Maurice House or the Royal Painting Gallery or Mauritshuis.
It is housed in a not-so-magnificent-looking, beautiful inside, a classicist palace built in 1633-1644 for Johan Maurice van Nassau, governor of Brazil.
The collection began with the collection of William V Oranski, the gallery was opened in 1821. It contains masterpieces of Dutch and Flemish masters from the 15th-18th centuries, over 850 exhibits, including the beautiful "Girl with a Pearl" by Vermeer, the famous "Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Tulp" Rembrandt, nice, tiny Fabritius "Szczygie " and a joint work of Rubens and Jan Breughel the Elder "Adam and Eve in Paradise".
The building also houses a library (not available to visitors) and an education center. Here you can learn many interesting things, you can dress in Rembrandt's beret, put on a white ruff and a cape, pick up a palette and brush and for a moment feel like a great master .
Admission 15.50. With this ticket you can enter the Galerij Prins Willem V.
I was on Saturday morning, I watched in comfortable conditions.

Splendid museum. Not huge, but fantastic collection, housed in a historic building. Rembrandt, Vermeer, Rubens, Hals, Bol, they are all there. And of course "The girl with the pearl", how special is that.

Visit to see a girl with pearl earrings. It is about 10 minutes on foot from The Hague Station.
When you go along with the opening, there are not many people and you can see slowly. It will not be so crowded even if it approaches the afternoon.
It is easy to understand when you listen to explanations with the official app, but there are not many explanations in Japanese.
I think that staying time is less than 2 hours even if you look slowly.

Today the exhibition 'Southern neighbors. Portraits from Flanders 1400-1700 'seen. To be seen until 14-01-2017. Pieces from own collection, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp. A small exhibition in two rooms, but definitely worth it. Easy to combine with a visit to the permanent exhibition of the museum with The Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer as an absolute masterpiece.

Fantastic. A must to understand local life and culture. The works of art are fantastic. They have a distinguished service and it is one of the few museums in Europe completely prepared for strolling with baby strollers on every floor. We feel very respected and welcomed with these adaptations for babies.

Great collection. Don't miss the "Interior of an Imaginary Catholic Church" by E de Witte (it hung in the same room as Vermeer's "Girl with a Pearl Earring" when we visited). It was one of my favorites.

Gorgeous museum in a building with rich history. Really enjoyed it. Here you can find paintings by Vermeer and Rembrandt among others. Of course the iconic "girl with a pearl earring ". Not a huge museum.
Entry june 2019: 15.50

Despite crowds, there is still a quiet atmosphere. The paintings are more than worth it. We wanted to see the National Trust exhibition, but there was no entry. Mauritshuis: make sure that people can book a ticket online and do so for a TIME. This way you avoid backward long queues.

You will be met at the door by a lady who you think works at the MH. But no, she's doing a sales pitch on behalf of the zip code lottery. Was grumpy when we turned out not to be interested. Furthermore, the exhibition was worthwhile and corona proof. But that made the start less fun and confusing.

A very interesting collection of art, although it does not have a large number of works, the ones that it has are of great quality, I especially like the one they have dedicated to rembrant. On the other hand the building is worth seeing in a beautiful setting with the canal next door. Highly recommended It is located in the center of The Hague, near the station and shopping area

cool

No one is moving!

No one is moving!
Super museum on a human scale.
Made with 3 children (7, 9 and 11 years old) without any worries.
I recommend downloading the museum application for explanations of the paintings.
The only downside to the "table" is that many explanations still remain in English when we choose French.
I really recommend this museum.

Perfect

Great.

A wonderful collection of Dutch painting, although unfortunately we have not been able to see the work of any woman on display. We believe that the visibility of women artists is of vital importance since at that time there were excellent painters such as Clara Peeters 1594-1657
