Stay clear of Michael Cotter. He could care less about the customer. Only thing he is worried about is making a dollar. Terrible experience- tried to contact broker but never returned my call. Would never work or refer this office again.
While I am posting a negative review, I do want to point out my realtor was nothing but polite, courteous, easy to reach and responsive.
The reason I am posting the negative review are the business partners this realtor chooses. We had 2 major failings.
The first was with John Adams mortgage, their in house mortgage partner. With the new truth in lending forms, it is supposed to be impossible to come to closing needing a substantially different amount of money than your estimate. Due to a mistake in their calculations, 2 days prior to closing we learned we needed to come up with an additional $5000 out of pocket. This nearly derailed our closing.
The second major issue we have is with their MAX BROOCK home warranty. Their brochure touts it as their plan, and their partner is HMS home warranty. We had an issue with our furnace recently, and the HMS selected contractor diagnosed the issue. HMS didn't like the cost to fix the issue, so rather than providing locally available parts that could fix the issue today, I have to wait 3+ weeks in winter with no heat for them to provide their own part which is back ordered. There is no one at this company who will speak to you who can make a difference. It is at their sole discretion as to if they have to expedite a fix. According to them, no heat in December, waiting 3+ weeks to get a non-functional furnace fixed is acceptable. I contracted my own contractor to fix the issue for $300. Well, since HMS didn't approve, (no one one the phone could ever approve, the best they could do is promise a supervisor would call within 72 hours), so 3-4 more days no heat if we did that, they will not cover the cost of the repair. This home warranty is a sham.
If you decide to pick Max Broock, stay far away from their business partners.
Unfortunately, an agent from this office SCHEDULED a home viewing of my house but DID NOT show up nor advise me of their intention. In this competitive market of real estate, any company that employs agents that are guilty of this exhibition of unprofessionalism is just as bad as the agent. It was a LOT of work getting my house ready.
The managing broker was very unprofessional.
Handled a concern I had with an attitude and disregard. Then hung up the phone. I would not recommend this agency. There are too many good realtors and respectful agencies you can spend your time and money with real professionals.
Anita Barratt from Max Broock was great in both the purchase of our new home and the sale of our old home. I was really appreciative of her attention to specific details like filing our homestead paperwork and making sure we were proceeding in a financially intelligent way throughout the process. Anita regularly went above and beyond responding to phone calls, requests for information and details before, during and well after the sale. I highly recommend her as a realtor and felt she did an outstanding job for our family.
Noel Heideman was the realtor for the new condo I bought and for my former condo I owned which he sold for full asking price within 24 hours! I am extremely satisfied with the services Noel provided me with. He has excellent communication skills! It was a pleasure to work with Noel Heideman!
My experience with Max Broock was nothing short of excellent. John Huyck was my guy who made promises and delivered. He sold my house in 3 days and resold it again in half an hour when the first buyers flopped! He also helped find us our new home. 5 star all day long here.
I couldn't have been happier with Anita Barratt. She made a very difficult situation as easy as it could be considering the circumstances. She always went above and beyond and was a dream to work with to boot. You can't go wrong with Anita.
Nicolas Petrucci showed my home yesterday not only did he fail to close the lock box he didn't spin the combination! My home is directly across from a public park complete with well used walking trail (in view of the door). I called there office immediately after & left a voicemail. They have yet to return my call apologize or anything at all. They are closing soon so I doubt they will. I should've been there first call in my opinion. I'm going to call posing as someone who wants to list with him & if he calls right back I will see exactly how he is cut!
How irresponsible, dangerous, reckless, & not even an apology (careless). Anyone can get friends & family to write a good review. So please read all the reviews before making a big life altering decision like using one of them.
Max Broock brought a buyer that was never qualified for a lone this caused my home to be off the market for two months and the sale fell through.
My husband and I recently had the pleasure to work with Dawn Rassel in selling our previous home and purchasing our new home. She was always professional and had our best interest in mind. We would highly recommend her without reservation!
Anita Barratt was very knowledgeable and personable and kept us in the know every step of the way. She went over and above to make sure we had all the information we needed. Anita followed up after every showing to make sure our house was secured when we were out of town. She always returned our calls or texts promptly and took the time to review the closing docs with us prior to the official closing to answer any questions. We would highly recommend Anita to anyone looking to buy or sell a home.
We had our house in the market for rent and my previous agent cannot rent it for two months, and that was back in July and August, then we talked to Maxine Murray, she suggested we cut the bushes near the driveway and paint the main bathroom and front door(total cost $300), she even cleaned the laundry tub for us, then she relist the house, the house was rented within a month.

an and Sarah sold two homes for us, one in July and the other in August. Each sold for what we wanted within 4 days of listing. While the market for selling is hot, both homes were in a price range higher than the sweet spot for the highest demand. Jan and her team worked with us for several months while we prepared each home for sale. Jan's advice as to what needed to be done to sell our homes at our desired prices was spot on!
At first we did not want to make some of the changes she recommended. However, once we did, we wished we had made them years earlier. The changes made all the difference between getting good prices for the homes and great ones. Additionally, Jan's team's staging of our homes turned them into showcases that popped in the pictures and showings.
Lastly, Jan and her team spent days obtaining comps prior to pricing the homes which were then used by the appraisers to ensure the homes appraised for the selling prices. Without their advanced work on the comps we don't believe the appraisers would have had the necessary information to price the homes correctly.
If you are going to sell your home, use Jan's team. If you use Jan and her team, listen to what they tell you to do if you want to get the best price for your home - even if what they say is not easy to hear!

Kellie Aiken was my realtor, and all I can say is she was absolutely wonderful. She helped step by step on my long path to purchasing my first house. Kellie helped me find my house within a month and I was closing on the house the next month. As a first time home buyer Kellie understood my lack of experience and knowledge of how the housing market works and she educated and showed me a lot about house hunting. I feel very fortunate to have found a realtor such as Kellie, I know there s a lot of great realtors out there but I still think Kellie is one of those special ones that most home buyers hope to have in a realtor.

Poor experience with realtor who assured me that a condo we wanted fot my elderly mother was available for viewing. I picked up my 87-year old mother so she could approve the final purchase. Realtor arrived and we could hear her arguing loudly over the BlueTooth on her mobile phone. The other realtor had cancelled and Dee failed to verify any of this even though I had texted her the night before to confirm the appointment details. My elderly mom, who uses oxygen, was taken on a 30-mile car ride in 90 plus temperature and then turned away . Dee Brooks was aware of my mother's age and health factors but obviously, she couldn't care less!
Our realtor, Nick Petrucci did a great job selling our house. He was spot on when it came to pricing our house, dealing offers and negotiating the final details. Nick knows the Southeastern Michigan Market very well.

She is honest, knowledgeable and extremely skilled in the industry. She will NOT steer you wrong, and she goes above and beyond to make sure you are optimizing all of your opportunities for selling and buying.
Jeff and Mathew did all the things that exemplify a great realty team! From the first meeting I knew that I would be happy with my choice in realtors. The team set realist expectations on pricing with regards to current market conditions. They helped stage the home for sale. One of them was always quick to respond to any issues that came up and helped in finding a solution. Showings all took place during this crazy pandemic and I was most assured that proper safety precautions were adhered to. After the sale, closing was completely non-eventful with no last minute surprises as all details were taken care of properly ahead of time.
