the city empty. It s a great clinic to me, they saved my father s life.
Their systems are greatly integrated that one Dept knows what the other one is doing. What a crazy concept!
I have been seeing Dr Fervenza since October 2018 and couldn't be happier. The doctor and staff are wonderful, caring people. Have only run into one person in nephrology that was cranky once, but we all have bad days, so no harm done. The important thing is quality of care, and I believe I am getting that. Dr Fervenza spends all the time I need answering my questions, brilliant and genuinely cares. I couldn't be happier.
Sorry to see this place does not have a 5 out of 5. My first day to my last day the people were great. Every doctor was amazing. Their equipment and options are amazing. There is museums throughout the buildings, and various artifacts and displays from around the world to look at. Its clean, roomy, and efficient. I did all of my first day appointments in about 2 hours and was done about 2.5 hours before I should have been. However they said it's not always like that. If you get to your location early and check in, if they can get you in they will no matter when the scheduled time is. I cant say enough good things about Mayo. Shuttles that only cost a tip, are extremely convenient and walking is easy from any hotel, even one a mile away like I was in.
Awesome. Just awesome. Some people may say this place isn't all it's cracked up to be, but when compared to other medical facilities, this place has helped me FAR more than all the others, combined. They take care of my concerns so fast as well as any and all potential insurance issues I may have. They have fixed things that other providers have messed up and/or couldn't diagnose. Of course Mayo isn't perfect, but then again, that begs the honest question, what place is perfect?? The fact that this place is world famous says quite a bit. I can't say enough how thankful I am to have such a good medical center near me (and I highly recommend it to others). My only concern is the cost of care. But even about that.. I fully believe in rewarding knowledge and hard work. Thus, I think Mayo fully deserves the right to charge for their services. Keep up the great job Mayo!!!!
I am happy to learn that it is your professional opinion, and the surgeons opinion, that we hold off on surgery.
I am however extremely upset that we flew up to Minnesota to be told to go home and see an internist. There were three months ahead of time that we could have either done that at home, or set it up to be done while we were at Mayo.
Not professional at all, and caused my family to waste a ludicrous amount of money. I would greatly appreciate a call about this, as well as an explanation for why we were not handled more professionally, and to the standards that we came to expect out of Mayo.
We were then told to file a formal complaint and that the doctor did not care.
I quit my job to come down and have the surgery done and recover, and all Dr. Anavekar had to say before we came was; did you go to an internist to make sure it s nothing else. He decided to wait until we got to mention the internist for the first time out of our three trips to Minnesota and communication over email and phone.
Super unprofessional and a lack of care was shower when I expressed my discontent.
If you do go to Mayo, which I don t recommend, definitely DO NOT go to Dr. Anavekar. He is far too busy and obviously doesn t care.
Dr. Schaff, cardiologist, performed open heart surgery on my son. My son and our family were treated as if he was the the most important Mayo patient. This was from beginning to end.
Traveled to Mayo Clinic for esophageal surgery. The appointments were well organized and effective. Spent six weeks there and have had very good results from the surgery and am doing well. Mayo Clinic did for me what no one else could have done. Still healing but getting better every day.
This business actively deletes negative reviews from this website. That tells you all you need to know doesn't it? I don't expect this one to last long either.
Mayo Clinic: why do you feel the need to hire services to falsely report the negative experiences of your patients as spam etc to have them removed?
When this review is finished it will likely be the longest I have written. The services and the healthcare here is second to none as they claim Best in the Nation. I can see why in 3 days I saw 10 clinicians and had 20 x-rays, the most intrinsically detailed ultrasound work on my GI than any other docs I have seen previously. Mayo discovered more abnormalities than others and ran tests that they commented, "should have been done by prior internists." All that and they failed to put fear in me. I guess what I'm saying is they are so professional in every aspect. I want to come back every year and live to 100!
they were very nice and explained a lot to me. not sure I know any more coming out than I did going in. but they did explain everything better!
