Maxwells Hair and Beauty Salon Review

Thank you Lucy for an amazing haircut. I went from shoulder length to very short and she has saved me hours of time, it's just wash and go for me and has taken years off me.

My first experience at the salon was disappointing. I was left waiting for a very long time for a cut after highlights as the staff were busy with others. I intended to book in with another stylist as a result but did not find the time and so booked in again ahead of a holiday. At the last minute on the morning of the appointment, the salon called and canceled on me as the stylist was out ill. I had two appointments, one for colour and one for cut. The salon did not offer for me to come in for at least one of the appointments, again the two services I had signed up for would have been delivered by two separate stylists. Now I am going away in two days time and hair not done. I have a three month old baby and planning to come in to the salon is difficult at best. This is incredibly inconvenient and unprofessional. The salon should be able to simply cover for a stylist that calls in sick on the day. I will not be going back this time.

Was a amazing colour for the first few weeks got so many compliments from customers at work!! But I think I washed it too much/wrong now has gone a green colour haha but still looks good so not complaining :) will do again when it fades out for sure. I think it was Sophie who did it for me and mixed up a colour of the blue , green and midnight black. Was a bit worried for work but as I said customers loved it so it's all good :)

I've been going here for almost 3 years. I have the same hairdresser and wouldn't want to change. She understands my hair, colour that works for me and I enjoy the experience.

best Hairdressers for miles! the staff are Friendly and open up conversations with the customers, warm welcome every time. My hair looks awful no matter what anyone does to it but Maxwells do their best with the shoddy canvass I supply them with, and I really appreciate this. Can't recommend them enough!

I had my hair done today by Beth and I absolutely love it! I was blonde before and she completely transformed my hair. I've been to Maxwell's a few times over the last 3 years and I have always had an amazing experience - friendly, professional staff who always go the extra mile. I would recommend Maxwell's to all.

I booked Tash and Abbie for my wedding hair and makeup. They were both fantastic. I had a disaster trial before going to maxwells. I wanted a particular look with my hair and makeup. I had a photo and both of them made me look exactly like the style in the photo. They were so kind and wonderful even when I had some disasters! If they hadn't made me feel so beautiful with all the disasters going on around me it would have been a struggle. Thank you so much ladies.

I have been going here for five years and would never dream of changing. Impeccable service, once I was even offered a free manicure whist my hair colour was taking. A real pampering experience and they reward your loyalty with discount cards. A very special salon.

Always friendly and welcoming, and do a great job keeping my looks sharp! A free cold beer is a great touch.

Okay so. The hair cut is good. Best one you can get I reckon. But 100 percent not in a million years worth 22 pounds for a gents cut

The gents studio is fab. Great cut as ever by Kirsty and you are very well looked after.

Nice staff but an impersonal ambience very expensive for all their services and products. Owner not very helpful I had a phone broken there but he never paid as promised for the screen repair. Voted with my feet and found another salon who are excellent and very welcoming.

I had my first experience of Maxwells this week and it was amazing. Not only does my hair (cut and highlights) look the best it has for years, the whole visit was so lovely. From a welcoming cup of coffee (expect me early every time!) to the massage chairs at the sink. The staff are really friendly and very knowledgeable - Fran was great about ensuring my hair colour looked superb. Highly recommended.

Maxwells Staff, make you feel very welcome and comfortable. All Staff members are very pleasant and always friendly. Hot or cold drinks are provided, friendly chatting whilst having your choice of hair procedure given. End results have made me feel very special, especialy if its for a day / night out.. The staff are lovely, do a good job with my hair & love the massage chair when you are getting your hair washed.

My only downside is rhar on some occasions they booked me in and when I arrive, they start it off but then go off to do someone elses hair and I have to sit there for ages waiting for them to come back. I get they want to book as many in as possible but I have been there at 10am once for an appointment and left at 1pm.. Most of the time waiting around.

always first class - friendly, ready with the coffee and biscuit - text a reminder message to you two days before appointment and excellent quality hair styling - what more could you ask for on your dorrstep! Always punctual too. Also got a Happy Birthday text on the right day!

I've been going to Maxwells for nearly 2 years and I just cannot fault them. The friendly service you receive from the second you walk in is outstanding, I have my hair cut and styled by Tash and she always listens to what you say and will always go that bit extra so that you are happy with your hair. All the staff seem to be the same from what I've seen. I just can't praise them enough. So pleased I found this hairdressers as I'm very fussy.

Excellent haircut for me and my son! They also have got the precautions for C19 perfect so it feels very safe.

Love Maxwell's so much. I had my wedding hair and make up done for my bridesmaids and I 5 years ago. Their styling army was amazing and the effort they went to to make my wedding morning special was incredible, providing breakfast and refreshments.
I highly recommend their wedding services. Since then I've visited many times, including to have a colour change. My stylist is amazing and always offered suggestions and ideas as I'm pretty clueless to what I want most of the time. It's such a luxurious experience from the second you walk in the door, from the coffee and processco, the comfy massage chairs, thr head massage and the umbrellas in case it's raining when you leave. The beauty treatments are so luxiourious too, definitely the place to treat yourself to a facial or massage.

I've been getting my hair cut in the men's part of Maxwells for around three years. Their staff are all friendly and talented, and the place is always clean and inviting.

I just had my hair fixed by Maxwell's after the handy work of another salon in biggleswade and I am so pleased and will never go anywhere else

First class service. You are always received with a smile and they make you feel welcome. There is always a range of complementary drinks so you can enjoy yourself and relax while waiting or having your haircut. For a men the price can be considered a bit expensive but if you see it as an overall experience than the price is reasonable

It is always a difficult time when you have to find a new hairdressers in your area. However, I cannot fault my experience at this salon. I was looked after by an amazing stylist called Gemma. She s extremely knowledgeable and took her time discussing colour and treatment options to ensure the best outcome! Let me say this, the condition and texture of my hair has never been better! Thank you!

I get my hair done at maxwells every 6 weeks with Beth. All of the staff are lovely and make you feel so welcomed. Beth is amazing, she is so friendly and remembers everything I told her the time before. I would definitely recommend Maxwells to anyone I know!

I go here for a massage every month it is amazing. The prices for the massages are very reasonable and I will going again and again. The lovely ladies in the beauty area are always so welcoming and always remember your face. I would definitely recommend you get a massage here!!
